Info Wanted: Calling all Color Correctors: Can this source yield a different set of results to Gout?
Time

^Crushed white highlights. I'm going a bit brutal here, but I think those might actually hurt my eyes to look at. That's just unreasonably bright, man. I get what you'er trying to do with removing some of the brown, but you have to try something else. That's just not doing it. Your whites are blinding and your blacks turning gray.

Are There Any Visually Striking Moments in the PT?
Time

Discuss. Are there any moments that made you go "wow" in the way George wanted? There's a lot of spectacle in the PT that fails, but - at least I think - there are a few moments and images here and there that work. Where is there any world building that you liked? Interesting character designs? Scenery that was more than just a generic, panning establishment shot?

-The city of Theed. Sure, we don't see a lot of it. But what we do see of the palace is pretty ... uhm, big. I enjoyed the look of the city and the palace; it's probably the only thing that stands out in this movie design-wise. Probably helps that a lot of the stuff here came from models.
-Speaking of Naboo, I was pretty impressed by those first few invasion scenes on the prairie.

-I don't like the way the clones were handled especially... but the closing scene of this movie wherein the army is being assembled and sent off. Wow. Maybe it was the Imperial March, I dunno. But, I really felt a sense of grandeur here that much of it was missing. THIS would have made a much more striking introduction to the clone army than seeing them on Camino. If that were ever possible in some way in a fanedit, I would definitely support it.

ROTS
-I got nothing. I've seen this movie twice and that was once too many times. I'm not a fan of blockbuster action films, and that's all this is - with soap opera camerawork to boot! This does a lot of that awful stuff I referred to in the opening paragraph.

I welcome debate on my claims, as well as those of others, but let's keep this from being a complete PT bashing thread.

fucking knew this would happen.

edit: blatant flaw in coding that Jay doesn't care about strikes again. Boy, I'm such a fucking hipster loser for using simple editor. NOBODY will ever think that might be useful! Nobody! Why even put the feature in if it doesn't work?

Yellow Submarine Screenings!
Time

Sat in the front. 5.1 mixes really need to be optimized for the theater and not the home. I was in the front row, and "All Together Now" sounded just atrocious. The background singers were to the right, and then the Beatles came in on the center - it was an awkward cut. I could still here the background singers (I think just a different track of the Beatles) when they switched it to center. The real nail in the coffin was that I couldn't hear Nowhere Man's lyrics! Literally, they were in an echo, and the instrumental was coming out right center. Needless to say I'll be sticking to the 2.0 and mono tracks on the DVD!

I also think that it was a bit out of focus for a digital projection. There was... ghosting, I think. Unless that's normal in animation and I don't normally notice it. And the shadows often looked like blurs on screen.

Do I regret going? No. I just wish the presentation was more ... pleasing.
