Episode VII: The Force Awakens - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *
Time

Just still think 88 seconds is excessively short. All a teaser needs to do is set the premise and the tone of the movie.

Incorrect. A teaser is supposed to do exactly what the name suggests—tease the audiences and generate interest. A trailer is what gives a more detailed idea of the film's plot and/or characters. Personally, I'm happy we're getting a teaser trailer that is even this long.

And yes, I had a happy Thanksgiving back in October, the way God intended (Canada here) ;)

Discussion: What was (Or still is) your single favourite Star Wars toy?
Time

My Death Star playset and Millennium Falcon probably got the most use. I loved holding the Falcon by its front landing strut, balancing the ship on my arm, and "flying" it up and down the hallway.

Also loved this, especially the foam "swamp" which you can see Artoo sinking in in the picture. Many a figure disappeared into that dark pit :)

What did you think the Clone Wars were before you saw Episode II?
Time

As a kid, I was always fascinated by mention of the Clone Wars. It sounded like some ancient event cloaked in mystery, and lent an air of history to the Star Wars universe not unlike what we get in Dune with the Butlerian Jihad or any number of historic battles in The Lord of the Rings.

Later, having read the Dark Empire comics in the years between ROTJ and the prequels, I went along with the idea that the Dark Side caused Palpatine to rapidly age, and the clones in question were empty vessels for Palpatine to transfer his consciousness to. The Clone Wars were therefore an attempt by the Jedi to destroy all of Palpatine's clone bodies, and therefore limit his power (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Empire_I).

Harmy's THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK Despecialized Edition HD - V2.0 - MKV & AVCHD (Released)
Time

I feel like I'm late to the party. I had meant to take screencaps and give the time stamps, but alas I'm away from home at the moment and don't have the WP available. At any rate, I've only managed to watch the first 15 minutes or so but the one thing I've noticed that looks off is the colour of the blowing snow in the scenes of Luke escaping the Wampa cave and Han looking for him. The blowing snow in these scenes looks almost fluorescent blue, and does so on 2 different TVs and my iMac. I don't know if this is the same thing as the purple snow issue people have already mentioned, but just thought I'd throw this in. I can post images with time stamps later in the week if need be.

Otherwise, I'm loving what I'm seeing Harmy!

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Watched it... loved it.

If this is, in fact, an opinion poll, I liked the TIE explosion in the first clip to that of the second (the delay in the second explosion felt more natural). Other than that, I didn't really see a difference between the two clips. Ultimately, either version is spectacular... I can't believe you actually pulled it off this well. Makes me antsy to see what you do with the wampa :)

Thanks for sharing this Ady.

In OT she was memorable purely because of the well written character and greatness of the films themselves. Her performance did very little to add anything significant to the character.

Consequently, that were her first and the last big films in her career.

I guess you've never seen Austin Powers.

Mr.... Ehville?
