STAR WARS V8 - A Final Attempt (Released)

I ofcourse still have the raw X9 captures of the JSC. I'm happy to somehow give them to someone who can finish the project.

Are those files 20+ GB's each, uncropped and non deinterlaced? is this the RAW you are saying? because I am SURE you are well aware of the whole manual process of IVTC'ing this video and all the shit frames thrown in throughout, this to me is the hardest about this set, each film has some of these shit frames that need to be replaced.

Now you do realize that there are going to be a few here that are going to say, "I want", "I want", I could probably already guess who they will be, but read what Arnie.d said, "who can FINISH the project".

EDIT: Not to derail this thread too much but does anyone know if the UK Dawn of the Dead Blu-Ray looks superior to the US one?

This is not derailing, this thread is about different region DVD's and Blu-ray's not in the US, but to answer your question, they are both MPEG-4 AVC encoded, but the UK is not OAR, it is 1.78:1 where the US version is OAR of 1.85:1, the UK has DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio, but the US has LPCM 5.1 audio and original mono, UK does not have the mono, but the UK version has a bunch of goodies on 2 DVD's, I think that is where the UK version beats the US version, but video to video, I like my US version.

Actually I have been doing some investigating into this UK version, the Theatrical release is the Blu-ray, the Argento version is on 1 of the SD DVD's, so I will definitely not be getting this, I already have ALL versions on DVD in the huge Dawn of The Dead Ultimate Edition with boatloads of extras.

The Trilogy is definitely better priced, but I do not know for sure that the uncuts are in that set, I do know for sure that the single releases are uncut of 1 & 2, there is no uncut version of part 3, damn I wish I could find out if the Trilogy has part 1 & 2 uncut, is a better price.

Thanks for the Zombie link, I will need to check that out.

*edit - damn, is Zombie only in French language?

Well to set things straight, my intention on this project is NOT to split up the resources, this is a Blu-ray project, and the video alone is already encoded at an avg of 16500, and weighs in at 14 GB's(for Star Wars anyways) ESB will be rendered hopefully within a day or two, then encoded, and no offense to all you saying "I will help seed", "I will seed forever", that is not my issue LOL, it is the initial upload, you guys can't "seed forever" until I put it there in the first place right?

I am still well away from being able to release this set(Blu) anyways, I will figure out what I am going to do when and if that time comes, I need to get everything done first.

What are you looking at? Okey Dokey.

@ Harmy, I thought you were getting your scenes from that AVCHD project anyways, at least that is what I thought I read from you, how many different scenes of the same thing do you need LOL, it seems you are asking for clips in every single thread here.

Looks real nice, and with DJ's reluctance to share online, I'm really happy someone else is doing such a fine job upscaling these and in AVCHD too, which is much more convenient for me than Blu-Ray, thank you!!!

And may I ask (and I noticed this on all the upscales not just yours) why are you leaving those black edges on the sides? I must say that to me they're pretty annoying (nothing I couldn't live with though). :-)

Reluctance? LOL, now you are joining the BS commenting group to, very cool, it is kind of hard to upload when your damn PC is rendering and encoding don't you think?

and the side black bars are there because he IS using g-forces script, that is the way g made it, that is why you see it on our upscales, and because of my "supposed" reluctance, I am GLAD you found what you are looking for elsewhere, what the hell happened to this place?

Any new updates?

Sorry, I almost missed this question with all the BS posted below it, yes there is an update for the Blu at least, the rendering of the avi and encoding is finished(for Star Wars) ALL audio is encoded and ready to go, we are in the menu stage now for SW, ESB I have started testing today, not sure if I will post samples though, I am hopeful that the settings for SW will work just fine on the other 2, between the DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio and the choice between DD and LPCM, the BD25 will be filled up, and the menu's are looking(and sounding) SWEET! these are real Blu-ray menu's, no static with audio, these look and sound professional, so far if all goes according to plan, this will be my last SW project, this will be my bowing out gracefully to anything SW, IMHO this set will be a GREAT companion piece to go with the retail Saga release this Fall, again this is ONLY my opinion, I know this will not be for everyone, I am sure just a select few.

and for the V3, they are done and final, I just need to find time and upload them, not sure if I am going to upload the VIDEO_TS folder and let everyone do there own layer-break, or if I should upload the image file with all that done for you, all you have to do is burn, I also moved the chapters manually to put them in line with the retail, and tweaked the menu's a bit as well.

So there you have it, my next update, who knows.

BTW. DJ, may I suggest you finish and upload the Blu project one movie at a time. It would shorten our wait (that would be nice ;-)  ) and solve (or at least minimize) your upload problem :-)

Truth be told, I have no idea what I am going to do with these, uploading might be out of the question(maybe) 23 GB's for 1 movie is a lot of uploading.

Guys, the f*ck is up with you? The DVDs DJ sent out were just for testers (i.e. they weren't the finished product) so obviously he doesn't want those to get out. So unless there's something I don't know, you guys should calm down.

Thanks Harmy, it is shit like this that makes people not want to share, and 1 of the people spouting I thought was a friend, damn I guess I was wrong.

What the hell DJ? You've specifically denied people permission to share V3? What the fuck? I thought this place was a community?

Maybe you NEED to get your damn facts straight before coming and making accusations, I NEVER said the V3 could not be shared, I only said it should not be shared until ALL have checked everything over, and we all found nothing wrong, so you sir, have been mis informed, but thank you very much for spouting off the way you did, very nice dude, very nice.

and for the record, I have only told 1 POS here that I did not want them specifically  sharing my stuff, and that is only because I can't stand Glory Hounds, but again, thank you for your kick ass post.

cheers dude
