another series where a youngish actor/writer that i have liked a lot in the past was given their own show. I thought it has some parallels to Master of None in that regard, and it has also been out for a while, so it would also parallel in your being late to watch it. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/atlanta/s01/
Anyone like Master of None? I’ve watched the first few episodes, and in some ways it’s a fairly formulaic sitcom (for a present day non-laugh-track sitcom). But Aziz has a great spark, and his Indian background gives him some new ground to mine. His parents are great, for instance.
(And yeah I know I’m way behind the times on it)
Yeah you’re waaay late but it is great. Best part is it gets even better in the later episodes.
Can’t wait for the second season.
I third that. Really impressed by Aziz through that show. It does start out a bit weak like you said, but it has heart (as they say).

VHS is better until you want to watch Tron with your brother and a mutual friend late on a Friday night but the player in the bottom of the TV violently shoots the tape back out at you, making you too scared to use that player for a while.
Just kidding, VHS isn’t better, but the rest of the story is true, and perhaps my favorite story of my early-double-digit-years.

another reason VHS is better: it is easy to tell if it was rewound. impossible to tell with DVD and Blu-ray. Not sure about 4K blu-ray, i haven’t used those yet.

My take on the Bendu: I didn’t really like the character as he pretty much ended up being another one of those “neutral” characters who only help the good guys. He called himself the One in the Middle, either meaning he didn’t draw from the light or the dark OR he used aspects of both, which makes him a bit of a hypocrite. I would have loved to see him interact with Maul but when the opportunity presented itself he disappeared.
I hear you. I was curious to see what they might do with the Bendu, and it was sorta cool, but i feel like it just kinda went the easy way and he ended up dead (as dead as a Force wielder can be). Do you think we will hear from him again?
JEDIT: yes, you are absolutely right a Maul interaction could have been interesting. see if he really is in the middle.

Has everyone decided where they are going to get the Rogue One blu-ray/DVD? Anyone going for an exclusive? I’m most likely getting the Steelbook.
Yeah I dunno. None of them stand out to me, and when I upgraded to the Blu-ray of all the star wars I got the steelbook because I couldn’t stand the saga case and artwork (young Ani on the cover? No thanks). So with no other Strong reason to choose, it’s probably going to be another steelbook.
on second thought, if i pre-order the standard bluray set on target today, i get a 5 dollar target gift card. that makes it the best price by far. (as far as i can tell, this offer ends at midnight tonight.)
JEDIT: nevermind, that gift card barely cancels out the required shipping and handling fees (no in store pickup for pre-order).
I’m trying to figure out why Amazon still doesn’t have any pre-order inventory. I have Prime so that’s definitely the most affordable and convenient option for me. But I’m probably not going to watch it for a month anyway, so it really doesn’t matter.
That does seem odd. i finally put in my pre-order through best buy. currently they have it $5 off so i can get it for $25 with in store pickup for free (i am getting the steelbook). if someone ones wants the movie the day it comes out, this is probably the way to go. that or wait and try to pick it up without the pre-order…
The final two episodes were fantastic stuff. Much better than the prequels or ROTJ 😛
finally saw them last night, and yes, it was fantastic. The battle sequence felt like it belonged in a movie, all the star destroyers bombarding the rebels shielded base… felt more epic to me than any of the prequel battle sequences. i loved it.
i’m much more of a rook anyway.

I agree, and, it is not Trump’s fault. The Republican Party had 8 years to work it out, get a consensus, and go from there. Folks can’t just blame the new management for something the old one didn’t do properly and expect to sell it off as fact, ya know.

Is it just me or was the walking pattern of Vader in R1 noticeably different from OT. On lava planet, Vader’s walking pattern seemed like a fashion model walking on the stage. In contrast, walking in OT is much more “robotic”, which I like more.
Admittedly, I only saw R1 once and my impression could a bit incomplete.
i think you are right that it doesn’t seem like Vader in that suit. I won’t see it again till i get the BD, but i recall the character seeming wrong in that scene.

I definitely makes sense to put him in the film to tether the worlds of both together, but the plot of the original film doesn’t necessitate Vader being at Scarif, for instance.
I’m not saying Vader shouldn’t have been in the film I just mean to say that, if he’s going to be in it, he should have been a bit more consequential to the story. As is, neither of his scenes really accomplishes all that much.
