JOHN CARPENTER'S HALLOWEEN: THE COMPLETE EXTENDED EDITION (Released)

well...
so there is the TV version and the theatrical version.
Got it and got them.
But is there really an official release of the theatrical edition INCLUDING the 12 minutes of extra scenes from the TV cut? Because if not then this clearly is a fanedit IMO. A version that is not commercially available like this.

edit: got clarification on it now. Apparently the limited edition contains the theatrical cut including the extended scenes. So, yes: custom DVD for me as well.

WHAT?

LOL like I don't know what I am talking about, glad you got your clarification.

LMAO!

And - it's a harsh fact, I know - but that is precisely what you are owed. The ability to read a forum on the internet and send private messages does not automatically entitle you to a copy of the latest fan edit.

Ok what does entitle you to an edit I ask?

nothing, just get it like everyone else does, either by newsgroups, torrents,or rapidshare
most people, but not all ditched the crappy ass PIF system a long time ago,me included, but that said, there ARE some very nice people still around here at OT that are willing to hook people up,that number is falling fast, but there are some very very nice helpful folks still here, with a little reading and asking, you will find them.

You know Dark Jedi! You may have a point, its sort of a hybrid like some of those other Star Wars edits. There has never been a complete cut with the titles, color corrected extended footage nor has there been a releases with a 5.1 soundtrack for the film. Our intention was to create an extended cut which was a compete release To my knowledge it never has had a complete release with all footage which includes the titles.

Thanks for your interest!

Mitch

Anytime my friend,anytime.

1 thing I noticed right off the bat is this, where you did the 5.1 upmix on the TV scenes you should of boosted the speech volume,it is waaaay lower than the normal scenes, very drastic, especially on a high end sound system(so for me,this is not good, but that is me,maybe noone else cares),and I want to look at the picture more,it does look a little soft, but I will look more into that tomorrow.

But hey,you did the work and that's cool, but the sound level problem alone is enough to keep me on the original sound(not the 5.1),hopefully no level drops there,I have not checked that out yet, will tomorrow.

The 4:3 menu's are pretty cool,why not 16:9 menu's?

"1. All television scenes, in anamorphic widescreen, have been reintegrated."

So where exactly did these scenes come from?
the same set that you got the Theatrical cut from perhaps?

"4. All scenes match, and there are no aspect ratio mis-matches or different-colored letterbox bars."

There shouldn't be LOL,these 2 cuts are on the same set in the same aspect ratio enhanced for widescreen TV's

Bring on some screens PLEASE

I think the main attraction here is the proper color timing, which is why I'm going to be grabbing this.

The correct color timing is on the THX 2 Disc Collector's Edition.
and this set has the 5.1 audio on the Theatrical cut, just not the Television cut,so is the title card the only difference here?

I still would love to see screens of this,I still think that is an awful lot of info crammed into 3.69GB's

Here is the set I am talking about RB:

And I am not trying to knock this, just trying to understand what is so "special" about this when all this is already on the above set.

I am a HUGE Halloween Fan(hell I have done 2 Halloween edits myself),I have bought almost ALL editions put out, just trying to see if I want to grab this or not,so I am just trying to clarify a few things is all.

Remember the second in the old trilogy had some good moments too but ended up being overall crap.

I lOVE Temple of Doom. And here's why:

1- I care more about the fate of innocent childreens than what happened to the ark of the convenant.

2- I love to hate Willie Scott

3- Short Round, not too bad for a kid in big movie IMO.

4- Non stop action, what a treat.

5- The darkest AND the funniest of the 4. (We...are..going...to...diiiiie!!!)

6- I like the fact that the movie is focusing (mainly) on one location.

7 - I like the fact that this movie shows us Indy before the event of Raiders, when he is just a man who want fortune and glory (and discover along the way that fortune is not the ultimate goal). And so I don't like the River Phoenix opening in Crusade where Indy is already a museum freak).

8- Mola Ram, best Indy bad guy. I mean, okay, Bellocq is a better character for sure, he's smart and all; but to the point he's almost a good guy. Mola Ram is just one dimensional bad guy, and I think it fits that movie very well.

9- I don't fall asleep when I watch TOD these days. Unlike Crusade.

10- That music during the sacrifice is so evil. Man, good job mister Williams.

11- Best Harrison Ford performance of the 4.

So, yes, Raiders is the best movie on a cinematographical point of view, no doubt about that, but to me TOD is just behind for its fun and for the ride treatment. THEN Skull... but I guess it is because I almost can't watch Crusade anymore.

Damn, that sums it up pretty darn good,my thoughts exactly,I loved TOD as well, very FUN movie!

So the onyl real difference is the title card and the 5.1 audio?

This 11 minute Extended version is available on the Limited Edition 2 disc set,and can you post screens,I would like to see the quality if that is ok,motion menu's,extended movie,2.0 & 5.1 audio, seems alot for a 3.69GB SL Disc to me.

but thanks for the work

my experiences with PIF is the same as Ady,but now I am a little more harsh about it,I have sent out ALOT more than 100 DVD'rs over the years, and sure there were alot of cool and nice people, but there were alot of ungratefull assholes to,and now I do not do PIF anymore.

There are just to many people wanting these fine Discs for nothing, and then do NOTHING in return,I see no problem with someone wanting to do a trade for a discs, most of the times it ends up a win,win situation for both people involved.

if you guys would just spend the time learning the newsgroups, torrents,or rapidshare instead of all this bickering for handouts you would already have the discs and have watched them a few times, and then see how you like getting asked by PM's 100 times for a PIF.

sorry for the rant but when I saw PIF in the title I just had to comment,PIF does NOT work it SUX!

I personally think the torrent and newsgroups are the 2 best solutions but Myspleen, no, it's too complicate for me and especially for v-ger06 (LOL).
Your DVD has to be accessible for all the world.

How in the hell is it to complicated, you get invited in,you setup a username and password, and your in,ALOT of people are getting it right now,and fast, why can't you?

this is not rocket science, very simple to setup and use.

man I upload to the newsgroups and people complain it is to hard,so I upload a torrent, and now this is to hard....I just can't win

For myspleen I have problems of connection. I'm registered but when I put my Username and my Password he says to me "Login Failed!". I click on "Recover it", I put my Username and he says to me "That username does not exist.". And I remind that I'm registered. I was right this site has a problem.

Then if this is what you get,you are NOT a member yet,you need to register first.

and you are wrong, the site does not have a problem, there are almost 30 people grabbing this ED 2 disc 1 already.

I'm inscribed on "myspleen.net" via this link http://www.myspleen.net/forums/ucp.php?mode=register but this site of shit refuses the connection from this link http://www.myspleen.net/login.php?returnto=%2Findex.php
What must I make ?
I want this DVD absolutely I'm made tired to search for nothing.
For "Grabit" it is paying. Now it is this site of shit that works not.
Really not fortunate.

I am not really sure what the heck it is you are trying to say,but I assume you are having problems with Myspleen, well if you think the site is "shit" then get the file from the newsgroups, because Myspleen is NOT "shit"

and Grabit is free,so not sure what you are saying there either.

and you say you are tired of searching, the searching was done for you,the The Evil Dead Treasures Collection file is on the newsgroups at a.b.multimedia.horror (This DVD is NOT available by torrent, yet,I am in talks with See No Evil on this one)

Evil Dead 2 Treasures Collection is at Myspleen (this file is NOT on the newsgroups)

So there you go,just go grab them.
