I hope everyone will stop saying “Breath of the Wild has no music” now.
The soundtrack is five discs.
And I want it.

Yes, BOTW does have music, but most of it is not catchy or at all memorable.

That’s totally false.

No it’s not. I assert that the most memorable music is that from the five villages, the castle, the title theme (in the trailer), and music played by Kass. That is, the non-atmospheric score. The atmospheric music might still aid to set a mood, and it might also be very good for what it is, but it is not catchy or memorable in its own right.

What I’m saying is the argument for wanting more non-atmospheric music in the game is not invalid. Yes, it’s just different but I miss it. I find myself hanging around Hyrule Castle and Rito Village a lot because I enjoy listening to the music so much.

You make a huge assumption by saying that people would get bored with overworld themes. If the problem is that almost the whole game is on the overworld, there could then be different themes for different regions. (Which is also basically the case in other games.) It doesn’t have to be just one Hyrule Field track for the whole map.

And besides that, the overworld in other Zelda games is not just the in-between place from a to b. Maybe just Hyrule/Termina Field is in Ocarina of Time or Majora’s Mask, but in most games there’s more to the overworld than a to b.

My pastor recently said the jealousy of God is comparable to the jealous love a person has for their spouse. And so God is jealous for you because he desires a close relationship with you.

I don’t think I can adequately explain my understanding of how Hell, being a permanent separation from God, is a default due to sin, and why no amount of “being a good person” in and of itself is adequate to overcome it.

Story time!

any time I’ve questioned it or even just not spoken in a tone that sounded convincingly enthusiastic or reverent, he gets pissed at me for “disrespecting God.”

God is not so shallow and predictable as all that. I would say fitting God into a nice comfortable box is disrespectful. He doesn’t care about liturgy for liturgy’s sake. If it means nothing to you, there’s no point in doing it. It’s important to have a relationship with God, but your relationship is yours. Not your Dad’s.

Not all the parts of the Body of Christ perform the same functions or can even adequately understand the value of the other parts. If liturgy means something to your Dad, that’s one thing, but if it means nothing to you, that doesn’t mean your relationship with God is flawed. It’s just different than your Dad’s.

Breath of the Wild’s music is mostly atmospheric. It only has a few big numbers (and I can only think of three that are not recycled), compared to the many that are available in other Zelda games. Case in point: https://www.zreomirror.com/twilight-symphony/

Yes, BOTW does have music, but most of it is not catchy or at all memorable. This especially doesn’t jive with how big a deal Nintendo has made in recent years about how important music is to the Zelda franchise.

…And, doing some research before submitting this post, I found out that Koji Kondo, the primary composer for much of the Zelda franchise, did not compose at all for BOTW.

Eww.

Pot kettle and all that.

You’re right. The hives I once got from eating expired, unrefrigerated peanut butter were far more viscerally distressing.

Who refrigerates peanut butter?

You refrigerate peanut butter? You monster…

Before right this minute, I didn’t know you could leave peanut putter unrefrigerated for long periods of time.

Apparently DE does.

Score one again for me not reading through before I reply. …In any case, peanut butter is usually made from peanuts, palm oil, sugar, and salt. You generally don’t have to refrigerate those ingredients.

Ok.

So why would you hate it then?

Why don’t you do another armchair diagnosis?

No. Bitter, are we?

lol, see.

but no, really, i just don’t know why you choose to return in this way. Meaning, you dug out a several day old post about a nonsense topic and started asking about it. I assume you had a reason other than antagonizing?

Because it was on the previous page? Because not everyone reads everything everyone says on a forum as soon as they are posted? Because this is the Random Thoughts thread?

Take your pick.

Maybe when you’re quoting old posts and asking questions of people, then you should read back to the start of the topic you’re actually posting about.

A single thread page and only 3 days previous does not constitute “old”.

Also “the start if the topic”? Do you mean the thread OP; or the beginning of that string of conversation? Because Random Thoughts are random, and not only was DE’s comment the beginning of that conversational string, but also Frink (seemingly) didn’t/doesn’t understand either. So in either case of what you meant, reading back through is irrelevant.

In the context of it being ‘old’ as in it is not a current discussion. And, yes a 3 day old post would constitute an old post (for me, anyway).

Also yes, the start of the topic does mean ‘the beginning of that string of conversation’, as you put it.

No, it’s not irrelevant - it’s good practice for posting on a forum in general, yes?

So you’re saying that if I visit the forum regularly but don’t read a particular thread for a few days, and the topic of conversation since last viewing doesn’t span more than a couple pages at best, I am still not eligible to remark on something someone said?

It’s not like the topic in question has been discussed into the ground and the relevant questions had already been covered (perhaps even more than once). And it’s not like the post was pages and pages (or ages and ages) ago. It was literally Tuesday. Today is Friday of the same week. Also, I have heard many a person in real life bring up a topic of conversation that they long since had heard about but didn’t get around to mentioning until then. People revisit dated topics all the time in real life, so why on earth can’t we do it here?

And I don’t consider the combination of a single thread page and a time within the same work week as old.

…Also, DE was already asked the question within a time reasonable to you but didn’t answer; and Frink responded directly to the question when I asked it. I would think the question of it being “old” would be more to the prerogative of those to whom the post was made. So even if you thought it was old, that doesn’t mean DE does.

Ok.

I wasn’t saying you did. I was saying that’s what I thought he was posting it for. I’m not sure why you would be bothered by a dog who supposedly acts like a cat.

Maybe because a self-respecting dog wouldn’t do that.

I wouldn’t classify dogs as having self-respect when they publicly lick their own junk.

This forum’s really hit the fan this last week. What the hell is in the water?

Well, without knowing anything about the circumstances, this seems to be the only one of the three that isn’t a direct and ridiculous overreaction to forum drama.

You assume the way in which you would have them react is the correct way to react. If you want them to not react the way they do, calling them ridiculous will likely not be effective.
