In between level 6 or 7 for me.
In between level 6 or 7 for me.
Open matte almost always looks better even when it’s not director or cinematographer intended.
I just watched Donnie Darko for the first time. I had heard critical acclaim for the film for years but never got around to watching it. It was absolutely amazing. It’s the kind of film that can only be seen to appreciate. It successfully combines drama, comedy, science fiction, horror and experimental filmmaking flawlessly. The story was very original for once. There are so many things to analyze and notice. It’s the kind of movie that requires multiple viewings. The performances are all perfect and fit the characters exactly. But I think the most impressive aspect is the budget. They were able to do so much with less than 5 million dollars. So much intriguing and creative imagery is in the film. This is a film that I recommend to anybody, regardless of taste. It has something for everyone.
I don’t really like Airplane that much.
I am thinking about making a regrade of the new UHD Transfers of LOTR, so they look like the DVDs, in terms of sharpness and definition would it be worth it or should i stick to this version?
I would go with the UHD versions. They are definitely improvements.
No.
I was talking about the color grading which I think is an improvement over the original. It still has way too much DNR and EE though.
I’ve started rewatching The Owl House now that there are new episodes.
Thanks.
Godzilla (1998), Halloween: Season of the Witch, Mortal Kombat (1995) and Street Fighter (1994).
It depends on the episode length.
I’ve also been looking for the WOWOW version.
I have no problems with revisionism in most cases. Just as long as the original version is also available.
No problem.
I would recommend Topaz VEAI.
It seems no official HD version exists however I would recommend upscaling the DVD to HD as some software has amazing results.
I agree that Harry Potter is kind of overrated.
So would I.
44rh1n’s version is the Extended Edition with the color grading of the DVD.
I never thought Avatar was that great. It has a sort of cliche story with cliche characters and way too much CGI. That being said, I don’t hate it. I think that Titanic is a much better film.
The regraded version by 44rh1n is usually my go-to.
The D+ version of Voyage of the Dawn Treader is presented in the theatrical scope ratio while all other versions are open matte.
I’ve been trying to get a good VHS collection going for a while. A few days ago I was at a thrift store and picked up some rare ones I thought I could use for next to nothing each.
Johnny Test is that way too. I remember loving the first season but the rest were just abysmal.
Really good quality. Great job.
The original scope version of Avatar hasn’t been shown in HD.
Added the 1996 VHS of The Shawshank Redemption.
