The lost song from Jabba's palace
Time
Edit: I managed to get on the web at the outlaws' place, and so I managed t get it to work. Thanks!

Is there perhaps another place rather than RapidShare where I could get this file?

I only have web access at work, and RapidShare won't work for me. Damned if I'm paying them just for this one thing too, especially since there's no guarantee it would work even then.

Alternatively, would some kind soul be willing to upload it to yousendit.com for me? I know that works. My email is bindibadgi at gmail.com.

I hate asking for things in this way, but now you've all gone and got me interested and I've gotta have that file!

Why LFL is actually cool (I know we need some reasons right now)...
Time
I say credit where credit is due, and I agree SKot. This does say a lot in favour of LFL and it wins them a lot of respect from me. I'm still so cut that we aren't getting the OOT in the modern quality that I think we, as devoted fans, deserve, but I have to say I am happy to see this kind of thing which shows that they have not abandoned all respect for the fans.

Finally Hocked the SE
Time
I have to make a confession and say that I actually bought TPM when it was released. As time went by, however, I decided that it represented such a cheapening of Star Wars that I didn't want it anymore and gave it away. I wish I didn't need to (i.e. I wish the story wasn't destoryed - that still eats me).

I have kept my VHS copy of the 97 SE, because I can still stand to watch that (even though thinking about it I haven't watched it in several years lol). I can't bring myself to buy anything with the 2004 DVDs in the package though. Hayden was absolutely the last straw and I just can't watch it without wanting to cry.

So congratulations Obiwampa. I respect your decision.

.: The XØ Project - Laserdisc on Steroids :. (SEE FIRST POST FOR UPDATES) (* unfinished project *)
Time
The latest I think is that they hope to have Star Wars finished before September, but feel it is unwise to give any actual expected dates.

I don't envy the X0 team and all the work that they have got themselves into, but I do respect them and I am really looking forward to hopefully seeing the end products (I'm sure there's lots of scope for many things to come out of this work).

I don't mean to try to teach anyone to suck eggs or anything (and I'm not trying to call you my grandmother either ) but just in case GL's idea with this Sep release is to clamp down on bootlegs, he may try to shut this project down. If he does, I hope you have sufficient backups offsite so that any "seizure" in any event would not provide an opportunity for all your hard work to be destroyed.

I don't know if this is even possible, but if GL wanted to, surely he could arrange for some kind of seizure of stuff pending an investigation, and things might mysteriously disappear in the process, even if you guys were found to be acting quite within your rights.

I really am cynical aren't I?

Those "Takes You Out Of The Moment" Moments...
Time
I've gotta say, I don't honestly think I come out of the moment with the originals (except if the baby cries and I have to pause it ). Salacious Crumb is a bit corny, but I'm not sure he takes me out of the moment. How did we ever know his name BTW?

In the PT, midichlorians were enough to shoot the whole shebang down the dunny. Demystification and over-explanation ruin any story AFAIC. I just love the way that, in the OOT, there are so many things which just happen. No explanation needed. We are watching a documentary on something "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away" so why the hell should we expect to know the whole story and everything about every detail that goes into it? It just makes the whole story look flat and contrived.

STAR WARS - Enhanced HD & O-OT HD Packs... some suggestions...
Time
Damn it, I just finished a post and when I hit submit it suddenly all disappeared.

I agree with SES above wholeheartedly. If that scene had to be shot at all, then I think it should have been more like this: Dooku tries to attack Yoda. Yoda sighs and just holds out his hand, palm out. Dooku gets stopped short. Then out comes Yoda's lightsaber all by itself and, while Yoda just stands there eyes closed, his lightsaber does all the duelling. Surely it would be much more in character (and much more super cool) for Yoda to just stand there and whip Dooku's arse using just the force.

Some ludicrously optimistic thoughts...
Time
Well, it's nice to be optimistic, but the cynic in me says that if GL really hates the originals (which seems to be the case!) then the fact that he is releasing them at all can mean only one of two things:

1. He respects the fans and wants to give us what we want. If that were the case then he'd do a restoration, so that's not it.

2. He just wants to fart on us.

All I hope is that he realises he's cutting off his own nose by releasing sub-par material (and that he realises that people don't buy his line on the original media being deteriorated too badly/permanently altered). If he sees that people will laugh at him for releasing it without some work, and some pretty spiffy work at that (why should anyone expect less from Lucas and his $$?), then he'll be forced to actually try.

Unfortunately the cynic in me says that he is too blind to see this and all we'll get is his fart.
