THX Italian 35mm - Feedback thread

poita said:

Yep, it is not in my scans or on the film.

I have another little THX surprise I would like to share with anyone interested, but I need another 1GB of hosting space. If a couple of people could use infinit with my referral, it will get me the extra space I need so that I can share the file.
https://infinit.io/?referral=poita
They aren’t dodgy, just a very useful file storage service, and it gets me extra space to be able to share more files.

does just downloading count as the referral? that is what the link makes it seem like. it isn’t telling me i need to create an account…

Star Wars Despecialized Editions - Custom Bluray Set (Released)

I’m sorry if this has been asked before, but I’ve searched and haven’t been able to find an answer.

Are the 3.0 versions that Harmy is (presumably) working on planned to be the “final” versions of the movies? Also, do we know which Harmy is working on currently?

well, there will probably never be a ‘final’ despecialized, but 3.0 is going to be a 1080p project (2.x is 720p). The last update i heard was that Harmy is still working on ESB 2.5

“LUPITA NYONG’O HAS YET TO FILM HER MAZ KANATA SCENES FOR EPISODE VIII.”

Any thoughts on this?

The two options that the article offers as possible explanations both seem like logical conclusions. I don’t find it that intriguing myself. Hopefully Rian does something cool with Maz in VIII.

If someone had told me in 2004 that the dad from Malcolm in the Middle would turn out to be one of the best actors of the 2000s/2010s, I would never have believed them.

don’t know if i would have believed it, but i don’t think i would have been that shocked either. There were so many great actors in that series. well, 2 at least (and the youngest kid was an awesome character, so maybe 3)

Urge to break Impscum’s fucking legs in with a sledgehammer – most goddamn definitely rising.

His life is so pathetic that no one can do anything to make it worse.

If thinking that makes you feel good then by all means think so.

I know so. We all do. You’re the one lying to yourself.

One of us is obviously lying to make himself feel better. As long as we both feel better because of it, I don’t see any harm.

Goddamn cretin. I will literally jump for joy once the ignore feature’s back, knowing I will never have to read another one of your ego-masturbating shitposts ever again.

I really don’t know why anybody here still reads or responds to his posts.
Just do what people in real life do- Ignore him.
Then, I’m sure that’s easier to do to him in real life, where he keeps himself inside and closed off. It’s not like he’s down at the bar bugging everyone or trying to mingle socially. He knows that shit wouldn’t fly.

I don’t know what kind of bars you go to and people you meet, but around the bars I go to and people I meet, the only shit we have seen here that wouldn’t work is telling people you have an urge to “break legs in with a sledgehammer” and telling people (you don’t know) that their “life is so pathetic”.

What bars do you go to, Applebee’s? I don’t go to bars anymore, but that language was thrown around all of the time. My friends and I loved a good fight.

Jazz bars/clubs and such. Cultivated stuff.

Of course you think jazz is cultivated…

If there’s something I never want to see, it’s George Lucas role-playing as Princess Leia.

moving this thought over here, because even though Frink makes a good point, i also think it is worth considering that this could be a cool little easter egg for this film. find a busy scene and add lucas with hair buns somewhere in the background. maybe the medal ceremony? thats they type of scene that a directory would normally try to cameo in, right?

David Lynch’s films are simply awful. Nevertheless, he is a genius. Not in terms of film making but in terms of being able to convince so many idiots that his crap films are something special.

Just because you don’t like films that other people do doesn’t mean you should call them idiots. Grow up man.

You do not simply tell ImperialScum to grow up

i’ll allow it

Derivative of what? There were black astromechs in the OT.

http://www.angelfire.com/droid/astromechs/page11.html

well, i guess i may be wrong then, but it still feels derivative to me. on first glance it looks exactly like someone took R2 and put a paint job on him reminiscent of vaders shoulder armour from his reveal at the end of ROTS. thats why i called it derivative. but i suppose we have found prior art. its just, choosing the most reconizable droid, and giving him a new paint job, isn’t what star wars needs in these new movies. or isn’t what i want at least.

Why would it be out of character for Yoda to enforce monastic celibacy?

Because strength in the force is supposedly inherited.

Duh, why do you think Leia can use the force when she don’t even want to? No training but she’s strong in the force. It’s cause she inherited it from her father.

um, what? you ask a question, Puggo answers it, and then you take his response completely out of context?

“IAN MCDIARMID CONFIRMS HE’S NOT IN ROGUE ONE”

I kind of hope he isn’t, mostly because we have had too many movies with the emporer already (lol, honest typo that i am consciously leaving as is). even though for the time-frame it would make sense to have him show up (he was in ROTS, even though he doesn’t appear in SW, so if you view the entire cannon story he should be around somewhere). A very brief Vader encounter is about all i want to see of the usual crew in this movie.

Well, at it seems people will soon be able to buy an action figure of an “Imperial Ground Crew”, which I personally find really funny.

The reason we’re getting this figure is, this is the imperial costume (minus the helmet) that Jyn wears at the end of the original Rogue One trailer. It even comes with those batons she likes to fight with.

i think you might be on to something there.

Drive (2011)

Such a great movie. This was my second time around and I think I enjoyed it more, not being slightly overwhelmed by the violence like I was in my first viewing. So many sequences and elements this film are almost tailor made for me. I love how ultra-stylish many of the shots and scenes are, how well the music compliments the visuals, how cool Gosling is, how relaxed and long a load of shots are, how tightly paced it is, how pure the romance is, how moody the atmosphere is…my only complaints are that the dialog is a tad clunky and that it lacks some emotional impact towards the end.

I think I had a similar reaction to your first one when I saw this in the theater. Perhaps I should revisit this one soon.
