Out of intrest...

@dark_Jedi. how the hell are you storing all of them?

Slim packs, or just frikken slip cases in a box or something??? I got 446 DVDs and they are crawling up my wall in amareys!

Not to good actually, they are stacked in a couple different rooms on several racks, or just stacked on each other, it really SUX when I need to try and find a certain title, I am thinking of boxing a lot up and storing just to get these out of the way, and all of them are still in there retail amaray cases, and now my Blu-ray collection is starting to take off, with all the box sets, steelbooks, and amaray, need more room.

I see all new films as soon as they hit DVD. So no i have not seen X-men First Class or, Thor, won't see them til they hit DVD.

In fact i have not seen a film in a theater in a long time and i miss it for nothing. Its not like they are making films like they used to.

They made more films like the original star wars trilogy, or lord of the rings and i may go to see them on the big screen.

I think i'll see The Hobbit in 2-D, in cinema but it depends if i can get some family and friends to go to see it. Otherwise I'll rent the DVD.

DVD? it is time to move on to Blu-ray LOL.

Thank you everybody for you kind words. It's a really tough time for us all at the moment. I really don't like having to sort through all Dads personal things and deciding what needs to be kept and what has to go. Just so much left to do before the funeral next Thursday. I have no idea when i will get back to the edit as i just don't feel like doing anything at the moment.

Don't, spend time with your Family and take a much needed break from things, we will all be here when you are ready, take ALL the time you need.

Thanks for the update d_j. Whether or not you decide to do anything with the video in ANH and ESB, it's good just knowing that you're always keeping an eye out for making this preservation the best it possibly can be.

Even if it is only a tiny bit difference, I REALLY wish I would have known this when I did it the first time, half the rendering time.

1 more thing to note, I may have found a way to make the video look a little bit better, need to do more tests, and it also cut down the lossless avi rendering time by half! but not sure yet if it will be worth doing SW & ESB over since they are done, but I may do Jedi over while waiting.

I just want to emphasize 1 more time that this is a maybe, there is a good chance all will just be left alone, because honestly, there really isn't much more that can be done with this(video wise) but I am going to look just in case.

Info: Yet another restoration... is it REALLY needed?
Time

1080p LD transfer? now this I have to see, I honestly can't imagine this looking good an a bigger screen HDTV.

and I did look at the sample, waaaay to bright and blurry for me, no detail at all, and before anyone starts complaining at my response, he says himself he wants truth, well this is my truth, I still find it amazing that people are even still messing with LD's LOL.

Hey d_j, how are things going on the menu front? It's been quiet in this thread for a while now. Hope it's getting close....dying to see the finished product.

and it will stay quite until I have something tangible to share, and now I do, it looks like the ESB pop up menu has been fixed, I am burning yet another test copy of ESB now and going to watch it all over again just to make sure, if all is good than 2 down, 1 more to go.

AVATAR and 3D in general....
Time

So does anyone here have a 3D set up? I am in the process of getting the gear I need for my 3D ready HDTV, have a nice Panasonic 3D Blu-ray player(and going to get Avatar 3D for FREE)a Mitsubishi 3D Starter Kit, and getting 2 more pairs of glasses, I can't wait, but LOL, I only have 3 3D movies counting the free Avatar that is coming, and they are Resident Evil Afterlife and Drive Angry.
