i have it on VHS but i can easily put it onto DVD with my DVD recorder. i haven't got the tech to capture it on my mac yet

quality is ok. sci fi logo in the corner and it has ad breaks. would be super cool if some one could do a composite cut. i am happy to supply a copy on 2 DVD+R (better quality). as long as i get a copy of the final product!

I have a VHS copy of that aried on the UK sci-fi channel. i don't know wether it is censored though but it does have the everest ending.

Actually my rarest DVD is the out of print, Region 2 original pressing of True Lies. The original release used the uncut master by mistake, this was quickly recalled once the error had been realised, and was replaced with the UK cut version. I managed to pick up the uncut version from eBay for about £6.00.

i've got this as well. i also have the original bridget jones dairy before they recalled it to censor the commentary. the original Rocky collection with the PG cert and signed copys of Dawn of the Dead by Romero and Cabin Fever by Eli Roth

a couple of ideas

Re-create the original theatrical version of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. there has been the special edition relese and Speilberg's final cut, the Collector's Edition. wouls love to see how it played in cinemas.

Pyscho (1998) HEAR ME OUT!!!! was thinking about this the other day. pretty pointless remake if you ask me but was wondering what it would look like if it redone in black and white, plus some fine grain to make it match the original version. edit out the additional scenes and stupid flashes and maybe, MAYBE sync in the soundtrack from the original! just an idea!

does anyone have the Unrated Japanese Laserdisc that they could preserve onto DVD?. i have the first workprint version (there is a workprint ‘B’ out now) with lots of additional scenes but quality is not great and the only offical dvd releases are the cut down R-rated version.

the comparison at dvdcompare (a local for me) says

The Japan Laserdisc “Unrated version” has a running time of 89.20 mins (NTSC), 18 Seconds longer then the “R-rated Theatrical” (NTSC) version, what mainly misses two bloody shots in the head and a boat crew member hand being cut off.

here is an idea. how about a re-edit of the US version of Godzilla! make it less shite, take out ferris beuller's annoying girlfriend or edit her part down, make it more tighter paced and take out or edit down the baby godzilla scenes. leave the Jean Reno and Hank Azaria banter intact because they were funny.

i'd like to hear some more thoughts about this.

how about a presevation of the original theatrical cut of Enter The Dragon. i think that most DVD's that are out are the extended version with the 3 mins of extra footage. the footage sucks because it was really badly dubbed over by an american guy.

I have seen a workprint of Superman Returns appear on some torrent sites. whaat code9 means, i don't know. could be fake though.
