Disc Errors
Time
Okay, lately I've been having issues with the discs I burn.

I have always used Office Max DVD+R's - I realize these aren't top pick, but they always played flawlessly on my DVD players.

Recently, sometimes when I am playing a disc in my player, it will freeze/skip at a certain point in the movie. When I play the movie in my PC, I don't get this problem. If I do a straight ISO copy of the disc in DVD Decryptor, the same error occurs at the same point in the movie.

Using these same discs, the first several burns of my fan edit (see below) had an error in the same spot in each movie.

What is the likely explanation here? Did I just happen to get a spindle of sketchy DVD's? Is my writer causing these errors?

If a disc can read properly on a PC, does that mean that there aren't any fatal flaws in my backup copy? I would hate to think some of the DVD's are now junk and that I would need to get reburns of certain things.

Thanks for any advice!

I guess the question I pose right now is, in the meantime, is there interest in a higher quality DVD release of the "Original (almost) Unaltered Versions" of Balance of the Force and The Clone War.

Thanks for the advice!

I would be interested in one of Balance Of The Force for sure - would you be redoing the title crawl at all?

Nosferatu, A Symphony Of Horror (The Super Castlevania IV Score) - COMPLETED/UPLOADED!
Time
This site has a ton of info on how to get video game music, including simply how to use ZSNES to rip audio from games - X-Treme Games Music

As for the second audio track, that was a playing around thing that I decided to just tack on as an "easter egg." You can actually hear the audio if you start it around the bedroom scene near the end. I mainly kept it as an alternate music placement for the "victory" music, but there is another song on there that I always thought HAD to have inspired some of the Castlevania music.

Ever thought about making an alternate soundtrack version using Castlevania: Dracula X/Vampire's Kiss? I'm not playing my ZSNES emulator until I get an analog USB controller. I have the ROM of all three versions, Akumajou Dracula XX (Japan), Castlevania: Dracula X (US) and Castlevania: Vampire's Kiss.

I actually hadn't. New developments may lead me to do a second version of this project which I will also upload here (if anyone is interested) so maybe that is something I can look into.

And have you ever seen Shadow of the Vampire? Downright strange and weird film.

Yep - a pretty neat imagining of the whole myth around this film.

And can you PM me how to extract music files from ROM's? I have several SNES games via ROM I'd like to make a soundtrack to.

Sure.

'I Bent My Wookie' - The Animated Tribute Project (* unfinished project *)

Great idea! I love the Ralph Wiggum inspired title.

On Futurama last night (it was the episode where the kids make a newspaper business to compete with their fathers), there is a quick clip of the space slug biting at their ship, as they are flying through asteroids.

One Family Guy episode has Peter shoo'ing Jawas away from his car, but I can't remember which one. The newest season's first episode also opened with a complete Star Wars throne room celebration recreation. There are also two scenes throughout the series where Ben is instructing Luke on the Force.

I have a mac...and I can't get the files to decompress....

I'll have to wait and use someone's PC.

Rename them to
something1.zip.001
something2.zip.002
something2.zip.003
something3.zip.004

Then open the first file with StuffIt Expander, which should decompress the files.

Thanks for the tech advice here! I suck with Mac stuff.

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side (the TM edit) (Released)

Yeah, definately experiment with the nemoidians voice for different raspy, alien effects. The thing is these nemoidians have always LOOKED creepy as hell, its only their "doh de doh" human dialects were totally warped compared to their appearance. But I like the fact that we're having someone who is doing a real "alien" dubbing attempt for their dialouge.

I'm kind of on the team for having jar jar speak basic as well. I simply cannot connect with an alien character that talks all the time, yet is babling in an alien language...it just doesn't connect with with the actors or story flow. I know that chewbacca never uddered anything in basic, yet he wasn't in full conversations with ANYONE , except solo on brief occasions. It just makes jar jar more useless if I have to stop and read what he is saying all the time....especially since we will be doing that for the nemoidians and any other alien through the movie. And his mouth movements are NOT limited to his dialouge on screen in the original. He has a huge CG beak/mouth that only animiated the words to a certain point, I think it would be easy to drop new words on top of his actions that contradict what was in the script. Although i'm not really into the idea of him having a scottish/irish/british/australian twist at all. When i looked at the character of jar jar before I knew what he sounded like, I imagined that he had somewhere between a deep/normal tone and that he spoke in broken sentences. He did seem like he was a frightened/weak individual that was having trouble adapting to the cruel universe and I thought that would reflect in his story........which it could have.......and could yet. I mean, we do have the ability to make this character interesting and add some depth to him through Episode 2. I just wouldn't want us to treat the character like it is completely hopeless and will ruin whatever celluloid has his presence.

Riddles in the dark....

Great points, especially regarding the Neimodians.

There are snakes and lizards on Degobah in ESB.

Silent Hill (Released)
Time
Originally posted by: Spence101287
Hi, just kicking around some ideas. I watched Silent Hill for the 2nd and 3rd times over the weekend and thought that it was a good film, but there could be some interesting edits to come out of it.

I thought maybe it would be cool if maybe once Rose enters Silent Hill, we stay with her character the whole time, never showing Sean Bean at any point after the beginning. Even though he had some good exposition, it wasn't necessarily really important to the scariness or the atmosphere of the film, in fact i think his scenes actually detract from it. Also, the ending could be changed, and the film can end right after Rose escapes the town, giving the film a simple happy ending as opposed to the "what the hell??" ending the film has now.

Again, this is just an idea, but i think a cool, creepy hour and a half horror movie could come from this slightly messy 2 hr. 20 min. movie. Any thoughts?

I agree with all your ideas. The whole film was kind of a mess.
