I think I have to say that to a certain extent grain is bad. Many complain the GOUT has too much. However, in most cases a limited amount of grain is good. That's the problem with restorations - it seems that for the most part, they don't attempt to keep that detail.

The name's bkev, dudes. I'm only a lad of 15, but I've been around the 'net for quite some time now. As obvious, I enjoy Star Wars. Shim, I feel your pain. I see only 10-15 stars in immediate eyesight, down in Los Angeles; hell, last night I didn't see any - the sky was brownish-blue, almost as if it were still day out.

Gaff, if this is out-rating One Piece, I think it'll last.
The one scene that truly got butchered by the re-cuts is the Piccolo vs. Raditz scene. There's no dramatic tension - and it's not the music, oh no; the whole scene feels rushed.
Oh by the way, Kai is available now via several outlets. Fan reaction has been 'meh' at most... the music has been hit-and-miss, the voices have been on-and-off, they're cutting canon material from the manga, even more continuity errors afoot, and the pacing is messed up. Oh yeah, and the re-coloring has been universally agreed as nice; however, they didn't color out the dust that was made more obvious in the film by the recoloring. EXAMPLE:
@C3PX: I don't get it either, but the '04 version pisses me off too. I think not only is the Naboo scene unneeded, it kills the pace of the song. The drums go on for just too long. Oh yeah, and the chorus of kids is more obvious in the sound mix.
B. I don't care for the extended celebrations, but the music is FAR better than YubNub.

There's a difference between americanization and dubbing IMO. Americanization is where something gets changed to suit a new audience, and dubbing is where the translation is more-or-less accurate. Americanization can be entertaining (Shin Chan anyone?), but for the most part I prefer a straight dub. And yes, I agree with DarkFather - although not as high-profile as in Japan, english voice actors deserve great respect. Some of them outshine their Japanese counterparts.
