I thought after SW everybody started making the jump to stereo.
I thought after SW everybody started making the jump to stereo.
I think at that point they just didn't care about theaters that still were only equipped for mono.
YES!!!!!
Jt34 is now ignoring me too. ooookay.....didn't think I made him that mad....only mentioned dts 6 or so times.
Have considered chrome but never taken the time to try it.
My sansa clip has fm built in and still runs strong 3 years on. And it cost me about $25. It plays any format I can throw at it.
Weren't the broadcast versions single layer anyway?
Well I've never really been a fan of the series, but the first film is great.
As long as the story is good-it will be awesome-Rid has still got it.
Perfect.
Our Man Flint- "An anti-American eagle? diabolical." Classic.
Zombieland-goes asolutely nowhere.
A Day in the Life of the Edge-hysterical and revealing in a way.
Same here.
When in doubt-go with PCM.
Fortunately I am a completist. And a SW junkie. And a celluloid obsessed one at that.
This is gong to be lots of fun-thanks!!!
True. I've told people about the 04 mix, but you have to actually go and show them how bad it is.
EXACTLY!!!
The great thing that Alec Guiness did with the crazy old hermit was to give us so much detail in so little dialogue that we are free to read just about anything into it.
To Ben, Vader is Vader and Anakin is dead. So calling him Anakin wouldn't really make any sense. It would ruin ESB for new viewers. Plus at that point, Vader was just an evil character who had killed Anakin.
It always bothered me that Luke just called out to Leia like that. I just didn't think Jedi could call anyone. I guess they have a Force-enabled cell phone in their heads. Also, if Luke was able to do that-why didn't anyone realise any earlier that Leia had some kind of Force potential if any of the retconning is to be believed? Vader tortured her for quite a significant time and didn't get that memo?

Ha- I knew that it had to be Red Velvet cake before I even clicked on the link. Very popular in the Southeast.
Very. (Now I want some...) I knew it would be because people would want Yoda blood for some reason.
That cake is surprisingly detailed. I want one!
I was never a good host.
Neither am I. :(

fans can ruin too!
I'm guessing not everyone will see that as a FAIL.
True. But it is a bit much isn't it? At least there are no prequel tatoos. People with those are screwed.

I own the factory pressed Gout. The quality is shit. I guess i should be happy that is the only form the movies will exist on in the future since the negatives will be lost to time.
They're hidden away in cold storage.
No i am not rich enough to build a home theater and track done 16mm prints that are not faded.
Neither am I. :(
Like i said i have ceased to care anymore. Star Wars is dead to me and Lucas will never get another dollar of my money.
That's exactly what I did after the Prequels and the 04 set.
Then I found this lovely place. ;) (And lost way too much time...)
After all like Mr. Lucas says it is after all just a movie.
Screw LFL.
Yes, yes, and yes!
That is why we band together and do it ourselves.
I think it would be really helpful to have samples of some of the most obvious changes so that people can see the difference.
God, everything just sits there...in boxes. sigh.
They obviously decided to transfer deleted scenes for the Blu-so why not do it right and include every version? They obviously don't want to, and can make a second set later.
I'm really tired of this recent 3D craze. It isn't anything to be excited about and is just another way to charge higher prices for tickets.
If you really want to talk about 3D and experiencing a film-then you look to Cinerama.
Instead of 3D and digital projection bring back Cinerama and 70mm.
IMAX just isn't the same. At all.
What's the best Apple codec to use for NTSC LD transfer video? I've got some files to export and wasn't sure which one would work best.
They simply did the one thing no one wanted: they made it worse.
Let's not go there...ever. ;)

On Blu ray there supposedly is not much of a difference since both are HD audio lossless.
So it's not like DVD at all? I thought that it was a similar situation and that was why most of the majors were switching to DTS for their releases. If both formats are the same, then why are we arguing over which is better?
When playing back ac3 tracks on DVD you have to make sure the dynamic range compression is turned off. Makes a huge difference even with titles like star wars gout.
Does this ever happen on PC?
DTS was better on DVD when they did full bitrate then they did half. Many people used to import titles from overseas because the DVD's from Japan would not be half bitrate. Before the advent of Blu Ray superbit was the way to go for DTS DVD.
Isn't that kinda like comparing DTS LD to DTS DVD? DTS LD was about 1500 kbps right?
Exactly.
