I think it is way wrong to let a good time get bad the next day. Life is present and that is where it should be supposed to be good or bad. If you later on find out you could have done something differently of probably better, it proves just one thing: you are a control freak and cannot be happy without doubting it. Judged from the present there are impulses and decisions to guide you. You might learn from them to next time avoid what went bad. Don't let the past reign your life. Whew... philosphy lesson in English....

funny... even the abbreviation gets edited now. Now that's another thing I hate... and you don't even let me show MY side by editing a link to a website that has nothing to do with the current one, except for the same banner. Well, at least you makke one thing clear: you are right by neglecting anything that stands in your way. Very honourable. But in my forum you post openly all the insults you have on your mind, all the nice conspiracy theories you made up. I feel humiliated. You've won.

I am here for fanedits. This was my last post about this matter here, Jay, Zion, anyone, come over to my website to discuss some more and be NOT edited to death.

Shimraa: I don't know either why Jay looses his temper. And it is none of my business, never was. I was asked to delete my forum and I said YES, if people are allowed to talk here. But NO, that was not enough, then I should delete the domain either and give up all control to trust someone who has not been honest int he first place. I was tempted by that offer, because I love this website here, and I asked all the people, who help me build our beautiful fanedits website and they all said DON'T DO IT, WE DON'T TRUST JAY, HE IS NOT HONEST. Majority decision. Case closed. And what can I say. Thanks guys for letting me be part of the right decision. We would not have been happy over here.

Shimraa, thanks for posting this and for the time you take to learn about his thing. i have no idea what it is you are reading, but if you want to I can send you the entire messages I had with jay from the beginning.
But back to your post:
Jay is neither my buddy nor my friend, I actually don't know him a bit (well I get to know him now). Believe it or not, I had no idea what Jay was planning until ** was already up. The banner "****" referring to our website is 1 year old (I just looked it up, because I thought it was about 6 months) and was created by our webmaster Neo_the_one. Proof? ****1.0 user: ****pw: films . If you need more evidence, I can forward you the email, where he showed it to me. Now you may say I present false evidence, I about expect that, but true is, i don't have to present anything at all. I do it, just so you might see, what really happened, because I don't have a bad conscience. We could have made ** already then, but at that time I was to busy with other ongoing projects and he did not want to do it alone. About 1 year later I got about the same offer again and this time I was ready for action and showed Pauley79 the "****" banner that Neo created. The domain for it was registered months before. Why do I tell this? Because I think it makes one thing clear: I didn't do anything behind anyone's back. "Jay is not the godfather of fanedits" was one of my posts in the ** forum as an answer to why I did not think about contacting him. Why should I? Because he runs this place here? I still don't understand, what makes jay such an important person when it comes to fanedits, just because he owns OT. The fanedit thing is a total side product of OT, always was. My projects were and are in the NON STAR WARS section, which I always found... unfitting. Matrix is surely a non star wars film, it is also a non battle star galactica film. Somehow this explains how I and some other fellow faneditors who did not just edit Star Wars movies felt about this place. We were a side product.
And again back to your post:
I disagree that our name hurts in any way the success of Jay's site, if it is quality, it will survive and if not, then it will die. The users will make it important or less important. How fair is what, if I do not know and do not care about Jay? Does Jay care about me? Once again I am asking: why is this guy so important? Why should I have to respect him, when he does obviously not respect me a bit? I really don't understand what you are saying there, but I remember Jay saying : respect is earned by doing respectful deeds. Well... he never did anything much respectful to me, if you ask me. But I like OT and personally I think it is the users that made it to what it was, not Jay. So, I am not spitting anything in his face by saying that it is absolutely ok to create a fanedits showcase and name it the way we want, because I do not talk to Jay, he is neither a faneditor (as far as I know) nor does he watch fanedits (as far as I know). He is just the webmaster of this great community, not their boss, not their creator, not the man with the answers.

Do you know SISTERHOOD, it is a band of the 80s, actually it is just one guy... when the Sisters of Mercy split in 1985 the rest of the members wanted to continue using the fans of the sisters, so they chose the name Sisterhood to get realized. They did not produce an albun title but went on tour for several months. Now the reamining mastermind of Sisters of Mercy, who also had the rights for the name, ws shocked by the name SISTERHOOD, but he knew about legal rights, so he produced and album with a song he wrote in 10 minutes under the band name SISTERHOOD and thereby he git the rights for the band name. Agrred, it was not nice, what he did, but he would have called it self-defence I guess. Still, he was the first to come up with something, so he could keep the name.
We were the first to come up with our name, the website exists right now for everyone to see. This and the behaviour of Jay are all I need to explain, why there is no reason for us to NOT use our name. You tell me ONE REASON why I should be nice after all that has been said.

Jay made this a battle that I am still not willing to fight, but I will defend myself. If you want peace, Jay, be welcome, you don't even have to apologize for all the bad things you said about and to me, let's just share banners. Maybe you are a nice guy after all - with a superiority complex (I will edit this if I have to).





And Shimraa, it is just not fair from some people here always saying that I knew or must have known about things I didn't. It is actually impossible for me to defend myself against prejudices.

I still don't think you understand why Jay implemented this policy here. This site is the hub of the preservation and fan edit community. You tried using these forums to take part of that community away and make it your own. All this was before you bothered to contact Jay. In fact, I don't think you ever did. You knew that Jay had already been working on fanedits.com months ago. When I found out about your new web site from Dayv, he told me that you, Boon, had contacted Jay about your new site. But in reality, you never did. He had to contact you about it after I and a couple other people brought it to his attention. So let the record show that it was you guys who started all this secrecy crap.

Accusations and lies. You really want me to comment anymore on this? Sorry, I can't. You just want people to think I am a bad person, who had nothing but mean plans on his mind. Go ahead, but I cannot support your quest. As I said: I have the evidence. You have nothing.

Having posts and having different forums to post in are two completely different things. Are you saying that you had nothing to do with what forums were created on your own site? The fact is, when we found out that your site was up and running, most of those forums were already there, and that was back when there was probably a total of 20 posts and about 4 or 5 forum members. It was also before Jay ever got involved. So when you tried labeling it as a "companion site" or "sister site", your forums hardly looked the part.


First: yes, I had nothing to do with the way the website and its forum was built in the first place, but I liked it. Ask our webmaster Paulie79 if you want the truth. He is a nice guy.
From there on: again lies. Who do you want to impress so badly? I have the evidence and you have nothing.

Why don't you look up how much a Windows/ColdFusion-based dedicated server costs per month. And while your at it, why don't you look up how torrent sites work. Those terrabytes of traffic don't even go through the server. That's why they call it peer-to-peer. Sure, your showcase site and PHP-based forums can be hosted on a $10 per month bargain-basement shared hosting plan. But you simply cannot do that with a site that gets as much traffic as this place. If you think the only people who use this site are the ones logged in, think again.


I wasn't aware what kind of website this here is. I am an absolute amateur in these things, but I know the prices for our website and I am pretty sure we could handle the entire OT forum with it. If not, well, whatever, I am no webmaster, but let me take a guess: the entire forum is no more than 10 gigabytes,is itAnd yes, I thought the only people using this site are the ones logged in. Why should I care about the others, who obviously have not much to do with OT?

Please stop this thinking for me, Zion. You don't know anything about me and if you would, you might find out "I am not so bad" (ups, that is a quote from Matrix Revolutions... and it was Smith who said it).

I am sorry the website is that expensive for you and I am glad you have been able to keep it up. FE will never get as big as OT. It is not our intention. We want to be just another fanedits website now and try to be the best. When the time comes, we might have to decide to go different ways, right now, it is just nice and easy.

...one more thing. I cannot change for not having contacted you about my intentions about creating a website. The thought never crossed my mind, because it is a free and currently legal thing to do. From your point of view I understand you feel tricked because I asked the poeple here to take a look at what we have created. Damage done. But they would have looked anyway, if they are interested in fanedits and you know that. I haven't used your forum since to promote my website, have I? Now will you keep whining about this forever or what do you want?

man oh man i unfortunately dont see a way to resolve this. the only thing that may work is for the other site to change its name so that its not so similar to jay's in that way they will not be directly compeating with eachother, and the two sites can go there seperate ways.

Jay had the same idea, but sorry, first strikes first. Although I am looking very forward to Jay's fanedits website, we have been earlier using our domain and domain name and rightfully can keep it. If he wants to differ, HE has to think about something else. Given the current situation FE has no reason to give up anything. (We paid for the domain names too, you know) AND now think again about the generous and genuine offer, why OT wanted to swallow our website?

But actually I am not mad about the domain name thing, because it would have really bothered me, to find out someone has a similar idea with a close to identical name. Still: we were first.

since I am adressed, I may answer. hi Zion.

1. the forum on our website is now starting to pulsate with life BECAUSE we are not allowed to use OT forums to talk about anyhting regarding us anymore. Instead of tlaking around and not linking, we do our talking where we are not limited. You would do the same, I guess. It didn't look like this a few days ago. What you see is the development after being forbidden companionship by Jay himself. And we don't rest obviously, that is for true. We are creating something, people might like to be part of, which is their decision. Our forum started very small and in the beginning no one posted there anything, not me. You may want to take a look at the first post and how much time passed until the next one was made and so on. Call it evidence if you must, but I am not a liar. Our webmaster is a huge Star Trek fan, he created our forum and that explains why there is room for sci-fi, ST and SW talk.
The thing is: now we want to be a home for those who want, for whatever reason. Call it competition, I call it neighbourhood.

2. Let's not talk about money again, please. And please let us not compare this LITTLE forum with a website like myspleen, where tetabytes of traffic are used to drive the torrents through. I know about prices in Germany and the USA (and USA are cheaper). Hundreds of dollars each month? What for???? If that was true I would start looking for a new provider. It is not fair, zion, to say, that I don't care about money, because I don't host the websites. Truth is: I care for my friends, who offer all of us a chance to do what we like to do, make a website about fanedits and talk about it. I don't know how you treat places your friends pay for.

This whole situation is rubbing everyone the wrong way. It's unfortunate that things like this happen, but it is inevitable as the evolution of our community comes to pass.


I am not sure, what this means, but I agree that no one benefits from the current situation, but everyone will get bored soon. Still I think it is very good that EVEN HERE things finally get talked about, although hardly anyone of the OT community drops by in this topic.

All this secrecy just isn't good for anyone.

Actually it was only you by using your Gestapo methods on so many nice peole here.

Of course you might say it was me, or Dayv or some shadowy background visitors talking badly about you and starting rumours, but that is entirely not true.
You started the secrecy by editing profiles and posts without a statement and caused irritation by that and no one understands it, who visits our showcase website.

You want to start a similar website. Go for it, I am loking forward to it. I am sure it will be a huge success and I am talking again about fanedits here, not about money. Will I pay to visit it? Never!

Now did you ever mention to spare us money? No. Did I ever mention money or what our website costs us? No. Did you mention your costs for OT? All the time. The reason you offered to host FE was unclear from the beginning, especially since you rejected my offer to delete our forum, when you requested it. I would have gone with you and OT, I asked for companionship all the time, but now it just feels bad and it seems there is no way back, since you have been behaving like a complete a-hole towards one of my friends and moderators; Psycho Dayv.

Look how you talk to regulars, look how angry you are, when you should be superior, especially because you cannot change what happened. You owe the BIGGEST website about fanedits existing, people like and trust you and come here to spend their evenings, even days, searching for posts to answer to or just to have fun.
I had no opinion about you, before I talked to you and my opinion now is not an issue here. But I think that the statements you made are what refers to what people think about you. There we are at this respect thingie again. It is hard to get, yet easy to lose.

I can go on with this forever, but how about that. Let's stop these discussions and accept us for the fanedits showcase website we are.

Dumbledore will be alive, never died anyway, it was just a con to trick Voldy.
Hagrid will leave Hogwarts.
Hermine will become a teacher at Hogwarts and headmistress of either Hufflepuff or Griffindor within the next few years.
Neville will kill Voldy, because an avacadavra backfires from him.
Harry will be allowed the final tests in Hogwarts without being there to particpate in the lessons and he will master them. Then he will become an auror and marry the journalist girl (forgot her name and am to lazy to look it up now).
Ron... yeah, what about Ron... I have no idea.
Malfoy will help Neville to kill Voldy. This will eb his turn to the good side. In the same moment he will cause his father's death and be free. Dumbledore will take care of him after that. Still Malfoy could turn out to be the new Voldemort.

yes, two sides, and soehow I get the feeling I should also and hopefully finally say something:

what we made was create a showcase website for fanedits, because several of us had the feeling that OT was not sufficient for representing fanedits especially to new visitors. you know how hard it is to find something here or to surf through the thousands of posts for something you are looking for. Our small website, let me call it FE, was easily set up and the next thing was to acquire some faneditors to get their info posted. We used different sources: piratebay, demonoid, some other torrent sites, some other forums,w here people talk about fanedits and of course OT to do that. We attached a little forum to our website, so people could talk about what they saw there.

And that's about it.

I always loved OT, I am a regular here, visiting daily and I had no intention whatever to divert the community, actually it was Jay, who started these discussions and made our little forum more important than it was supposed to be (later we had to find out, it was also a money issue that made this all so bad). We wanted to be an addition, not a replacement, and I think we still are, though, since the flamewars have already started, it seems people have the feeling they have to decide for a side, but I say: don't do it. If you can visit what you like, just go there, because you like it. Friendships are more important than websites. When Jay offered me to swallow our website and keep it under OT so the community stays together, I offered him to delete our forum (since he claimed this was the main thing concerning him), if people could talk on OT about FE. I saw and see no reason, why FE has to be within the OT server to keep the community together, especially if we were fully linked to each other. Jay has denied that request. Is it a trust issue? Now why should I trust Jay more than he trusts me? This has become way complicated.

So, think what you want about us contacting faneditors to post information about their fanedits in a showcase. If nothing is taken away, nothing is stolen.
I will not accept to be treated like a betrayer.
