Thanks Obama.

Urge to furiously do my taxes … fading.
Taxes aren’t due until Tuesday, the 18th.

Than god we didn’t put that warmongering Hillary in the White House. Also her emails.

Hillary is more pro war than Trump. She was literally quoting Dick Cheney propaganda on the campaign trail.
I guess that doesn’t fit your narrative though.

I guess you missed the point.
Here, Alderaan. Let me help you:
@Jetrell, again with the hyperbole. -.- No one said the President needed super powers. The President ought to be smarter-than-average-bear, though, to coin a phrase. And Trump is extremely egocentric and easy to manipulate, as well as surrounding himself with the crazy conspiracy theorists of Breitbart and InfoWars.
Jetrell, you say that you’re “not a Trump supporter” and that you “only want to give him a chance”. But yet you get really bent out of shape because people here really are not happy with Trump at all. When people point out mistakes he makes and voice frustration about him and his rhetoric, you become an apologist for him instead of trying to understand where they’re coming from. Then you say things like how his supporters “don’t deserve to be terminated” when no one said that, and you accuse people of having unreachably high standards for the President that no one could reach.
You know, I’ve never been to a Star Trek Convention, but that doesn’t mean I’m not a fan of the show. You can still be a supporter of Trump even though you’ve never been to a rally and don’t have a red MAGA hat.
If all you’re wanting to do is give Trump a chance despite not really liking him that much, it doesn’t follow that you should defend him at every corner when people complain.
Still out of touch she is. Being out of touch is why she lost.

Which is why I believe Hillary had no hope. She still doesn’t understand why she lost, but continues to blame it entirely on Comey, Wikileaks, and Russia. Surely Comey, Wikileaks, and Russia had some part to play, but that doesn’t explain her losing so many swing states that Obama won handidly. As Bernie Sanders has said, to blame Comey is short-sighted. What she (and Democrats) should be looking at is why she wasn’t up by 10 percentage points or more compared to Trump. If the Democrats are content to blame racism or sexism alone, they have no chance of winning.

Yes. And?
and so is anyone who voted for him.
No, but they are gullible and mind-bogglingly turd-sandwichly foolish.
This is the only problem in the world that makes our world so horrible so we need to rid our world of him and everyone who voted for him.
People didn’t just vote for him against Hillary. He plowed straight on through the primaries. I mean, seriously, what the heck was wrong with Kasich? It’s unbelievable.
It’s not the only problem in the world. The problem with this world is most people don’t care about anybody but themselves, and they’re supremely bitter and angry about life. So yay, let’s vote for someone who has the cojones to tell everyone that they can go f&*@ themselves because we ourselves want to shout it from the rooftops. Yeah, great attitude for a president. I’d like to see statistics comparing his voter base to Youtube commenters.
This article’s making the rounds, and making Democrats nervous:
To break with tradition around here, I’ll announce that I’m mostly in agreement with this article. You can’t hope to win if you don’t understand why you lost. Not that talking about why you lost is politically easy either, but that’s another issue.
I pretty much agree, and I think I said as much back in November. Of course, it’s a complicated issue. The racism and the economics are intertwined - people losing their jobs are blaming immigrants and people who don’t like paying taxes are blaming minorities on welfare. So I think it makes sense to talk economics and try to shift the blame to where it really lies.
The problem with facing the racism head on, as Clinton found out, is people don’t really like being called deplorable. If Dems don’t want to keep being labeled elitist, it won’t really help to criticize the populace. That’s why Warren and Sanders went at it the way they did - if the Dems have any hope in winning back the votes they lost, they can’t afford to be calling those people bigots.
Agree it’s hard to talk about head-on, but disagree about Sanders really understanding. Warren maybe. But Sanders has had this particular blind spot for the twenty-odd years I’ve been following him. It’s just the way he views the world, and it’s really not that unusual.
But again, to primarily blame racism is to ignore the fact that Hillary didn’t get the same support from minority voters, or even from women, that Obama got. She didn’t get a better turnout than Obama did or even the same; it was worse.
Racist white republicans voting for Trump, sure. But if we’re talking about swing states here: Clinton lost Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Ohio. I mean, it’s not all about white racists, or else Obama would have lost.
I wish someone could explain to me the appeal of Trump. Why the heck do people (still) like him? It’s like with Sarah Palin… there are people who like her, but WHY?!? I just can’t even.
You can’t hope to win if you don’t understand why you lost.

Actually I missed the date so I screwed up, but it’s now hilariously relevant. I’m guessing Hannity is not going to apply the exact same standard this time.
No, he won’t. And if anyone tries to point it out, he’ll ignore it or change the subject. I’m with Jon Stewart on this: Hannity is ruining the country.
Actually it was Ted Koppel.
Ah. Well, I remember when Jon Stewart went on Crossfire and told them that they were ruining the country.

And, just like the arrogant whiny brat that Sean is, instead of making an honest self assessment as a result of Koppel’s words, Sean instead turns around and attacks him repeatedly for days.

Hannity, as questionable as he is considered, is not to blame for ruining the country. This started long before he had a say in anything.
No, but he contributes to the vitriol and mixes just enough fact in with fiction to make it hard to know how to separate them. There are so many people who really don’t know any better but to take the things he and Rush say as gospel rather than with what should be a prerequisite block of salt. Such people aren’t just uninformed, they have willfully been misinformed.
Also, I’m not a liberal, but the conservative media crazies, especially Hannity and Rush, drive me up the freaking wall. And by far my biggest pet peeve ever, myself being a Christian, is for people to usurp my faith and wield it as a tool to score political points. The Republican Party does that A LOT and I really can’t stand it.

One thing I didn’t like about The Force Awakens was how Carrie Fisher seemed to have had one of those surgeries on her face that makes it impossible to open one’s mouth more than a slit nor produce normal mouth/cheek-related facial expressions. Her upper lip is nearly incapable of movement.
Carrie Fisher’s drug problems that might affect her appearance notwithstanding, I don’t like how it looks like Princess Leia’s facial muscles haven’t recovered from recent plastic surgery.
I guess the honeymoon is over.

Glad our arrogant Pres. is enjoying his taxpayer funded golf outing after announcing the US should take military action against Syria
Umm… check the date on that tweet. 3 Sep 2013.
Jetrell, this is not simply a Trump-bashing thread. People here really do have legitimate grievances with him.
While you accuse others of being blinded by their own spite, I think you are similarly unwilling to accept the possibility that their perception of him as a bigoted used-car-saleman might have objective merit and dismiss any evidence to support that position.
You might want change in Washington, but Trump is very much not the answer.
Is it possible for someone to make Villain versions of the Steelbook posters/covers for Attack of the Clones and Rogue One? They are the only two steelbook posters with heroes instead of villains.

Well, sucks to be Japan then?
Well, yes. Part of Japan’s unconditional surrender at the end of World War II was to force them to completely, permanently disband their military. It’s written in their Constitution that they can have peacekeeping defense forces and that’s it.
But the US does also have multiple Air Force bases in Japan (we have bases everywhere, really). Their country is not exactly defenseless.
The Pacific Ocean is very, VERY large. We’re not talking about Iraq shooting at neighboring Israel here.
I personally think that to worry about Korea bombing the Western United States is to grossly underestimate our military preparedness, especially when we’ve faced such a threat before and have vastly superior real-time surveillance assets. The reason why the World Trade Center attack was successful was in part because civilian aircraft were used. A large missile is much more conspicuous and easier to spot, especially given that we’re constantly looking for it.
There are plenty of reasons to loathe Trumpy without making crap up.
If he backs up his words, and takes some positive decisive action to rid the world of a fiend who uses chemical weapons on innocent people, I will applaud him for it.
So said the people who thought W. was justified for going into Iraq. And how long did we have people over there? Oh wait, we still do.
Ridding the world of the North Korean Kim dynasty doesn’t mean Korea will suddenly become a peaceful democratic state.
Well, if there’s a better way to keep them from perfecting an ICBM capable of reaching the west coast of the U.S., I’d love to hear it?
To quote an old Vulcan proverb: Only Nixon could go to China.
I believe economic sanctions and political pressure from not-just-the-US are currently preventing it. Not to mention we probably have the capability of shooting them out of the sky. Seriously, we worried for decades about Russia throwing things at us. I would imagine we are somewhat prepared for a missile strike. Not to mention we have an orbital satellite network that Korea does not have that would give us advance warning.
There are plenty of reasons to loathe Trumpy without making crap up.

I didn’t mean invade Syria.
But that is what it means. Nature abhors a vacuum.

Trump said some poignant stuff
This has literally never happened.
Yes, I don’t think that word means what he thinks it means.
It turned rainbow. I don’t like the whole, “I did something with a specific color so that means I’m contributing!” mindset anyway.
This. I don’t understand the “paint everything pink” fixation for breast cancer awareness. “Yay! The NFL is wearing pink…!? Umm… why?”
It would seem a better use of funds to donate to cancer research than to paint everything pink for a month. Awareness, yes, but wearing pink NFL uniforms doesn’t do squat.
