James Cameron and George Lucas effectively killed film. Not movies, but physical film. I wouldn't be surprised if digital cameras are the definite Hollywood standard within the next 10-20 years, if not sooner. I think 3D is here to stay, but it won't become the standard.

Someone told me a long time the Greatest Muppet Movie Ever would avoid the new characters, but that could just be a rumor.

If I had to pick I'd say the THX box has the best look. Also, I don't think Lowry's as bad as everyone says... it's probably the studios that mess with it after. I mean, the variance in Bond movie quality is proof enough (as I always cite, Live and Let Die).

Record Surplus, Amoeba, As the Record Turns... I'm very lucky. LA has plenty of options. Ironically I just went to Record Surplus today and picked up:
-Fleetwood Mac, Rumours. (it sounds brand new, I swear I've heard more pops out of a record I just opened)
-Poco, Poco.
-Gregg Allman band, Playin' up a Storm
-Procol Harum, A Salty Dog
$20 well spent! The most expensive was Rumours at only 7 bucks. Not a bad haul, not bad at all.

I just set up one in my room! My dad upgraded our receiver, so I took the old one - and thus the old record player. That's my collection of "things I need to listen to / beyond favorites", still being filled up.

What I'm asking is if the yahve the OAR, or 16:9. The SE DVDs cropped the frame for widescreen TVs, which although not as bad as pan-and-scan is still a horrible idea. I'm wondering if this original DVD did as well on its widescreen side.
Are those OAR or widescreen-enhanced like the SE DVDs, I wonder? At least the cover for Dr. No is good, unlike those UE discs which are normally horrendous photoshop collages.
