New Blu Ray Special Editions
Time

If it has anything to do with the 04 debacle (which it probably will) then there is no hope for this set. Best case scenario if the OOT is not released is to do a new scan of the 97SE and simply release that. It will have proper restored colors, a highly detailed image (added scenes were done in 2K), good sound mix, and none of the awful 04 edits. And it wouldn't cost anything except for a new scan.

reinvogorate your experience of watching Star Wars by watching other films from 1977.

I was just coming here to talk about TSWLM..I've been doing a LD preservation on and off for a while. The budget wasn't that much above SW (12-14 million as compared to slightly over 10) and was a return to the big scale of previous Bond adventures. It is extremely 70's (right down to the disco score, film stock, and amount of brown in the image) but this adds to it's charm in this day and age. And yes, I love raised eyebrows. And Lotus. And bad Russian accents. ;)

Get Carter (1971) - Great movie.  Love me some Michael Caine.

I adore this movie. This seriously deserves a blu! The current DVD is only single layer and pales next to the 35mm original I saw last year!

Jack Carter is the definition of badass. Cool, sophisticated, driven, remorseless, bored-Harry Palmer on steroids. And that score... :)

No, no problem at all! This is all really helpful for me-your projects spurred me to do some work of my own on a Mac and no one else I know of really knows anything about Mac conversions etc. with Streamclip and other software.

So...using NTSC standards of 720x480 for instance I would need to crop about 37.5 pixels off the top and bottom if I didn't crop any off the left and right of the frame. Thus about 720x405. Does this sound at all right or am I totally off base?

I paid for college by working clubs as a jazz drummer.  Biggest influences: Tony Williams, Elvin Jones, Art Blakey, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, etc.  I quit about 10 years ago and haven't played a gig since.  I'm so rusty now that I doubt I could.

Most awesome in college job ever!

I would like to learn the drums, but don't have access to a kit or anything. Have played way too much Rock Band though...;)
