I think the implication was that Finn either A) would have been killed before reaching the weapon, or B) wouldn’t have been able to affect the weapon even if he’d made it. So his “sacrifice” wouldn’t have helped anyone at all, it would’ve just been Finn throwing his life away to get some measure of vengeance against the First Order.

This is my opinion as well.

I thought Darth Vader was the guy who choked the Pig Guards in Jabba’s Place, not Luke.

Did you just assume Vader was hiding somewhere in Jabba’s palace while like and co did their thing? I am curious.

Honestly, I’m not sure. I think as a little kid I just never connected the dots of what happened to Vader… or I just changed the plot to accommodate a scene of Vader showing up, speaking to Jabba, and leaving.

It’s funny how we accept things like that as children. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When I was a kid I only had The Phantom Menace and Return Of The Jedi on VHS, and I hadn’t seen the others, and I thought the Death Star II was what was left of the feredation ship Anakin blows up at the end of TPM.

I can’t fathom only having those two movies… When did you finally see the rest of the saga? (assuming you eventually did)

I don’t really remember, I started really getting into Star Wars between I and II, so probably in 2001, and at the time there were only those two VHSs at home. I think I then had The Empire Strikes Back (1997 SE) and finally Star Wars (1997 SE), before II came out.
So I watched them in a messed up order: VI, I, V, IV, II, III, etc…

Ahh, the classic “vegetable order” 😀
