Just joined today to show us this, so are you sharing or what is your plans? as you have read we are working on this to share to everyone, well if you can help out with a better source this could be useful, so what are your plans?

I am putting this out there to advertise the best of the best.  This is a direct source release, the same type of a release you would expect to see on the shelves at a store, albeit a promotional not an "official" one.

OK where are you sharing this at? and best of the best? well ok then I surely would love to see it, are you going to include any extras? and what is the audio? the video is 1080i so I assume the audio is just Dolby Digital? please share how\when you are going to share and what are the specs for your release?

High-End video capture cards

OK I just ordered this card,

http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Theater-PCIE-Tuner-Card/dp/B003F8O690/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=3FNYQ0DFNN1CP&coliid=IWESQTQ8WK53Z

so is there any tips or tricks I should know when I test it out? like I said I have only used the Canopus ADVC-110 before so this is new territory for me lol, and as mentioned before I will be using my Pioneer CLD-79 Elite Player, and I assume you guys use VDub for capturing?

Thanks

We can use Dolby TrueHD it is no problem, but we\I prefer DTS HD-MA 5.1 and this is what we will use because I find this to be way more compatible then Dolby TrueHD, so if this becomes available to us then I would prefer lossless wav files like before, I can encode myself like all the other versions, TrueHD is to difficult to work with and depending on what you use for your BD authoring any HD audio could be a problem and not author right.

So if it is OK and it is done in time for us then I would prefer 6 mono wav files.

What is strange here is how can you Mike be the only one here to not see it? it is your file and you are seeding it so it seems weird to me that you do not see this, or do you? that is strange lol.

this is why we test, then test again, then test a few more times, we actually caught a minor hiccup on the NOTLD 90 SE BD and had to re test yet again, so I guess what I would like to know is do you see it on your seeded file or not?

Its all good, we are very very close to releasing SW 77, will be a little bit later for ANH 97 SE though, we have a lot in between going on.

So, will the upcoming Star Wars (1977) be part of "Star Wars Original Trilogy Theatrical Edition Blu-ray Set V2(BD25)", or will this mark Blu-ray Set V3 (…and will this release include latest/greatest audio tracks from hairy_hen most recently, to my knowledge, discussed here and here)?

also, are ESB and ROTJ from the same set on the horizon?  Under development?  Or more like pre-production?

SUPER DUPER, really, truly excited for each of your upcoming "Theatrical Edition" Blu-ray releases!!!  :D

Thank you Team Blu, your dedication to excellence is truly remarkable!

I am not sure, he never comments here and I got 1 PM and answered so I have no idea, it may be for the other project only, a possible exclusive I guess, but as of now I guess no, because I have no idea what it is or what is going on anyways.

Not to mention I have been sitting on these files for a while now and want to get it out there so once we are ready I will not make you guys wait any longer.

So this is the one you guys are talking about correct?

also will this capture audio as well, and if so how does that get hooked up? always need audio for sync jobs lol.

Thanks

Yes, that's it.

It looks like it uses a 1/8" stereo connection for audio.

Thanks

So which card ended up being the one to go with? my new powerful PC does not have a video capture card and I was thinking on getting one just to have, not sure if I will ever need LD video but I guess it couldn't hurt to have 1 just in case, I have Windows 7 Pro 64-bit so which card is good and will not break the bank lol?

Thanks

and I am in the US so would need US links.

What are your requirements? 3D comb filter, etc...

Really whatever is good for the money, hell just give me some ideas of what you guys think are the best ones for what we all do here.

If you need a 3D comb filter and you don't mind the potential AGC issues, then go with the Diamond TVW750PCIE.

If you don't need a 3D comb filter (or a good comb filter at all, for that matter) and you're interested in something that's rock-solid reliable for both analog and digital captures, then go with the Blackmagic Intensity Pro.

Thanks for the response, this is the LD player I have,

Pioneer CLD-79 Elite

so with your 2 choices there which would you go with? like I said I will probably not use LD video much at all anymore but would like to be ready just in case, I have been using a Canopus ADVC-110.

Thanks

Here are more tweaks to the cover plus an alternate, we hope you like them, they are not final yet, and this is now on hold for a while, I think I have ripping the LD down but now I cannot figure out how in the hell to compare the wavs to make sure for bit accuracy, so until I figure this out this project will be on hold and I have no idea for how long, video is done and we are working on getting extras but we will see how that goes, so if anyone reading this has any idea on how to use FC.exe or shntool or anything else for that matter to check my LD files for bit accuracy please share.

Thanks

Yeah, I've found Audition to be an awkward bugger with my newer X-Fi card - it refuses to capture, complaining of mismatched input/output rates (and it doesn't help that setting the card to exclusively output 44.1/16 locks up the system).

Here's what works for me: Capture in Wave Studio > Upsample in iZotope RX > Edit in Audition.

Just letting each app do what it's best at...

Thanks, so I am not the only one that has troubles with this program lol, can you provide a little more detail on how this is done, screens would be great if you can and your exact settings, I can't wait to start testing this, and I need to get Fright Night part 2's audio ripped ASAP lol.

Also will this rip DTS? I need this as well for Mortal Kombat.

Thanks

Well, if you can't use that

 shitload of LD's

you could always think to donate them... to me, perhaps? (^^,)

Have you tried to capture via VirtualDub, without actually capturing video? Set the capture device to screen capture, set the audio input to digital/SPDIF, set audio RAW format to 441000hz/16bit stereo and test it - it *should* work.

Can you show me some screens of how you set yours up?

Thanks

Just wanted to say this project is still moving along for those interested, I will have an alternate cover available as well, a darker cover, and I just got a very nice shipment today from ebay and Japan of LaserDiscs!

Prince of Darkness
Shocker
Legend
Hellraiser III uncut
Evil Dead (Japanese)

and last but not least

Fright Night Part 2 (Japanese)

I got this LD for the Digital PCM, so now this project will have much better audio.

I do not have a video capture card on my new PC, I thought my days of LD video capture are done, so how do I rip just audio with VDub?

although I would not mind finding a new video capture card for my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit machine just to have it, you know just in case, even though for now I do not think I will ever need LD video, are there any good cards out there that will work with my set up and will not break the bank?
