Adywan, just on the offchance you may not have molded plasticine with Silicone rubber before, use plenty of layers of protective clearcoat first as plasticine contains sulphur and stops silicone curing making a right ol mess! I usually sculpt from Chavant or brown terracotta wax which is very soft and meltable. no release agent needed for these. I buy mine from http://www.tiranti.co.uk/

You most likely already know all this, but that 1% chance you didn't coulda been expensive mistake.

Thanks for the info. I actually didn't realise that plasticine was still made with sulphur. Damn. I'm pretty sure that the silicon i have is tin cure and not platinum so i should be ok ( fingers crossed). But i'll do some tests first anyway

I'm not contradicting what Yoda1138 is suggesting - but I've used plastacine alot with silicones in the past (two part mould making and such) and we've had no such issues - but I guess just try a few dabs first?

Tiranti are great as they are not just stockists, but generally practitioners as well so can often answer specific questions too. A warning with Tiranti Silicone though, it has no dye in the catalyst! So you can't visibly see if its mixed consistently. I don't know if you can add dye. We used to buy silicone from Propbuilder.co.uk (as the catalyst was a deep orange, the silicone came out a nice salmon colour when mixed), but they've stopped selling now sadly.:(

Clone Wars Movie Series [Episodes I to V released; Episode IX: The Fallen Apprentice now Complete!]
Time

In a way TCW can sort of stand alone as a PT in its own right. The OT doesn't need the leadup ROTS provides giving all the secrets away.

The Jedi, Anakin and Obiwan are the heroes we learn about in the OT, and the opening of ANH would provide as much of an unexpected environment as I'm sure the new Episode VII will do to us this Christmas.

Also the scene with Dooku and Ob1 never set well with me. first of all it looked ridiculous. Ewan looked like he was hanging from wires and why on earth he would be spinning like that makes no sense to me. were the geonosians trying to induce some sort of motion sickness to torture him???

Yeah this was always a wasted scene. It could be interesting to move some of the dialogue to the duel at the end of the film, especially with Dooku persuading Obi-Wan to join him. It could add a bit more suspense to the fight when Obi-Wan refuses, and Dooku moves in to kill him.

The Prequel Radical Redux Ideas Thread

So it looks like there will be a film set prior to ANH, with the continuing potential for more standalones in the future.

http://www.theverge.com/2015/4/19/8451743/star-wars-rogue-one-plot-description

So here is a radical and obvious idea for some PT edits - use these alternative films to displace/replace the current PT.

They won't follow the skywalker saga necessarily, but does that actually have ot be the focus of the saga? What if a heavily editted AOTC became Ep1 for instance, or maybe we even start with ROTS? Something to hope for anyway.

How about this? - within the prologue of ROTJ, you could establish that much more time had passed, and the rebellion has gained a huge momentum, having recently captured Coruscant.

The Emperor and much of the Imperial fleet has since disappeared - however there are relentless attacks on the capitol by the Imperials.

The Rebel's desperate to hold the City Planet will have committed ALL their resources to holding it (all the eggs are in one basket).

The Rebel's discover the Death Star II plans within the city (opening scenes) - and thus a strike team is forced to chase it down. Meanwhile Luke/Leia etc are on tatooine freeing Han.

The big reveal would be that the EMPEROR is on the Death Star, and he is going to use it as his new seat of Power. He allowed the Rebel's to audaciously capture Coruscant in order to force them into one single location, which he intends to destroy.

It might up the stakes a bit when they realise it's operational, and at any given moment he's going to jump into Hyperspace.

Episode VII: The Force Awakens - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *
Time

I assumed the 'chrometrooper' is actually the lead villain's armour (so probably the guy with the broad-saber). Visually it might make sense to have a sort of silver knight like armour with such a big weapon.

Its not STAR WARS as we know it (hence the revulsion from some of our forum), but it feels to me fresh and human much like the OT.

You'll notice how all the stormtroopers are all irregular heights which is pretty cool.
