I have never seen Captain America winter soldier for the same reason. I slept through large parts of it both times I have tried watching it.

I agree with a lot of what you’re saying but I do think you need to give Discovery a few more episodes to find its footing. It would be nice if that wasn’t the case but it seems like it is.
And I just saw the second episode of Orville last night and I think I mostly agree with what you have to say about that as well.
I don’t really laugh at much of the attempt at slapstick humor in the Orville , but I do find the overall pacing and theme of the episodes to be more of the track I like than Discovery has been.

Well, the night shift guy I’m supposed to be in the final stages of training - who is a friend of a friend that I got in here because we desperately needed someone for night shift and he was the only one to respond to my Facebook post - is now 2 and a half hours late. Tried texting him twice and called him 5 times now, and no answer.
Plus the first shift guy is going on indefinite medical leave starting Monday, and the girl who’s on essentially a floater shift (between first and second) already covered nights for 2 months before we got this guy in, so if he’s fired (which he probably will be) after tonight, that means there’s only 2 of us in the lab now.
Which means I’m going to be stuck on 12-hour night shifts 5-6 days a week for at least a month now, and that’s assuming we manage to hire someone for third shift, like, tomorrow. And that they work out.
I’m so very fucking over this shit. I want to get back to my normal noon-10 shift, which was supposed to happen on Monday, but now god fucking knows when or if that will ever happen.
I guess at least I’ll be able to save a lot more money while I have no time to do anything but work and sleep for the foreseeable future.
That really sucks man…

Also, had a funny feeling about an hour ago so I looked up the county jail inmate records (he’s in a drug court program and NA and has to have a court hearing every Thursday) and guess what? He’s in jail until Sunday.
Guess that explains both the no call and the no show.
damn. i can certainly relate to the frustration of not having enough people (good people) as coworkers, but i have never had that kind of impact from it on me personally. hope something gets figured out soon!

I mean it sounds like a total pain in the butt in even trying to access the site, especially with all of the people coming here and asking for invites. Wouldn’t it be simpler if the files were uploaded to a more public site where everything isn’t invite only?

if you read a few pages back (maybe more), njvc pulled his publicly posted files after all the crap that was being sold on ebay etc. I don’t envy him, feeling like your work work has turned into something that could get the wrong kind of attention is not a fun feeling.

Which is odd, because my wife loved that it reminded her a lot of the Kelvin movies. However, she does have love for other Trek (VGR especially), so she has some other investment in the whole Federation/Klingon culture.
yeah, i am pretty sure if the plot wasn’t Klingon centric she would have not wandered off. to be honest, i also disliked the Klingon centricness of it (but liked Voyager). good thing that my wife and I have some things in common 😃
