OK a huge special thanks to our Team Blu Capper! I did a quick glance over of our The Warriors HD file and it looks to be truly theatrical, the spot lights look correct and there was no zoom in on the dude that was going to shoot a Warrior, so stay tuned for this project soon, however we need extras, does anyone have anything at all worth throwing on this BD to make it even more special?

Thanks

This is fantastic news! There are some deleted scenes floating around the net, they are not released officially anywhere. Do you have those yet?

I had to buy the OOP DVD years ago for a big price for a new copy.

I got it used (like new) off of Amazon last year for less than $6 shipped.

I thought the picture quality was great. Haven't seen the DC, do not wish to.

Agreed, the picture quality is surprisingly good for such an old DVD release. Believe me, never watch the DC. Nobody seems to like it much, if any... The sad fact is that the DC actually removes more than it adds! WTF? Last time I checked a DC was supposed to add more than what was originally there, most of the time anyway. If I was Walter Hill, I'd be ashamed and try to erase the DC from existence, it's really an embarrassment.

Ackbar's is missing the word "say."

And R2 is missing the prefatory article, "Chirp!"

Aside from that, the fact that the first two make no grammatical sense sort of deflates the running gag.  Whoever ordered the portraits failed to Establish the Rule before Breaking the Rule for Comedic Effect, making the whole thing too confusing.

 I agree.

I think Jedi is pretty important to preserve considering how butchered the film was with all the special editions. It was my favourite of the three as a child but now I think I like them all just the same.

I share this opinion, I do not like Jedi any less than New Hope or Empire. In some ways it is my favorite, in others it is not. I always feel like watching all 3 together and feel weird if I only watch one at a time.

I think it would be weirder for me to watch all 3 together. Sounds like a mess ;)

Yeah, I don't do it often, but after I finish one film I always wanna start the next as soon as I get done with it. haha I don't always though. Just sometimes.

I think the worst thing changed was the ending at the beach... cutting off that loooooonnnnngggg walk while the end credits rolled? NOOOOOOO!!!!! That was one of the most memorable things in the film.

I'd say that losing the slow reveal of the Baseball Furies was a much bigger sin. The original version of the scene builds those guys up to be scary as hell and makes the Warriors look like they SHOULD run, while the DC version just uses the lame comic book transition to drop you in the action too fast, ruining the tension that was present before.

Yeah, that was terrible too! Maybe that was worse. Both are quite bad though.

The Warriors (1979) 1080p HD Theatrical Cut (Released)

I wish someone would create a theatrical cut using this file and the Director's Cut BD, I HATE the Director's Cut! Make it go away! haha

I think the worst thing changed was the ending at the beach... cutting off that loooooonnnnngggg walk while the end credits rolled? NOOOOOOO!!!!! That was one of the most memorable things in the film. This is one of my all time favorite films, I refuse to watch the newer cut anymore. I had to buy the OOP DVD years ago for a big price for a new copy. Been watching that for years now.

PS: I could provide the original theatrical audio in ac3 from my DVD if anyone needs it for this project.

I find it incredibly odd that I love music, opera, and film, but I cannot and have not ever been able to sit through a musical. I've seen all the great ones, and they just make my stomach turn.

I just cannot take a musical. It's like they are all bad to me. Maybe it had something to do with being forced to watch Cats or Sound of Music in my school days.

It's funny, because I like a lot jazz standards that came from Broadway plays, but I think it has a lot to do with who sings the song and who arranges it.

Then again, I think Leonard Bernstein was one of the greatest conductors of his time for classical music, yet I cannot stomach West Side Story.

Rocky Horror Picture Show, Phantom of the Paradise, Cry-Baby, Grease, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Forbidden Zone, Rock N' Roll High School, Bye Bye Birdie, Blues Brothers, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, old-school Disney musicals and all the 60's Beach movies are awesome! Most new musicals do suck though.
