Theme, meaning like a setting or a story or something like that, added to make the game not simply abstract gameplay.
I understand the desire for a theme, but chess is actually very heavy on both tactics and strategy.
I just can’t get into the looking-10-moves-ahead business. I can strategize what I’m going to do, and in general if you do this then I do that, but I can’t plan out multi-layered tactics to counter the next 5 successive moves you might make of a possible 300 tactical options available to you.

I find my earphones in the bed all the time. I like to listen to music as I fall asleep and my wife does not enjoy it.

I play board games, but generally not chess. The main problems I have with with chess are how long it can take to play a round, and that there’s no theme. I like theme. Plus, I’m better at tactics than abstract strategy.

Piqued my curiosity, so I watched it on Youtube. Yes, that was awful, but not as bad.
First, either Roseanne very obviously can’t sing so any attempt by her is going to be bad, or else she was deliberately butchering it. But she’s Roseanne, so what do you expect? Second, she sang through it really quickly so the pain of listening was not drawn out.
Meanwhile, Fergie is an accomplished professional musician. She can sing well, and she should know better. She didn’t butcher the song by sheer lack of effort like Roseanne; she tried to sing it this way. She practiced it. She even had an accompaniment track. Plus, she sang the song sllooowlly, and gave listeners time to realize their brain cells were dying while the torture was still less than halfway over.

Why do you guys care so much that the weapon isn’t fully automatic?
I think the point is: if we (as a country) are to regulate/ban guns, we should specify what specifically should be regulated or banned and how. If we (in the gun-control camp) are to argue effectively, we ought to be knowledgeable in our argument and not make ignorant generalizations because our ignorance lessens the credibility of our argument. Therefore, accurate knowledge of terms and functioning of equipment is necessary, especially so we are better capable of understanding why past or current gun laws were/are inadequate or ineffective.

I wouldn’t say it is required, but I could see it as being fun.
I mean why is it required that this country include shooting guns at the range as a potential pastime? Why is it mandatory that there be the option to include this as one’s hobby?

Since when is any pastime “required”? A lot of people have a lot of fun shooting targets. When you add semi-auto or auto fire, it is just a different way to entertain yourself than with single-fire manual-cock guns.

Started playing Pandemic Legacy: Season 2 with my wife and a couple friends. It’s a great game so far. Only played the “prologue” but so far it looks to be a lot of fun.
We played Season 1 a little over a year ago, and were given the option to name the ingame diseases.

To follow up, Warbler might be saying that from a patriotic perspective—with respect being shown toward the anthem/flag in mind. For me, I agree with him but from a musical perspective. It is not a pop song or blues or death metal or whatever. It was written to be sung straight, and to do otherwise ruins the tone musically.
