I’ll say this about the last two seasons: they’ve left me with the urge to rewatch Seasons 1-9 again, if only to work out what my personal canon really is. Don’t know if that’s bad or good, but there you go.

I worry that I would ruin my memory of x-files if I rewatched it. I fear the alien storylines are painfully dated, and probably even the monster of the week (which we’re always my favorite) probably haven’t aged well.

TLJ has none of that mystery because it picks up literally where the previous installment leaves off, and that’s J.J.'s fault because he just had to have his dramatic ending and couldn’t tell a complete story

I really, really disagree with that and I don’t understand why its become such a common argument for TLJ.

Rian wasn’t forced into anything by JJ,

Rian was definitely forced to do certain things based on the way things had played out in TFA,

Ok. 😋

I guess it might have been interesting to do a time Jump. But so much of what was alluded to the end of TFA would have had to have been just ignored that I can’t imagine people would have been happy.

I finally caved and got a smart phone this year, but I don’t trust it to do anything beyond simple web browsing. I won’t even log into the forum with it.

Your wifi will not reenable itself (from being disabled) by itself, but it will connect if it is enabled and detects a wifi SSID you’ve connected to before (if you told it to).

oh, but as long as software has bugs, and apps have bugs, and apps have the ability to control wifi, and bad actors exist, then yes, wifi essentially can ‘re-enable itself’. You trust the manual too much i think.

A guy at school (who is obsessed with military things) is trying to say that cavalry is pronounced like calvary (the hill that Jesus was crucified on). I pulled dictionary definitions with phonetics and sound clips and literally proved that wrong, but he still claims that “he knows what he’s talking about.” This is the same guy who is a Star Wars nerd and claimed Hoth was pronounced with a long “o” despite the fact that they say it in the movie.

His stuckup nature gets on my nerves.

didn’t know you went to school with practically every star wars fan ever (at least on this site)
