Arcades in of themselves from my experience are dead, at least in Southern California. They tend to only exist as side-attractions in bowling alleys or theme parks... and even then, they're shrinking. Hell, even Disneyland ditched all the ones they used to have! It was the only place I ever played the 1993 SW arcade machine :/

However, closer answering your question, it depends on the size of them. Bowling alleys likely have all new machines with an obligatory Pac-Man / Galaga hiding in the corner, but if you're at a theme park you can find a row or two of old machines. I've even found a Super Mario Bros. VS machine not too far from where I live! My first world problems sense tingled enormously when it went from 25 to 50 cents a game.

Also, fighting game-exclusive arcades are still around here. That's probably due to the somewhat active tournament circuit though.

Change.org is truly abused... ugh. I detest that website because people use it for causes like this. I'm sorry, but "bring back Toonami" or even things that actually matter like restoring the Original Trilogy don't belong on a website mostly dedicated to social justice issues. They really need a screening process there...

My apologies if it seems like I'm jumping down your throat chyron8472 but this is a huge pet peeve of mine.

Have you met or seen someone from the Star Wars universe, and props?

Anthony Daniels is a known egocentrist. It's a wonder more people don't speak out about it.

I, too, saw "When Science Meets Imagination" a long time ago. Long time. I wasn't too impressed with it as a kid but I think I was looking for more interactive exhibits. Also, the 3PO they had on display was all-gold. That bothered me because it was shortly after the first time I noticed he has a silver leg!

The Reagans are a bit of a different story though due to his previous history with the industry. Oh,and also, I should hope I don't remember that. I would be really creeped out if I could remember something that happened 13 years before I showed up! Though I probably should have researched it first.

Still, there's a big difference between a cameo/speech championing the industry and getting to present the award I'd gander most people are looking forward to all night.

Cut the snark, Warb.

Anyway, what were people's thoughts on Michele Obama presenting an award? I'm a fan of the Obamas but I've never liked how they use media. I feel like something like that should be beneath a person in a position of such power. It's not quite as horrible as Barack himself on say the Late Show, but it not only surprised me - it shocked me. And to give her Best Picture? Oh, I mean, COME ON.
