Video Games - a general discussion thread
Time

So, I got an SNES the other day.  W00T!  This is a trade-off with my friend, whom I also bought one.  Birthday presents for both o us.  Right now, I have (this is actually his, but nonetheless):

Spider-Man/Venom: Separation Anxiety.  Not a bad beat-em-up, only tought as Spider-Man.  Venom is so much better.

Super Mario All-Stars/World one cart:  Coming in the mail soon.

Mario Paint: Also coming soon.

Megaman X: Just old-school megamany goodness.

Super Star Wars original & TESB: Well, what can I say?  TESB is impossible, and I just barely beat the first level of the original.  These games are as hard as they say!

Maybe we were wrong about Han all along...
Time

Just thought I'd share a few dumb jokes and good times on IRC.  And to think this all started simply because I mentioned the new set coming out...

bkev: HAN SHOOTS FIRST, AMIRITE?

Kaboom: No, Greedo did
Kaboom: Han Solo is just so incredibly l33t, that he was able to bend time and space around him to make it look like HE did
Kaboom
: If Greedo shot first, it makes Han badass because he could dodge it and return fire unscathed
Kaboom:  If Han shot first, then it makes him badass for shooting first.

Kid: is he like an otherworldly version of Chuck Norris? :O

bkev: How could Greedo possibly miss at point blank?

Kaboom: Hello? What did I just say?
Kaboom: Han Solo? Bending time and space?

Kid: Otherworldly Chuck Norris?

bkev: Oh, yeah...

edit - what's with the half-white, half-black text?

Dragonball Z
Time

Supposedly, it will come iwth one of Fox's newest action movies.  Eagle Eyes, Deathrace... somethin like that.

Anyway!  I have spoken to Petrea so many times; she's a sweet woman.  But the pay dubbers get is horrible, and moving from an area like LA to Texas was a huge inconvenience considering her pay would practically only cover the flight!

Help: looking for... Animaniacs: The Final Volume
Time

Hi all,

I don’t know if I’ve made this overly public, but I’m a HUGE fan of nineties cartoons.  And as of such, I was VERY disappointed when it turned out that Warner Brothers decided not to finish Animaniacs.  According to a TV.com forum page (which is, mind you, a not-so-trustworthy site), it has to do with the rights to a parody song.  And something tells me that Warner Brothers won’t be too eager to solve that.  Does anyone know where I could possibly find these “lost episodes”, or maybe someone has recordings of them to share?

Thank you all!

EDIT:  The volume may have only been put on hold, I’m not sure.  Can someone clarify this please?

What separates the "Ages" of comic books and where does DC make the transition from Earth-Two to Earth-One? *Comic aficionados needed*
Time

Well... I'll try and simplify it.  Basically, these are referring to (if I understand correctly) when different "eras" of comics began.  Different styles in storytelling, entire rewrites of characters (DC), and different art styles.  The way I see it, the bridge between the golden and silver ages is the easiest: by the end of the Golden Age, thanks to many critics ("the seduction of the innocent"), comics were toned down and frowned upon.  Something caused a great revival, thus the Silver Age.  As for the modern age, the DC Crisis began that - it rewrote their entire universe.

I hope I've helped, and am not full of misinformation.
