Escape From New York [spoRv] *BD-25 RELEASED*
Time

The HDNet broadcast used the exact same frame as the 2003 Special Edition, I believe.  The BD was reframed slightly.  I really don't know which is closer to the original theatrical presentation but I guess at this point it's just personal preference.

This must be the version I just found my backup discs to, this is what I like to see, not to dark, and not way to bright.

Just to be clear... I'm not referring to the DVHS DTheater releases but recordings made from cable and satellite.

How I wish I had kept my Bram Stoker's Dracula DVHS tape! The BluRay is an abomination.

I was just skimming through my list of all 1080i HD files I have and I just seen I have this listed, now this file is pretty old lol so I am wondering if this would have the BD coloring? hell or if it is even OAR for that matter, I need to get out my storage discs and check, unless someone already knows it is the same coloring as the BD, I also found The Gate!

I would love to have the new/current Blu-Ray, as is, but changing the ending (epilogue) to match the theatrical. Personally I feel ALL of the extra scenes (and the aggressive sound mix) benefit the film UNTIL the epilogue, where the stuff is a mood killer and just too boring. It's unneeded.

Are you talking about this release Matt?

http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Exorcist-Blu-ray/57331/

I have this but it is still unopened, I want my Son to see it lol, he said nothing is scary and I wanted him to see this classic, also where exactly would you edit the extended back to the Theatrical? this actually could be a very easy edit.

If you're not "made of money" you should definitely go for this Region Free version:

What is this version better? and if so how is this release better then the 40th Anniversary BD?

Also if you're a member of Tehparadox, kingkong650 is also doing a regrading project on the latest remastering of The Terminator: tehparadox.com

Thanks for the link!! That project looks very titillating.

I checked it out and in that project, there's only been a curve added to balance the colors, but the teal (which is then turned into strong blue) isn't toned down and balanced like in our version.

Not saying this to compete with anyone, just saying it so you guys know that our version will still be worth getting.

Sorry, may I ask when your version is due? I guess i have not been paying attention. My bad. :)

Hey Matt we have a few in front of both the Terminators and True Lies but I can tell you this for sure, it will definitely not be before the first of the year unfortunately.

lol, he is not scaring people off, he is informing them, You_Too is 1 of the nicest guys on this forum and is always around to help and answer questions, he is also a huge asset to our Team, and I know at least when I read his comments, I fully agree with him, he is that damn good.

Scaring people off, since when is giving information or an opinion a bad thing? some of those files of yours are pretty large to download just to find out that what You_Too said is 100% correct.

1 more thing, You_Too and I have discussed doing this, but for right now we just do not have the time with everything else going, but we will look into it when we are ready.

Thank you, I must have got screwed, the damn APD-1 does not turn on and all I get is a bunch of frickin noise so I guess ac3 ripping is out of the question, I knew I should have tried this damn thing out when I got it a couple months ago.

Thanks again

I'll look around to see if I can find something cheap.

You might want to ask around on LDDb to see if there's a simple fix.

Actually I have just been chatting with Duncan and I am going to send it to him, hopefully he can fix it for me, but thanks for helping me out here, I am sure I will have more questions when I get it back working.

Yea I would really like to have SW 77 and ANH 97 SE out before Christmas but I am not sure if it will happen or not, also have about 4 or so non SW releases I would like to get out soon, we have some easier ones before we get to work on what we call our "Special Editions" which will take up more time, we will try but I cannot promise anything, I just don't know.

Laserdisc Ripping?
Time

Sorry to bring this old thread up again but now that I have ripping DTS and Digital PCM down I am ready to rip ac3, I need to rip the ac3 track from Maximum Overdrive, I have the Digital PCM and damn does it sound great and makes up a kick ass custom 5.1, but I really want the ac3 track for our upcoming release as well, I have a Pioneer CLD-79 Elite and the Yamaha APD-1, what I really need to know is how do I hook this up lol, I know that with DTS and PCM you rip with 44.1\16 and with ac3 it is 48\16 already but I can figure out something as simple as how do I hook this baby up lol.

Thanks

*edit, looking at this more it looks like I use my optical out from the APD-1 to my M-Audio device but what cable do I use from the Pioneer to my APD-1? will just any RCA cable work? does it matter if it is an audio red\blue or the yellow video? or is it an all together different cable?

I just want to give a shout out to BDgeek, he is a huge behind the scenes supporter of Team Blu, he has been providing a lot of the much needed Laserdiscs for the Digital PCM and other tracks, so thank you very much BDgeek for being so generous with all these LD's, without them we would not have all the great Digital PCM tracks to use, all that said I now have the LD's for The White Buffalo and Krull, both have Digital audio so this is really great news!

Can you send me details of how to get the FN 2 blu ray disc. I okay with paying any cost for creating and shipping the disk

You PM for the links and you download it, didn't I send you the links already? and we do not sell these BD's, also I am not an order Store lol, I am a fan of movies like everyone else I cannot make every single person their own personal copies.

We just don't get into "bare bones" releases, that's not our style, I personally don't care for them myself but that's me and this was requested in our thread so if you think you can do it then go for it, at this time I do not have or even know where to get the HDTV file or iTunes file, but MrBrown is a damn good friend of mine and maybe he won't mind the "bare bones" approach.

I would love to see a BD preservation of the iTunes HD Version of Disney's "The Sword in the Stone".

Compared to the iTunes Release the BD looks like... http://www.caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergleiche/multi_comparison.php?disc1=3269&disc2=3262&cap1=30065&cap2=29984&art=full&image=0&hd_multiID=1363&action=1&lossless=#vergleich

Can anyone provide the file?

Like I said, for us to even consider a request, which by the way there are some real good ones here, we need to know where these files can be retrieved lol, ideally it would be nice if you have them already and can upload them for us or at least tell me where I can find them.

Thanks

also I do have Krull now, just need the LD for this to make this work.
