I mean, if he was talking about a depiction of Christ coming down off of a crucifix, that still doesn’t make sense, because that suggests the actual Man didn’t actually exist.

I’m not sure sure what you’re referring to by this.

A crucifix is a depiction of a Roman cross with Christ nailed to and hanging from it. I’m saying the real Jesus of Nazareth, be He Christ or not, is not on the cross anymore, and the depictions of Christ on a crucifix are not real.

I’m saying that it makes zero sense no matter how you slice it.

Trump voter panelist: “If Jesus Christ gets down off the cross and told me Trump is with Russia, I would tell him, ‘Hold on a second. I need to check with the President if it’s true.’” https://twitter.com/NewDay/status/932579767202844672/video/1

That assumes he’s still on the cross…?!?

Whether one believes Jesus is actually the Christ or not (and therefore either Risen or still dead), I think we can all agree he’s not literally still hanging there.

I mean, if he was talking about a depiction of Christ coming down off of a crucifix, that still doesn’t make sense, because that suggests the actual Man didn’t actually exist.

All I can say is: Apple is decidedly not for me. As I said in Banned Users, putting Bootcamp with Windows on a Mac defeats the purpose; I build my own PC from parts, and I like being able to upgrade or replace various parts at will; the “walled garden” of iOS infuriates me; and I’m a gamer, so the PC market is a better choice.

I get the feeling this thread was created because of me. Because I ranked the Star Wars films largely in the order of frequency with which I had been watching them at the time.

It wasn’t. It was created long before you posted as frequently as you do. It was posted directly in response to a since-banned troll user named Bosk that created a thread titled What Didn’t You Like About TFA? so that he could repeatedly make the same complaints over and over again about how TFA was the worst film in recent memory.

Oh. I remember that thread.

Apple is vanilla. It’s easy to use, if you use it the way Apple intends you to use it. But that’s about the most going for it.

I’d argue against your vanilla point, as if you actually used an Apple product, they’re very opinionated in their design of things

See; iPhone 7 headphone jack.

Yes.

Also, Google’s Pixel 2 has no headphone jack anymore.

I have a Moto Z Play. Before that, I had a Motorola Droid Turbo; and before that a Droid RAZR M. Motorola seems to use fairly stock Android, and I find that I like stock (which means Samsung’s TouchWiz UX skin bugs me). I do have a custom home screen app installed, though.

Z Play is somewhat midrange on specs, but the battery life is hands down amazing. My Droid Turbo had a 3900mAh battery, which at the time was the largest stock battery for a phone, but the 2K display ate battery so quickly you couldn’t really tell.

@yhwx I’m a gamer. Macs are not for gamers. Yes, Steam does have a decent Mac game library catalogue now, but it pales in comparison to PC.

And Macs are still grossly overpriced.

JEDIT: Also, on my Android phone, this is my home screen.

Some of those are folders; some of them are not. I can’t make an iPhone look like this. And that’s just part of the many issues I have with it. I can’t set Chrome as the default browser. I can’t set Google Maps (or Waze or whatever) as the default navigation app (ie. tap an address in Contacts and it opens Google Maps).

Apple is vanilla. It’s easy to use, if you use it the way Apple intends you to use it. But that’s about the most going for it. In my opinion, beyond that it’s just hype and brand loyalty. I’ve heard several people claim that Apple is more stable, but I’ve also heard others argue the exact opposite.

JEDIT 2:

Trying to make things so that a wide cross-section of people can use a technology without reading a four-hundred page manual is not dumbing things down so that a monkey could use it. In fact, that’s pretty insulting to the people who don’t want to or can’t read that four-hundred page manual.

My point is not that Apple caters to idiots and as such people who like Apple must be so. My point is Apple is very user-friendly-centric to the point of blocking off certain customizations, both in the front end and the back end, that I desire (many of which don’t come to mind, but I could immediately point out with an iPhone in hand)—and in being so it’s simply not for me.

TV’s Frink said:

I’m proud to have been consistently confrontational.

And yet they thought you sane enough to make you a mod over at FE apparently.

That’s uncomfortably close to a personal attack.

It is not. Mods are not generally supposed to be known for being confrontational.

Could have fooled me. You still stepped in it because a lot of FE staff and members post here as well. We have enough drama around here as it is without casting aspersions on a sister forum.

I’m not casting aspersions. Now, come on, you’re taking me way too seriously here. I mean no ill will against Frink. I don’t. And I don’t have anything against FE, especially since I’ve visited their forums all of 3 times ever, and simply to contact a particular editor.

I was not being snide. I was picking on him somewhat.

There’s also multiple instances (first shown, I think, in ROTS when Yoda is chopping up clones outside the Temple) of a character throwing a lightsaber, the blade impaling a victim, and the saber staying in place just like a sword or other physical object would, rather than falling to the ground and partially bisecting the victim.

When watching TFA, during the scene on the bridge, I had the thought about how a normal saber would have just cleanly impaled someone, but Ren’s saber was continually sparking random bits of plasma up inside Han’s torso, burning the rest of his insides as it was held there.

I don’t know. I understand there is racial prejudice and inequality, but at the same time one would think a person on parole ought to learn to keep their head down.

Like, the culture black Americans have developed among themselves is also not faultless. There’s more to it than simply that the justice system is unfair to them due to their race. It is unfair, but it’s not the only factor.
