The Fall of the Jedi Trilogy (Released)
Time

Looks great. However, I didn’t put the Episode numbers on my spines because I wanted them to match /my/ Despec covers, and my Despec covers don’t have numbers (because “Star Wars” is not Episode IV.)

Incidentally, I like the official cover art for L8wrtr’s II and III edits (/especially/ III) for use with Q2s but I have no idea where to get the source image or how to replace his title text on the front without ruining it.

I’m downloading the Fall of the Jedi Trilogy BD25’s from Usenet. I will upload to the spleen after I’m done. It could take a few days, but they’ll be up soon.

Last time I checked, those BD25s on the NZBS were missing too many parts. Is that no longer the case?

I’m also trying to get some of his other edits, specifically Blue Velvet and Fire Walk with Me, but had the same issue.

Well, I’ve successfully downloaded the BD25s of Episode I v.2 and Episode II on my home pc. Episode III however suffered a CRC failure when trying to unpack it, though attempts to repair it didn’t find any errors to fix.

I realized on Friday do have a working copy of the Episode III BD25 at my office, and will bring it home on Monday evening to seed (it’s already added to the spleen but is currently dead).

Custom Bluray covers for The Fall of the Jedi Trilogy by Q2?
Time

The covers available for The Fall of the Jedi Trilogy on Fanedit.org are all DVD covers (and they’re not very professional looking anyway, imo). Since I’m dealing with AVCHDs and/or Blurays, can someone make or find for me some quality Bluray covers for Q2’s Fall of the Jedi prequel trilogy?

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

My mistake, they seem to be some form of the despecialized editions, however hard to say which versions (1.0? 2.0? 2.5?), also I don't recommend xvid reencodes unless you need to play them on old hardware that doesn't support h264.

How you can tell is by watching the /end/ end credits.

After the official end credits fade to black and the music ends, wait a few seconds and the Despecialized credits will appear:

If it's v1.0, it will not have a version number (but it /will/ say "HARMY" and a roman numeral). If it's 2.0 or above, it will have a version number as seen above.

Harmy,

My oldest cousin was a HUGE Star Wars fan when he was a kid. He remembers going to see Star Wars in the theatre in 1977.

Well, yesterday I gave him the Despecialized Edition Trilogy as a Christmas present. And he LOVES them. He apparently told my aunt and uncle he wanted to watch Star Wars at my grandmother's house while he and they were still in town (since she has a 50" TV and he does not).

Kudos again to you, good sir.

I mean SPECIFICALLY what is better?

I enjoy that, in Q2's edit: Vader is not mentioned; the suit is not shown; and Padme doesn't die.

I would like for him to include a Kerr-style Palpatine "sith-reveal", but only if it looks good. Many other edits that have done this don't implement it very well.

For one thing FOTJ Episode III had far more noticeable video and audio cuts than LOE. Q2 also took out the "I hate you!" line. Say what you will about the rest of Hayden's performance but that line was incredibly powerful and was delivered pretty damn well. It really comes down to the LOE's superior and quite frankly more professional editing in comparison to FOTJ episode III.

It's been a while since I watched FOTJ Episode III and I have no interest in watching it again unless Q2 releases a v2.

I disagree about the noticeability of cuts. I've watched FOTJ 3 many times (and recently) and I don't immediately recall a scene that was obvious it had been cut. Maybe only the first line given by Anakin as we don't see his face delivering it, since Q2 wanted to have Obi-Wan appear onscreen first.

LOE has places where there is lots of action with not enough dialogue. The initial space battle carries on for far too long when there's nothing to gain by it, and showing R4 die when we don't care about nor notice him isn't important to keep. Having Vader in the suit in LOE ruins the revelation in ESB; FOTJ has no references to Vader nor shows the suit. Having Padme die in LOE creates an EU-nerdy argument about why Leia remembers her when Luke doesn't; FOTJ remedies this by having Padme go into hiding with Leia. Including Qui Gon when he is mentioned later is an example of George Lucas force-feeding us in case we don't get what's going on, and that scene is not necessary (plus Qui Gon's "No!" sounds odd). And on the subject of "No", why was Vader's "NooooOOOoooOOOooooo" left in LOE?! Ridiculous.

My only two minor quibbles with FOTJ 3 are that the opening crawl is slightly too fast (same the previous 2 edits), and I would would have somewhat liked it better if Palpy has a Sith-reveal as was done /exactly/ like Kerr for that scene.

I can't believe you picked that one inconsequential line from Anakin to specifically point out you didn't like being cut. I find the fact that Anakin was trying at length to kill Obi-Wan makes it quite obvious that Anakin hates him. That one line being in makes little difference.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I don't believe they have seen Harmy's version /any/ pre-SE version. Also, Adywan said in his recent interview that only ONE shot of the TIEs was CGI (for like a second and a half) and the rest are actual models and such. They complain about his adding CGI TIEs so that shows how much they know what they're talking about.

But yeah, they don't seem to understand the reasoning behind fan edits in general and are too immature to care to understand. They would rather have fun circle-jerking each other about how dumb they think people are.

This is amazing work, I'd given up hope of ever being able to see the Star Wars I remember again!

I'm a complete novice at this so would appreciate a bit of help/advice.

I have burnt the ESB and SW avchd versions to 8.5gb dual layer dvd, but ROTJ keeps coming back as too large. I'm assuming this is because the first two are .iso files whilst ROTJ isn't. I'm also assuming that the new version of ROTJ will address this when it is ready.

Am I right? And is there anyway to burn the 1.0 avchd version to a single DVD?
