Galaxy Express 999 (* unfinished project due to DVD release - lots of info *)
Time

If you count edited-for-TV versions of anime, there are COUNTLESS.  Not sure if those are worth counting, though - they're more curiosities.

I'm still looking for that Harmony Gold dub... there were what, 1-2 episodes and a movie?  That is hard to find.  The collectors who have it aren't exactly gonna release it out, even just the audio.  Templeotrunks has a few audio clips, though.

GE 999 is a streaming thing too.  Just not the movies.  Never been a fan of DOING that, but at least it's available.

Sky, the VIZ dub is uncut (complete with swearing).  Then there's the Roger Corman dub which is just.... no... typical eighties dub.  However, they did keep the original score and even dub a song - one and only redeeming factor.

Separate Fanedits & Preservation Efforts?
Time

Hi everyone,

Given the recent surge in preservation efforts of Star Wars and certain forum member's posts, I've noticed there might be a good amount of desire to do this.  While obviously this would leave more content in the fanedit section, overall this might be a good trade-off.  Consolidate the fan edit forums into one, and the preservation as well.  Lots of work, I know, but I really think that's a good idea.

Thoughts?

Going away? Post so here!
Time

Yeah, I had a BLAST!  I did a lot better on the hiking than I thought I would.  But boy, do I have stories to tell!  If anyone's interested that is.

The Tooth, unfortunately, was  a letdown.  The one day they get "typical" August weather (fog and more fog) is the day we go for the sunrise.  Cool to see all the ladybugs, though - and I lost my flashlight to the Tooth!  Heh.

Didn't wanna act like I was super duper important, so I made a general thread that could be used by others, just in case they're going on a trip and feel like alerting everyone else.  Ya know, just so people don't go "WHERE'S SO-AND-SO?"

Just lettin yall know that I'm going away for 2 weeks at Philmont, scout ranch in New Mexico.  Backpacking at least 66 miles, will return on the 19th.  Cya then dudes and dudettes!

"No, seriously... which one's your favorite?"
Time

What the title says.  Do you have a favorite in the Star Wars universe?   Be it one of the movies, or EU literature?  If you're familiar with the latter, please feel free to bring it up.  Forgive me if this has been done, but all of a sudden the concept is on my mind.

Movies:  I'm actually very conflicted on this.  As much as I love The Empire Strikes Back for its character development and shining moments, I think at least right now that pleasure belongs to the original Star Wars.  No matter which way I watch it, the movie just clicks.  The movie has great flow, and characters that - while you couldn't relate to them - you could care for.  It could stand on its own, which is something I dont' believe ESB could manage.  It's such a joy to watch all the way through.  The movie's a triumph, what with all the problems the development went through.  The true story of an underdog - both in the movie and outside.  I watch this movie at least once a year.

EU: Jedi Apprentice kids book series, mostly by Jude Watson.  Though I prefer Dave Wolverton's style (he wrote the first book), she does good too.  There's a certain something about this series that I like - it just shows that even though the prequels all that good, a lot of good can come from establishing a vague picture of the time period.  Following Obi-Wan's days as an Apprentice, it shows just a bit more of both Obi-Wan's hot-headedness and Qui-Gon's stubborn manner.  Who didn't like Qui-Gon?
