Whew!  Thanks for the info h_h, that's a lot to digest.

d_j, would you / could you consider including some sort of "read me" file with these discs, or perhaps include something in the DVD menu, to illustrate the differences between all these tracks?

I'd volunteer to do it, but I think others here would be much more qualified to do it than me.

That is a GREAT question, and to be honest I suck at NFO's, and the static menu's are going to be short and sweet, no description at all(like who made them and what source etc.) just what it is, and you choose, so if anyone here wants to work up an NFO for me to include in the DVD_ROM folder that would be nice(it could be 1 NFO to cover ALL), but for right now all I was planning on doing on top of all the Thanking I already did, was just a blanket Shout out Thanks to ALL involved right in this thread, so if anyone is up to the task, that would be great, and we can PM back and forth for all details on who did what for what , etc.

I do prefer mine, of course, since I spent a lot of time getting it exactly the way I wanted it to sound (lol), but adywan definitely did a good job with it.  There are a couple places where the '04 surrounds don't quite match up with the '97 version (which is what he used for most of it), but really it's only a matter of splitting hairs--it never sounded bad, just different sometimes.  The main thing I don't like about the SE mixes is that the surround channels are always way too loud, but he must have corrected for that problem, because the only times they ever distracted me was when they added new sound effects.  Having discrete channels and stereo surrounds does sound nice, though mine are more 'authentic' with the mono rear effects how they would have been originally.

It's probably not a good idea to try to synch it with the GOUT, because it has already gone through lossy encoding twice, so that would end up with three stages of sound quality degradation.

Thanks hairy_hen, you pretty much said exactly what I was thinking anyways, your tracks do sound AWESOME!

1 more thing, I never even watched Ady's ESB Theatrical, or anyone's recent projects, for 1, I do not have most of them, and 2, I have been to damn busy with this set.

The old Edit Droid discs had isolated scores, if you're looking.

If the scores on those discs is anything like the ones on OCP's discs the score SUX bad, it is very flat, look at the wav form on that compared to the wav form on ABC's IE score for Empire, HUGE difference, and I have a feeling that is where OCP got his from, ofcourse he could have ruined them, I will have to check.

I used Ady's mix for my TESB PDE (which should be the same sync as GOUT) and I felt it was in sync but fishosaurus says that he thinks that while it syncs in the beginning, there is a 175 ms delay by the end. Now, this could also be an issue with my PDE video, so it may sync just fine with the GOUT but it's certainly worth paying attention to.

It is NOT in sync with the GOUT ESB, I just checked all along the time line, it fluctuates quit a bit, so I will not be including it in my Folder of tracks, I sure as hell do not feel like going through that and sync'ing it up, OH well, is there any other tracks to add or no?

DJ and ABC's Empire score-only edition is pretty fantastic.  It's not as cool if you don't watch the film in black-and-white with it, but it still sounds brilliant either way.

Not sure about any particularly good SW or ROTJ score-only tracks.

Ha, you caught that, I was just going to add that to the list of PCM's.

Please don't replace h_h with Ady's. Incorporate both if you can but don't remove h_h one - his mixes sound like sex. OK, maybe that's going a bit far.. :X

hairy_hens are NOT going to be replaced, the audio is set for the V3, I am just saying if it is real good representation of the ESB Theatrical then I would like to add it to my audio folder above mentioned, but I need to find it first.

How about Ady's Theatrical Reconstruction 5.1 mix of TESB?

Btw. it's awesome that you'll be doing the MKVs, can't wait!

Does Ady's sync up correctly? and is it better than h_h's mix?

I am not 100% on the MKV's just yet LOL, first I need to figure out how to do it, and actually try it out, but it would be better for me to do it with the lossless avi files as apposed to the V3 DVD's, at least to me it would.

also what was the base of Ady's ESB mix? and what was it on, was it the AVCHD or something different? I used to have it on my drive when I syn'd up DE's LD 5.1 files for the SW SE V2 Set, now I can't find it.

Those 5.1 mixes are the ones hairy_hen did, the "version 1" 5.1 was on the V1 & V2 Gout set, then he did the "version 2" a while ago, not sure what all the differences are, h_h if you read this could you please clarify all the changes, and then finally the "PURIST' version takes out all the music edits he did in "version 2", it puts it closer to the Theatrical, again, h_h will have to confirm.

How does the Six track reconstruction sound ?

On Star Wars i mean.

Will be nice to finally see a watchable version of the oot version of star wars with good sound.

The DVD release in 2006 was a joke.  So i cannot wait to see what you have done here.

I think it sounds pretty damn good myself, I am guessing you will like it, but at least you will have other options if not.

Small update for anyone interested, ALL audio is now DONE, damn is this nice LOL, so I have new PCM's of ALL, and encoded to AC3 2.0 Surround @ 256kbps, and ALL the previously released PCM tracks are now in perfect sync, no more will you have to add the delay, and the 2 spots in the ESB PCM has been repaired as well so once I release these, no more delay needed, it will sync right up to your GOUT projects as is.

Damn, now what to do?

I have not decided yet on the MKV file, no one has told me how to encode yet so for right now looks like only DVD's.

I think I remember from the PM from ChainsawAsh a while back he recommended Handbrake, but not sure.

Here is an update on the Jedi audio, it is almost finished, damn I can't wait, I am SOOOO sick of doing this audio it is not even funny.

Not to sound like an ass, which I am sure you are not either, but these will NEVER be to everyone's liking, plain and simple, I will look into this and see if it is really that bad, or if I even want to do another render\encode, I am not going to keep doing these over and over and over, if it gets to the point where people are going to pick apart everything, then I will just go with the original as is version that was done a while back, but keep in mind that version will have the crisp subtitles, not the blurred out new ones.
