^trying to give your comment the benefit of the doubt, but that sure seems like a shitty fat-shaming thing to say.

What? My reaction to this would be the same as me reacting to someone injecting muddy water into the veins of their penis. Shit is just nasty on a universal level.

well that isn’t what you said. if you had said that eating ketchup (or drinking? not sure how to refer to it) is just nasty and will probably kill you, that wouldn’t have sounded like you want fat people to die. just saying.

Automated color grading and color matching with a Machine Learning Algorithm

Wouldn’t this need some sort of feedback loop / evaluation in order to ‘learn’? or maybe that is a distinction between machine learning and neural networks? But it just seems common sense to me that this thing will only do a good job on color matching for new unknown frames if it has some way to evaluate the choices it made. (but then again, sometimes common sense is wrong about these things).

I just thought I would have a conversation with a few people knowledgeable about the subject. I didn’t know it was already talked about and was to never to be brought up again. I thought people here would enjoy talking about it.

I don’t want you to think i was just snarky, but i did literally google that entire phrase i quoted, and it gave me a full page of useful search results that would answer your questions. Now, if you want to discuss those various preservations, the best thing to do would be post in a relevant thread in the preservation sub-forum.

JEDIT: this will be useful: http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Project-Index-Star-Wars-Preservation-and-Other-Projects/id/2450/page/3#1042669

not to belabor the point, but there are some close parallels if you consider ‘women only’ swimming times at public swimming pools:
https://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/01/opinion/everybody-into-the-pool.html

I believe the legal question would be if having select women-only screenings would be ‘reasonable accommodation’, and i would think it probably is.

Nothing to see here except people who get mad at anything they can label political correctness.

The Alamo is not shutting out men from every screening, just a few. A man who wants to see the movie at the Alamo still has every opportunity to do so.

i don’t understand why anyone could have a reasonable complaint against one or two women-only screenings…

I mean, really? present an argument that is something more than whining, i can’t think of any.
