Adventures in Raising the Next Generation of Original Star Wars Fans
Time

^I am one of those people who hated Yub Nub too when I was little. I was five and my neighbor invited me to his birthday party when he was 8, and we watched Return of the Jedi... it was up to a coin toss as to which version we were gonna watch because one kid didn't wanna watch the special editions. I can't believe he knew the difference at age 8! (although to his credit, their copy of the originals was widescreen vs. the fullscreen golden SE box.) Watched the original and was disgusted by Yub Nub, but it has grown on me... not the teddy bear parade part, but the fact that it's a tiny and heartfelt celebration vs. the galaxy celebrating seems to make more sense to me.

OT Deleted Scenes Discussion
Time

The second TPM deleted scene with the queen finding out that the droid control ship is down wasn't so bad. If the bluescreen could be refined it would help an edit that tries to focus Anakin as the hero by making that the final scene in the throne room rather than Padme being saved by her double...

the odd thing about some of these scenes though is it appears as though they were filmed on video. Look at the frame rate... or maybe this was somehow ripped at 120Hz? I don't know, I just know my monitor's refresh rate is 60 and something seems off.

Also some of these ROTS expanded Palpatine scenes could make Anakin's turn more convincing. It's only a shame there's the watermarks on them...

Does George really hate HAN SOLO that much that he needs to water down his character at every turn?

has anyone backed up WMN on the line being cut? I'd bet it's similar reasoning to why he removed "you're lucky you don't taste very good," ie he doesn't like it when people mess with HIS vision. Aren't there numerous horror stories from Star Wars about how controlling he was with the actors whenever possible? If the line was improv he probably think it detracts from his original script.

Last web series/tv show seen
Time

Jamming with Edward was my original introduction to the show and I was highly disappointed. It took me 6 years to give it another shot, mainly because my friend brought the series over (this man actually BOUGHT it, that's how much he liked what little he'd seen.) Everywhere but her debut episode she's pretty easy to adjust to - wait for her big day in Mushroom Hunting, then she gets funny.

The jump in quality is less significant for dvd to blu than it was vhs to dvd. I know plenty of people, young AND old, who claim they can't see the difference at all. So in short that's probably why. Star Wars would be selling even more like hotcakes if more people had made the jump... also VCR tapes were out of the general market by the time Star Wars was on DVD; up until this recent recall, people could still easily pick up the saga on DVD.

Pardon the "Man-who" testimonial but I was hoping it would prove my point...

Forgive me, OT.com, for I have sinned.

I have put money in the pocket of Lucas. I bought a pair of Star Wars sleep pants at Wal-Mart yesterday. They were on sale, and they were a cool retro print taken from <a href="http://images.moviepostershop.com/star-wars-movie-poster-1977-1020189548.jpg">this poster</a> and had the old style logo and everything. I couldn't pass it up.

I hope that I can be forgiven.

I totally have those pants!

Do want. Where do I get?
