MOD2 - was trying to sound hardcore lol! (Im not at all) yup its modern warfare 2 - i've been playing mostly Alan Wake or ODST at the mo, only done a few levels of it.
I like the mute anakin with James Earl Jones voice box modulator thingy - how about if he says (in James Earl Jones voice) Yippee! after everyone says something - that would be far less annoying than most of his dialogue.
Edit: DOH! JEJ means James Earl Jones? - only just worked that out - sorry makes me look a bit like Ric Olie!

just started really, after giving up on a load of rpg's (rpgs's not my cup of tea)
I've now got 3 i like:
Halo ODST : never played the other Halos and heard this had all the multiplayer maps and a campaign thats not linked to previous games.. so far i die a lot in mulitplayer! :(
MOD2 - not tried mulitplayer yet
Alan Wake - I like this, didnt think i would after the first few minutes but its more like a CGI movie with interactive bits - which can be nice if im not in FPS mode.
Alien Breed Evolution episode 1 - Great, isometric type diablo thingy with guns! but in 3D - reminds me of ALIENS movie

I got the xbox for Fallout 3 but oddly enough its my least favorite now, theres just too many rpg elements in for me - would be cool if it was a free roaming FPS - RPG lite.
Didnt like borderlands much either.

Back to the point of my message: I've been trained to land on a death star, moving or stationary. Now taking into account how ineffective we seem to be at anything except formation flying...my question is how am i expected to dock at a space station i cant see properly, none of the flight regulations or supplementary pilots manuals mention how to detect Death Stars in Stealth mode?

This weekend i was pondering wether or not to start a few edit projects of my own...
I like TMBTM's War of the Stars! amongst other things i liked how all mention of Lukes father was cut out of it, for me it made the scene at Ben Kenobi's house go smoother and makes Luke a stronger character i think, i liked him more that he wasnt trying to become a Jedi because of his father.
soooo, i thought it would be cool to take out the whole family theme from empire and jedi too! - I think this would make the original films more like a serial in format (not better films just my edits of them) - so with this in mind, I would have the emperor removed from return of the jedi, and have him appear as a hologram instead (who doesnt get thrown down the shaft, that would just be silly!) - but with reduced dialogue. - Thus leaving the ending open for further episodes (obviously there won't be but that doesnt matter)
Not quite sure how im going to do it yet, or what im going to do about the emperor firing lightning at Luke, but Luke vs Vader duel would still be there - (tho reduced) it would make the ewok celebration at the end more of a celebration of the end of Vader instead of the sort of unbelievable, harsh, quick exit of the Imperials that the victory celebration implies. Leaving the Emperor quite safe (unfortunately for the Rebels!) on Coruscant.
Anyway, id start with empire first and see how that goes!

This weekend i watched some of the episode 3 cuts that are mentioned on the fanedit.org website. They are all massively improvements to the original movie.
But I'd love to see a cut of episode 3 without the whole Padme dying in child birth plot, so eject the dream sequence and anything related to it, remove her going to mustafar and remove the "what do we do with the babies?" scenes. And Whats left just shows enough of her for us to see shes pregnant during the movie. Without taking that plot too far.
Would that work? Is there enough else going on to cause Anakins fall? and wrap up the story, such as the war and that being a jedi isnt like how he thought it would be - and that the jedi council openly dont trust him due to his relationship with Palpatine?
I need to buy the DVD first and get back into what movie is like - as i cant remember much about it. Plus all i've ever done editing wise was chop up scenes in the movie editor that comes with windows.
How about using FRAPS or something to record in game footage to use in the film? - it can be used to save stills and video.
Hello, This sounds pretty good - I only saw the original version once, but this is excellent material for a grindhouse style makeover.
The cell shading (is that the term?) u used in the image above looks good and its an effect ive not seen used before in fan edits.
How's it all coming along?

I think this is an excellent idea, as much as i admire the work that people put in to creating fan edits of movies, (and this is just my view) I was disapointed that GL wasnt as successfull this time around with the Prequel movies.
and although many people have come up with impressive edits they are all limited by what was originally filmed.
I think a forum for people to work on new scripts or novels for the prequels would be great and allow for more exploration of the star wars mythos and essentially unlimited imagination.

I agree with what someone else said above (sorry im bad with names).
When obi wan says.... jedi were the guardians of peace and justice...before the dark times, before the empire... ie....a longer period of time than 20 years.
In my mind before the PT arrived. I imagined the backstory as thus: The Empire had been in power for a loong time, since before obi wan was born... if people in star wars have relatively the same life span! - The dark times refers to the period of time since the republic fell/crumpled and the time before the empire arrived.
Obi Wan grew up in the time of the empire - then came the clone wars which was an event much like a civil war - when battles were fought possibly by people who wanted freedom on one side versus the empire on the other that had an unlimited number of clone soldiers at its disposal (the thought of droid armies never even crossed my mind).
During the war - Obi wan a soldier who is also a jedi knight, respected by those that have fought with him in his unit. thus is promoted quite fast up the ranks untill becoming a general. But.... generally (no pun intended) jedi knights are not a well known order. They are often misunderstood, disrespected by those that havnt been in direct contact of the force manifestations - it is very rarely that force sensitive people are encountered. Thus Obi wans surprise when he encounters Anakin Skywalker who he senses is also force sensitive. Yoda is an ex-teacher, who doesnt think of himself as anything special but once taught obi wan.
...maybe have yoda in episode 1 but then he makes no other appearance until empire strikes back. The story then follows Obi wan - and his experiances in war as a solider and as a jedi practioner. Who then meets Anakin a brave pilot - the two become friends, Obi wan teaches Anakin all he knows about jedi techniques in order to compliment his pilotting skills as well as infantry type skills - Anakin too rises through the ranks with Obi wan - but where Obi wan remains at peace with his position in the scheme of things... hmm sort of. Anakin becomes disallusioned, and is no longer sure why he is fighting or what the point of it all is for - after seeing comrades die etc.... he starts to use the same tactics that the empire uses, eventually using the force to help him inflict more pain on the enemy soliders/clones.....thus betraying the core belief of the jedi.
Using the force in a state of high emotion allows the force to take control of him, thus losing his grip on reality - he becomes a product of his own hate - the emperoer somehow senses this disturbance in the force - the emperor unknown to anyone else is the last Sith Lord - and realises the potential of Anakin, although the emperor disguises himelf to walk amongst his subjects unknown. He befreinds Anakin as a kind of wild card element that is the opposite of Obi -wan and manipulates anakin.
Obi wan realises that anakin has become "lost to the light" and tries to save anakin from himself, only to agravate him more untill Obi wan is forced to defend himself... they fight......da da da....anakin falls in lava.... the person that survives is darth vader...."the transformation is forever burned into him..." The emperor reveals his true self to anakin they join forces - Anakins betrayal of the free peoples ends the war and he slaughters the rest if the known jedi ......thinking that obi wan is also dead... but anakin and the empire never knew of the existance of Yoda....so what has become of him? ...you find out in episode 5.
You dont see the suit of darth vader before episode 4.....episode 3 ends with anakin skywalker in a hospital type ward being healed...possibly suspended in a bacta tank? ....fade to credits.
no mention of Darth...anyone.
