The only criticism I can give from the screen shots posted is that Obi-Wan's face does look quite red in the lightsaber duel pics. But really I agree that this is probably as good as the GOUT gets. Great job!
His face looks red even without the tweaks in that scene.

It seems like the GOUT is reaching the point where it's about as good as it ever could be given the quality of the source material available.
This is exactly what I am thinking.
So does it seem like it needs to be a tiny bit brighter? vbangle made the comment it looks dark(if I read it correctly that is)especially in the Cantina.
Well I don't know what to tell you Mielr, I don't see all this red you are talking about and I really don't like DrM's tweaks as of yet, it barely changes anything, and definitely not worth a new render and encode, like I have said, if more tweaking needs to be done make your suggestions to what you want done, because if WE don't come up with something soon it stays as is, there is NO way in hell I am doing a scene by scene, I really don't think it is worth it to me, I honestly can't see how you don't think this latest tweak is not better than "as is", but everyone see's these colors different I guess.
I mean I think these guys are suppose to be tan, they are in a desert for crying out loud, but look at the guys hands while Vader is choking him, they are not tan, look kind of pale white, couple more days and then I am jumping off this Boat with Dr M.
Obviously I would like to please everyone, but as Dr M has stated, it won't happen, LOL I should just take ALL adjustments to color, levels, etc. and such out and leave it GOUT only and let everyone do there own adjusting.
OK here are some more screens with the latest tweaks, buckle in because there are a few LOL, here goes,

DJ could you please show us what your current tweaks look like in a space battle shot, maybe the opening shot with the SD shooting at the Tantive IV, and then maybe a shot of the jawas on Tatooine. If you can.
Absolutely, and PLEASE request other scenes as well if it will help in deciding what to do, scene coming soon, eating some pizza right now.
More messing around,

^^ If that's the case, why not put the 8% boost that g-force left out back in? That looked good enough in the first two versions and they pleased most people.
because I am not sure if that alone is worth a new multi hour re render and re encode, it is hardly any noticeable difference.
Well personally I like some of these tweaks a lot better than the "as is" version, but as of right now it is staying as is, but I my have to do a V4 for my own personal viewing, but like I said, if we can come up with a tweak that most like, I will render a new version up, I am giving it a couple more days or so.
Thanks vbangle, I will probably mess with a couple more days and then that is it for SW, I have been tweaking a little more so I will post more snaps, I took the contrast tweak back out, not really doing much anyways.

I think no single settings will make people happy.
I am beginning to agree with you.
So what should I try next? I need some suggestions, I like the above tweaks, at least better than the "as is" version, but I have not looked at other scenes yet either.
Here are a few more pic samples,

Wait, what? I'm very confused.

The images marked v3 DJ have color tweaks? I guess I misunderstood.
Yes, I was comparing what I have been messing with, to what you are doing, as I said, I have not posted any V3 "as is unaltered straight g-force" pics in a while.
You are WRONG, I have not posted pics of the V3 as is in a while now, all the ones I have been posting I have been tweaking on, so that is a false statement.
DrM are you running your samples through g-force's script or is this just straight GOUT tweaking, because it has to be run through the script to, it may make a difference.
No I did not do any contrast adjustment, just trying to find an all around good fix that looks better than how it looks now as is, I will not do a scene by scene adjustment, that will just take to long and I do not have the patience for that kind of work, but what I have now, at least to me anyways, looks way better than how the "as is" V3 looks now, I could try messing with the contrast a bit and see what happens.
I am glad you did this, it just proves what I always thought, MOST people cannot see a difference, and you just proved that with this test, again I am glad you did it.
OH, and for the record, I couldn't tell either.

I posted it over there, when it should have been here. The DM's tweaked version makes the skin-tones look ashen. I didn't think it was an improvement.
Thanks for that but I need to know how my tweaks look as well, I just compared to his, from now on I will compare to the "as is" V3 render.
@ vbangle, Mielr, ChainsawAsh, starwarsfan8376, rogueOne and Sluggo, please check your PM's.

I don't remember if you ever solved the chroma issue with the Flunk-version, d_j, but this line in your script will help to reduce that problem:
mergechroma(blur(1.0))
Thanks, but these have actually been done for a while now and I don't think I will be doing these again, am I 100% happy with these? no, but I really like these ALOT better than any LD transfer, and I mean any, and the addition of DE's DD 5.1 rips from the LD's makes this sound great.
LOL, yes I did.
I will try out your new settings, but to me, I do not agree with you, this is not the best I have ever seen, Han seems just a tiny bit pale, and Luke's suit is not orange enough, but this is my opinion only, it does look better, but not that much at all to me, and definitely wouldn't warrant a re-render, again just my opinion.
Chewtobacca said:
DJ's shots do look good, but Doctor M's don't look half bad. Either would be fine with me.
Is there also a difference in sharpness?
Both were run through the same script(g-force) so no difference but the colors.
If or When we decide that the color needs tweaking you guys have to keep in mind that I will have to re-render and encode ALL again, which is really no biggie, my PC can handle it, but once we figure what we want for SW, then we can move on to ESB and ROTJ.
