Ady, how about a new weekly still from ESB Revisited to look forward to? There are about 36 weeks left in the year. That would mean close to 30 some stills before the release in Dec. Is 30 some frames from a 2 hour movie too much to give out? It would be a great thing to look forward to once a week. I know we did it before. Just think about it, please.

Checking the message boards from my computer at work, people's user names and profile pics don't appear, and yet, based solely on the nature of the request, I could tell right away this must have been Sevb32.

Dude, has it ever dawned on you that if people are annoyed with your posts, then perhaps there's something wrong with what you're saying in them?  You've been asked time and again to stop asking Ady for things, and yet you seem mystified when you don't stop and people get irritated.

If I may make a suggestion, the next time you feel compelled to ask Ady for something, try to remember that HE DOESN'T OWE YOU OR ANYONE ELSE HERE ANYTHING, and that, as Star Wars fans, we're lucky not only for his edits but that he bothers to come on here and share his progress with us at all.

Edit: btw Ady, I'm loving the lastest screen cap! :)

Okay Ady, I gonna do the dick move here... If you could put a percentage on how much is done I think we deserve it.

You're absolutely right... you are being a dick :P  Seriously, "we deserve it"?  At least you were upfront about the nature of your "demand".

IF... your contributions to the forum are always thoughtful and well-intentioned, but you might want to consider trimming down the length of (and number of) your posts.  I find otherwise good comments/insights get muddled or lost in the lengthy commentary.

Also, just for fun, I challenge you to make a post without the use of 'quotation marks', italics, bold typefaceunderlines, or 'any combination thereof'.  ;)

Not sure if this is what you were trying to point out at the end of your post IF (when mentioning the vanes), but it looks as though the vane Luke is hanging from changes position between these shots relative to all the other vanes.  Whereas all the other vanes seem to be static between these shots, the one Luke's on moves.  The difference in position can't be attributed to the camera moving, as all the other vanes appear in the same position in each frame.

Sorry if I'm just repeating what you said, but it's a noticeable error, so I wanted to be clear about it.

I think Star Wars should be completely devoid of any transparent, floating, 3D projection computer interfaces.  I cannot stress how much I HATE those things.  It seems like every science fiction movie that's come out in the last decade just falls back on that concept, with no attempt at originality.  I'll take a computer like Mother from Alien over any TF3DPCI (like my new acronym?) any day of the week... at least it felt like a real computer.

I don't know if Ady can do anything to remove/tone down some of those floating GUIs in the prequels, but I'd cringe if one found its way into the OT.  As far as I'm concerned, holographic technology in the Star Wars universe should be limited to visual projections only (i.e., recordings, schematics) not user interfaces like in the above picture.

Please, oh please, let this be an optional commentary track on the disc :)

On a separate note, was anyone else disheartened to find that ricvoiceover.com was not, in fact, a real website?  Mr. Olie, I firmly believe you need to register that domain name ASAP.

I hate nitpicking your work Ady... you produce something far beyond what most of us could ever hope to achieve, and still we find fault in it

... and yet, I have to agree with those that think the Falcon looks a little "off" in that clip.  The physics of the ship are bang on (size, speed, trajectory, etc.); as others have pointed out it's the colour that seems to be the issue.  Some have said it needs more orange light reflecting off it, some say it should be darker.  Personally, I think it just looks too white.  The Falcon always looked dirtier/greyer to me.

That being said, the clip does look amazing, and as is would still stand as a terrific effect in the film.  However, you did choose to post it, so I'm figuring you aren't adverse to getting some feedback on it.

I haven't had enough coffee yet to comprehend this...

Love this line so much, I've added it to my sig.

BTW, good to hear from you Ady.  Any day I log on here and see you've posted with any sort of update is a welcome surprise.  Hope you're doing okay, and that taking care of your mum's affairs isn't too stressful.

arrive at sunrise, get changed, get captured and tortured in the late morning, Luke comes in the afternoon, everyone escapes as night is falling.

Sounds like a page out of Han Solo's daily "To Do" list :)

I do agree with you though, 005... I always thought the events at Bespin occurred overnight and into the next day.

Not to fan the flames of the debate any further, but I just wanted to say that I thought your treatment of the vane shot in ESB was terrific DE.  It's the kind of thing that, if it were worked into an exiting version of ESB, I'd probably feel something was different, but wouldn't be able to place it, which, to me, is the best compliment an FX artist can be paid.

And Ady... first you tell us you've actually got a filming unit in the U.S., and then that you're thinking of building a new vane.  Man, at this rate, you'll probably end up just reshooting all of ESB :)  Hope you don't bite off so much that you end up feeling like you're not progressing with this edit.

If you don't mind my asking, is the only reason you don't want to use DE's technique for the vane shot because you feel you'd be copying him?  Would this be an issue for you, DE?  Perhaps there's a code of conduct among fan editors that I'm unaware of.

You mentioned you were itching to get back to ESB:R a few posts ago... is there anything holding you up (lack of money?  time?).

It was to do with his monitor packing in.  However, Jacen has kindly posted him a good replacement from abroad recently.

Ah... I forgot about the whole monitor fiasco/debacle/incident.  Thanks ImperialFighter.
