Info Wanted: Has anyone preserved Malcolm In The Middle? Or The PJs?
Time

Believe it or not, there are some TV shows that haven’t been released on DVD.

Only Season One of Malcolm has been released, and that was back in 2002. It doesn’t look like any others will see release anytime soon, whether because of the expense of music licensing or whatever.

Similarly absent from DVD is Eddie Murphy’s “claymation” series The PJs.

If anyone knows about any preservations of these I’d be curious to know more. Thanks.

Kaydon_Sentry, the fan editor who did the Knights of the Old Republic Movie, provided the voice for the main character in his project. Check out the clips and maybe he could be considered.

So it is impossible that you saw the other scenes, because they were never filmed.

I'm not too interested in what anybody that worked on the film says on these matters now as they either can't or don't care to remember accurately or have some other reason. Just produce the footage if you haven't destroyed it.

What sort of a response is that? You ask others if they can do some research for you (or help you with your research), some guy tells you the results of his research, and you blow him off? First hand accounts from those that worked on the film are in fact pieces of the puzzle and count as evidence. That's fine if you don't think there is enough depth in Marvolo's research, but don't ask for something and then brush it aside. Plus, it's quite ironic that you say that some folks who worked on the film can't remember things accurately since it is the accuracy of your memory that has been called into question.

Look, we're all for the discovery of "new" or "lost" footage, so don't act as if everyone is against you. It's just that we've seen this before where people seem to remember things that didn't happen, so that's why the explanations of created memories are being offered.

Great job, TM! I say go with it!

I agree with ID here. I was stunned at how much I liked this. When I read your initial message it wasn't clear to me that you used the original opening and then blended that into the new music. That is definitely the key to making it work.

Dominoes or Pizza Hut?

<off topic> Ah, right. A Colorado man. I recall from the 2005 Tecmo Playoffs that the Broncos are your team. Well, I'm supposed to fly into Denver tomorrow evening. Hopefully all is clear by then. They say they'll reopen at noon Friday, so we'll see.</off topic>

Yeah, the sauce goes well with that crust.

Dominoes or Pizza Hut?
Time
I chose Pizza Hut for the same reason I like McDonald's. People ask "Why do you like McDonald's? They don't taste like real burgers." EXACTLY. If I wanted a burger that tastes like something I could make at home, then I'd make one at home. And I do that from time to time, and they're darn good! But if I want that "fast food goodness", I go to McDonald's.

Pizza Hut to me is the fast food of pizzas. It is tasty, plain and simple. That butter on the bottom of the pan crust with a slight crispiness -- yum! Now don't get me wrong. This isn't "real" pizza. But it is very good for what it is. If I want real pizza, I know where to get that (and it ain't Dominoes or Papa John's) -- or at least I did before I moved to Atlanta!

Adywan, thanks for the update. What about this thing?:

Will this be fixed? I must say my greatest disappointment upon first seeing the SE was that this shot still looked bad to me.

Enjoyment isn't based on a conscious decision. Sometimes there are obvious reasons for enjoyment (or lack thereof) and other times it is more subjective. Either way, you don't do a 180 for the heck of it.

If your boss is constantly rude and disrespectful to you, you don't just wake up one morning and decide, "I think I'll enjoy working for my boss from now on." If a museum you frequent has what you consider to be an ugly painting, you don't just decide "Next time I go to that museum, I believe I'll start enjoying that crummy painting." It doesn't work that way.

This kind of reminds me of a post by Ingo Sucks or one of his relatives/alter egos. He was asking if Star Wars should still be his favorite movie or if it should be The Thief and The Cobbler. That's right, he was asking for advice on what his opinion should be! Amazing. Apparently he should have got in touch with Gomer to discuss it.

I think the confusion lies in Lucas' contention that while he didn't set out to make it all about Anakin, that the story really was about Anakin all along.

He didn't intend it, that just sort of manifested itself to him as he went along.

Problem is, there is a third possibility here that is supported by reality. Although he didn't set out to make it all about Anakin, he decided at some point to take it in that direction. It didn't magically manifest itself that way.

Imagine this: you take someone who has no knowledge of ANYTHING Star Wars and you sit them down and show them the OOT. Then, when it is over, you ask them one question: "Who is the one main character in that trilogy?" Anybody here think their answer would be anything other than Luke Skywalker?

The original films are not a story about Anakin Skywalker. They are the story of a young farm boy who dreams of bigger things, is able to realize his dreams and learn more about himself in the process. Always have been, always will be.

^^^See, this is what confuses me so much. Apparently some things he admits to making up at a later time, which is fine. But other things he claims are part of his original vision that he wasn't able to realize in the first (or second!) go-round, despite evidence to the contrary. Consequently, I don't know in what context to put his various ideas.

That's because the real story is about Luke, and how he was the better man, and the better Jedi, than his bitch father.

You mean to tell me that the tags such as "From The Adventures of Luke Starkiller" and "From the further adventures of Luke Skywalker" on Star Wars texts weren't because GL wasn't able to use existing technology to realize his original vision of this being a story about Darth Vader? Say it isn't so...............

Zombie, you mean you aren't aware that the Jedi had been informed of the Rule of Two by the Dark Jedi Kibh Jeen 156 years prior to the appearance of Darth Maul on Tatooine?

Seriously, it is the continual reliance on EU material to make sense of the PT that highlights its many flaws.
