OK guys,I really want to get this out so you guys can check it out and tell me if it is OK or not,so I am going to attempt at Torrenting it on Myspleen,so this is a test,I have had serious problems with torrenting in the past, but I am going to try again right now,so if you guys can jump on it and lets see if I can get some decent acceptable upload speed,if not ,I will have to get it out some other way.
thanks
lets hope it works

I just want to take a second here and give a BIG Thanks to the people that helped me get this done,so here goes,

a HUGE Thank You to Moth3r and CW,without there input and help I would have given up on this h264 shit a long time ago, also if it wasn't for Moth3r I would have never gotten into doing HD2DVD's to begin with.

Special Thanks to Slark and Baby Hum,for the KICK ASS extras and the Howard The Duck OST complete with the 2 extended songs, and in GREAT quality I might add.

and to TheCassidy,Thanks man,you are very cool and very helpful, you really wrap up our projects with the kick ass artwork, sometimes it takes a while to get the art,but its always worth the wait in the end LOL,this guy has also turned out to be 1 HELL of a friend, keep it up man!

and last but not least, everyone in this thread that has commented, giving ideas, checked out the sample vob files I did a while back, and just keeping this goofy ass Howard thread alive.

OK I am back, just finished encoding Metallica HD2DVD project, but to answer some questions,I am still not sure how I am going to up this yet,I would like to torrent, but not sure if I am still going to have problems or not,or I could just put the files on rapidshare,if I was comfortable with newsgroups I could use that, but never have upped to usenet before, special features, none, its just a basic menu with play and scene selctions, but there are alot of extras in the dvd-rom folder, plus I dont know if I should up the SL versions or the DL,decisions, decisions.
also which version first,NTSC or PAL,I am leaning towards NTSC,seems to be the most requested.

OK I already went back and re authored the NTSC version, was not happy at all with the volume loss from the PAL to NTSC ac3 conversion, very very noticeable,so I converted to wav, normalised it to a much higher volume, and converted back to ac3 then added the delay, made a test DVDr,and now I am happy with it,no reciever cranking now LOL,and while I was messing with it,I added some menu music to the NTSC version, just not the PAL,no need to redo that one,the sound is great.
hopefully by the weekend I will be able to up 1 of these verisons, but I will be encoding Metallica Live in Seoul South Korea from Aug. 15 2006,that is my next project.

"and the sooner the better!!"

that would be very cool when it happens, because I do see some files that I would like to grab, but I dont because of the h264,the ONLY reason I got Howard The Duck,is because they didnt say in the title that it was h264,but hey,I am glad I have it now,and this is my first time watching it,and I must say,I kind of like it,but it starts to get goofy when the Dark Overlord story is brought in,the movie is really cool up to that point.

ac3 sound question
Time
can an ac3 sound file be normalised like a wav file,so I can increase the overall sound,I can do it very easily with Audition on a wav file, but if not I can load the ac3 into Audition change to wac(PCM) normalise, but can I take the normalised sound and convert back to ac3?
I hope I make sense with my question LOL
thanks

I never said my HD file did NOT have the credits, its just when I loaded my script into CCE,somehow the end is gone,NO text credits, but anyways I am watching the NTSC version now and it looks friggin sweet, and I am watching it on a 62' HiDef TV,using a OPPO upconvert DVD player, and I must say it looks better than some retail DVD's I have bought LOL
if credits bother you, than DONT download this when it is upped, like I said it doesnt bother me and I am NOT going to do another 80+ hours of encoding for a PAL & NTSC version, plus I have NO idea why it missed them anyways, like I said the video and sound still plays, just no text LOL,wierd

no problem dude,it is not my thread anyways,I didnt start it LOL.

also don't start giving me a bunch of credit for this project yet, after all my test DVD'rs went out I have spotted an error myself, and its on both the NTSC & PAL,dont know how or why it happened, but it did,and to be honost with everyone here,I am NOT going to try and figure it out and do 80 hours of encoding ALL OVER AGAIN,plus I have already deleted the source files off my PC so I wouldnt change my mind, its time to put this project to bed.
now with all that said, the movie is still very much watchable and very enjoyable, and to be honost I wouldnt have even caught this problem if it werent for me wanting to see who does the voice for Howard,I think Ed Gale plays Howard, but is he the voice of Howard also?
the problem with my project is after,Bev and Howard go off after there guitar jam session at the very end, while the credits are rolling, the screen turns black for the other credits to roll, but wait, there are NO credits after the video has stopped, but the music still rolls to the end,so in short, there are NO end credits for some fucking strange ass reason.

but I am happy with what I have, and to be honost for me anyways, when the movie is over,I dont watch the credits anyways, maybe alot of you do,but I dont.
so there you have it,if you like it grab it when available,if not it wont bother me if you bypass it,but I will say that this release has no logo's or station identification marks on the film like the screens posted at the beginning of this thread,it friggin looks FANTASTIC if I do say so myself.

sorry for the let down, but like I said earlier, this is my first and probably the last time I mess with .h264 encoded HD video.

Now to start working on a project that probably wont have any interest by you guys at all,but I am looking forward to it,it is Metallica Live August 15, 2006 From Seoul,South Korea HD2DVD.

OK I 'Think" I have averything done, just waiting on artwork and some more Dvd-rom extras stuff to arrive, the menu's are very basic and simple,I prefer to have MOST of the disc space for the movie,so dont expect anything fancy here LOL,I have both the PAL & NTSC finished (I hope)I have made up some sample dvd'rs for friends and family to test(NTSC only)they dont have a multi region DVD player,so I will test the PAL version tonight,so soon as I here back from them, and get the artwork and dvd-rom stuff, then I will figure out how to get this out.
the SL version will have a Dvd-rom folder with only the case, disc and NFO
the DL version will have the same as the SL,but ALOT more Dvd-rom extras, including OST,some vids, trailer(low quality)to bad baby hum didnt have his trailer available, and alot more.

a big thanks to everyone that has helped and added cool goodies to the extras, you guys here are great, keep up the good work.

below are samples grabbed from PowerVDVD,the scenes menu looks blurry only because it is motion.

NON-Star Wars Fan Edit and Alternate DVD Covers SHOWCASE
Time
I am sorry to for coming off so harsh, but this damn Howard project has got me very tense, this was by far the hardest project I have ever done, and it appears that I have gotten the two aspect ratios backwards,OH WELL,like I said,I am a newbie at this,I am still learning, and believe it or not,I still dont understand all the techincal jargon.
we at Dark\Cassidy Productions will try to make them right from here on out,so for the record,Howard The Duck is 1.85:1 correct?
and Night of the Comet, and Night of the Creeps is 1.78:1
if everything goes smoothly from here on out,I should have alot to release very soon.
sorry again for getting snappy, but like I said,I will be alot happier when this conversion is done and DELETED off my PC(the main files,NOT the finished project LOL).
I already have ALL my HD files back-upped already anyways,I back them up before even starting, just in case something goes wrong
stay tuned
DJ

also I wanted to appologise to who ever started this thread,it appears I kind of took it over,I hope I am not stepping on anyones toes, was someone else going to release this? or was it just a discussion thread of what if?

you know, now knowing that the AR's were indeed wrong, now it bothers me,because Cassidy and I are perfectionists,we try to do the absolute best on everythig we do,I almost wish I didnt know that, because now it will friggin bother me damnit! LOL

"Use AVC2AVI to put the H264 stream into an AVI container, and use AVISource(), as described on the previous page."

if you have the same file I do,I still think you are going to have to take a few seconds off the beginning, something wierd there NOT letting me encode, but the DirectShowSource() worked for me after taking 5 seconds OFF the start, nothing at all missing from the movie,so dont be alarmed, and I have the PAL video encoded at a 7 pass with 8000 avg(5.5 GB),now tonight I will start the NTSC version, then process all the friggin sound.
and THANKS ALOT guys for getting together some nice dvd-rom extras.
