I've watched it all the way through and think this is a terrific restoration. How you pulled it off I don't know. Look at the studio released CAT PEOPLE and barf at the smearing DNR mess. Then look at this and wonder why Team Blu isn't running those damn studios. They should.

Great job on the audio, encoding and even menus. It's just terrific. Now... I am not a fan of this film. Really, it's so bad. But in a usually fun kind of way. If you would take care of one of MY 80's favorites I would worship Team Blu for all time.

 And what would that be?

DTS audio preservation .... UPDATE 07 May 2015 ... Work In Progress

What I CAN tell you is this ..... DTS started in 1993 so any movie before that year will NOT have it.  That said, it is not a guarantee that movies made after will as we found out with The Arrival which was Dolby/SDDS ONLY.

I can do a search DJ, and see what I can come up with.  I'm glad that you'll be getting audio wanted for the RH2 and BIO projects.

Cheers!!!

:)

So 1993, that is good to know, thanks.

All 4 of us a re really glad to have these as well, I will get to work on them ASAP even though the Team is on break, at least I can get a jump on the audio, thanks again for finding these gems and sharing, it is appreciated by all!

Now a little rant lol, is anyone else having issues with this site? damn everything loads so darn slow, and what is with the space when you start your response? it seems to kick you over 1 space all the time lol, but the slowness is really getting very annoying, I can't be the only one noticing this lol, sorry just had to get that off my chest, I had to wait like a minute just to make this response, and hell sometimes it times out when hitting post reply.

You want to make a few additional dollars for the labour of making them. Go fuck yourself asshole. I do this for fucking free, not to have some fucking wanker like yourself making a profit out of all the work i, and others, have put into all of this. You want to share it, fine. But don't have the fucking nerve to try and make any money from them. Those scum bags selling other peoples fan edits/ preservations on ebay etc need shooting. They are dicks of the highest order. Crap like that jeopardizes everything we do. Studios start to see more and more people making money of stuff like this and they'll just come after the people that are making the fan edits. So fucking think before you want to make some money, when we are doing it all for free.

I know my words and language are harsh, and i apologise to everyone else. But people like this make me sick. It goes against everything i do these edits for. But when i see people wanting to make profit of work people are doing for free, then it gets my blood boiling. People like this and that fucking wanker OCPmovie, or to give him his proper name, garrett gilchrist, think it is acceptable to sell other peoples edits, then they can go fuck themselves. I don't want to do all of this work and then have the studios come after me and shut me down, wasting years of my life working on this edit, because of some dick that decides its ok to make money off it.

Very nicely put Ady, and to me you were not harsh enough, I fully 100% agree with you on this, hell I have already seen a Team Blu release on ebay for $40! damn I would love to pile drive this shit into the pavement lol, we do all the work fixing the video, making those custom tracks, sharing our artworks, full professional BD authoring, and then some asshat makes money off it, truly frustrating to say the least.

Hey Shawn,
I am almost afraid to ask, but are there any Cinema DTS CD's available for Shocker, Rapid Fire and Showdown in Little Tokyo? if it is to much then don't worry about it, I really do not know what you have to do to track these down or what is needed, but I have these HD files now and having these tracks allow us to include a DTS-HD MA main track, thanks again for Bring it On and Rush Hour 2, damn I want to finish these up right now lol, especially RH2, I bet that is going to sound fantastic! hell I bet the Bring it On track sounds sweet as well.

Thanks again Shawn

I'm never really not liking ideas I see for covers as I think there is a huge wealth of talent on this site with regards to these things.  That being said, as I looked at this one there was 1 thing that left me a bit off .... on the front it says "Big Show, Big Shape, Big Chest, and a Big Cheer" ...... what was it about that line I didn't quite get ..... "Big Chest".  I am a guy who likes girl boobs so don't get me wrong ..... I'm down with that.

To me, it over-sells what is already there with this movie.  If it had said "Big Dreams" .... I would probably never have blinked on that one phrase.

This is not a poo-poo of the artwork or it's author ...... I love it ...... I just didn't think "Big Chest" added anything to what is there as a whole.

:)

These are just WIP's, this kind of does seem weird lol, it might get changed, we will see when the final rolls out, so there are actually fans here of this flick lol? I thought I may be the only one.

I watched "The White Buffalo" tonight.  Nicely done Team.  It brought back memories of the night I first watched oh so many moons ago as a kid.  Gotta love Bronson with the shades and hat on ..... LOL.

I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to see this.  They could NOT make movies like this now ...... we don't have actors that could bring this kind of natural grit.

Cheers!!!!

Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it, it seems a lot of us enjoyed this as  kid and it still holds up after all these years.

It's the same director as the '76 Kong, so that kind of cheese is good when it's complimented by genuine heartfelt resonance.  This is what's missing from today's cinema and that more than anything is why I really miss the '80s.  They just don't make 'em like that anymore.  I have to say that when watching Team Blu's presentation of Sheena, it's really difficult to decide which is better between the 5.1 track and the original laserdisc 2-Channel audio.  They are both robust, solid and engaging... and yes, seeing this film in high definition wide screen for the first time ever was truly stunning.  Excellent, excellent work in both areas.  I'm a real sucker for a good man vs. nature story and Sheena is truly one of the very best.  Tanya didn't exactly make the greatest films and she's not the greatest actress, but none of that matters when you see this movie.  It's got heart, it's got action and it's got a super hot leading lady... and it's got lots of critters.  What more could any man ask for?  Really, really happy you guys put this thing together as it just made me a very happy kid again.  Truly great work and everyone should get this whether you're a fan of the film or not... you will kick yourself if this fades away and you don't have a copy in your collection.

Now this is great reading! I feel the same way, thanks.

This one turned out great.  I was really impressed by how beautiful the entire presentation was from start to finish.  Incredible audio without question.  The video is so crystal clear and vibrant... simply glorious.  Many thanks to Dark Jedi for including this one on the Spleen and to all of Team Blu for their magnificent work.  It is jaw dropping, beyond measure.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.  Anyone who doesn't get this one is a damn fool.  Bravo!

Thanks for the compliments, so did you take a listen to the custom 5.1 track? if so what did you think? plus isn't it nice to have this in its OAR? the only other time to have it OAR was in the very, very hard to find first pressing flipper DVD(which I have lol) glad you are liking it, I know I do for sure, the movie may be cheesy, corny, whatever, but it is a good ride and Tanya Roberts is flat out stunning in this movie!

DJ sure deserves a lot of praise for synching the LD audio to this one. I took a look at it and it was horrible indeed, he had to make hundreds of cuts and edits.

But I somehow don't think it's got something to do with overdubs because the out-of-synchs happen at parts where there's like just music and sound effects too. I think it's just the frame count in lots of shots that differs between the prints or something.

I watched this earlier and I immediately detected sound sync issues starting in chapter 4. From that point on the PCM and DTS seem to be ahead of the video by a few frames. Most would never notice, but I did. I'm incredibly sensitive to this sort of thing. The DD2.0 track is properly in sync, but sounds tiny and muffled in comparison to the other two tracks (not Team Blu's fault since it is crummy 192kbps).

The video on this is superb and mastering of the disc is studio quality. Menus are responsive and immediate to move. Chapter movements is perfect, as is scanning. The BD loaded super quick in my PS3.

I am a big fan of Team Blu and feel they are about as good as it gets for fan restorations, so I hope my comments are not taken as an attack or negative. I don't regret taking the time to snag this release.

Thanks for the review Matt, it is greatly appreciated, also thank you on commenting on the authoring(did you notice the little icon for the PS3?) we strive to be perfect but in the end we are no different then any other fan of movies here, I have already commented on how fucking shitty this LD PCM was\is and it took a lot of work to fix, I went over that with you in PM so no need to say it here.

Also thank you very much for the bolded underlined part, this is what keeps us going believe it or not, we all love these projects we choose and do, but at the moment we are all on a much needed break and probably will not get back to work until mid February or possibly the end of Feb.

Again Thanks

Perfect your final product and then move onto more restorations.

This a 100 times over, you should really do this, I mean you are all over the place with projects and seeing who is doing what so you can do it, posting screens for other possibilities, I mean really you should slow down and read that line from Matt a few times, this project was the first one I downloaded and it is messed up, for me to fix this it would have to be re encoded and re authored all from scratch, and I am not going to do all that.

So please take Matts advice.

*edit, and for the record I am not saying we do not make mistakes, we do, but so far I catch them before we release, we all make mistakes, but when you advertise a fully authored functional BD and it is not, and then do it again, this makes people very gun shy on downloading anything you share.

This was released at one point.  I've got it.  It's wonderful.

The mono track is just terrific too.  Made the film much more authentic, scary, and enjoyable.

I should say it's not without faults: the person who did this did add their own credit to the titles and credits in a way I find a bit obtrusive.

They did restore the red WB logo too...which is a HUGE plus in my book.

This fanedit was actually discussed over on blu-ray.com, and the general consensus was that this fanedit was terrible. I took a look at it myself, and I agree, It is sickly green, and like many others, I have a hard time believing that those were the original colors. It is highly questionable in my opinion. And the compression was awful on the mkv. He also slapped his name all over the edit - a very poor idea to feed his ego. I deleted it after just jumping around a bit.

He is not the only one on these forums that does that, I really, really hate that to, this is why you will never see this on our covers or our BD presentations, to me it really takes away and I do not even want it anymore.

What about the classic movie Midnight Run, is there any good HD version's of this movie that Team Blu could use for a future project?. I think it was released on HD but not on Blu Ray.

I have this on HDDVD, so there definitely is an HD file lol, I actually already made me a movie only BD of this, this is a great movie.

I am on a Windows 7 Pro PC and tried using ImgBurn, which immediately warned me the file size was too big for a BD25. So I tried an overburn and while it finished, playback via PowerDVD is troublesome. It takes a while to load and can crash the program (the same thing happens with THE THING). My PS3 won't play it at all. So I tried burning it with different settings. Same thing.

I then used tsMuxerGUI on the downloaded files and removed all the foreign audio tracks and outputed for BD just the film and English sound. That came to 21 GB. I then used ImgBurn to create a BD. That works much better in PowerDVD, though it still can freeze when scanning.

However it will not play in my PS3 (latest firmware).

I have created BD's from numerous fan restorations and the only time I have had any trouble has been with ESCAPE and THE THING so I would urge _,,,^..^,,,_ to do additional testing. BD authoring can be tricky to nightmarish. I'd love to enjoy both of those titles because it's obvious a lot of love went into them, but alas... I can't.

So this would not even play correctly creating a movie only file? there is something very wrong with it for sure then, probably encoder settings, but this definitely sounds like this is not in spec at all.

I have sent you a PM Matt with a suggestion you could try to maybe put this in spec and possibly work, but who knows, plus you said it is a little oversize?
