Yes. The BD-25 is all three movies.  They are 480p anamorphic x264 encodes.

I could post some screencaps but it looks exactly like some of the other shots shown in this thread starting around page 4. The previous page has a couple shots of what the menu layout looks like.  It's a very simple layout.  I've not done any filtering whatsoever on this release.  It doesn't need it really imo.  I've decided to go with g-force's advice and never denoise lol. If you think it looks too noisy just step back another foot or two and it'll look better :).

I'm going to delete all of the rar's and par's for all of my raw captures next sunday so if anybody can't get something they want let me know before that time.

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

I totally agree with everybody that says you should buy your own parts.  For a little over 1,000 dollars I've got a very powerful computer that would have cost twice as much had I bought something from a company.  I have raided ssd's for the OS and 2 separate 4tb hdd's for storage. A quadcore processor running stock at 4ghz and a decent graphics card.  I also bought a massive heatsink for the processor. Overheating problems aren't such a big problem like they used to be.  Modern cpu's use less power than their predecessors usually.  Instead of buying a psu with 1200 watts or some crap I bought the sturdiest and best rated 600 watt power supply I could find. The coolermaster case I stuck all of the parts in cost me 20 bucks and it looks great.  Seriously, buying something from a company is not a good idea.  10 years ago it was difficult to put components together and it was very easy to order something that didn't plug into the other something properly but everything is plug and play today.  You just have to make sure you get the right cpu, mobo, ram combo and everything else just hooks right up. Anyway, that's my 2 cents lol.

BD authoring help - I need some testers and experts
Time

I've just recently taken the plunge with blu ray authoring myself.  I've found that encoding an elementary .264 file with 0 bframes and then not allowing multiavchd to do any transcoding is the best way to ensure compatibility. Maybe you've done this already, I just thought I'd put in my 2 cents. I looked at your project and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary but I'm a complete noob in this area lol.

If encoding at 1080p i guess I'd use something like this:

--crf 18 --preset veryslow --tune film --bluray-compat --vbv-maxrate 40000 --vbv-bufsize 30000 --level 4.1 --keyint 24 --open-gop --slices 4 --colorprim "bt709" --transfer "bt709" --colormatrix "bt709" --sar 1:1 --bframes 0

Also, there is an option in megui to import your chapter cuts and ensure that the first frame of each chapter is encoded as an I-frame which should ensure that each chapter is capable of playing correctly when jumped to.

Again, this is all stuff I've just read and I'm no expert on it :).

The BD-25 for The Star Wars Trilogy: JSC Edition is now available at a.b.sw.  I completely spaced out the INFO page that I was planning on adding but I think it's pretty unnecessary and I'm happy with the way the disc looks and functions.  I hope you guys enjoy it. I didn't do any denoising, just adjusted the levels.

Star Wars Trilogy: "COLD" Edition (MKV's Available Now)
Time

The 97SE script is a part of the COLD script which I will be porting into this thread someday soon hopefully lol. It assumes that you are using my raw files as input though so if you want to use another source you might have to trim the start and end to make it match up.  Even then, there might be a few frames missing from the laserdisc that aren't missing from another source.  I know there was some funky stuff happening in ROTJ when R2 and C-3PO are at Jabba's palace trying to open the door for example. Mileage might vary but it could be a good jumping off point instead of starting from scratch.

I don't plan on upping these to the spleen anytime soon so if somebody wants to then please feel free to do that.

Here you will find all of the scripts necessary to generate the "COLD" files from the source files.

You will also need:

The 2004 DVD R1 NTSC release. (I used DGINDEX with forced film selected to IVTC)(This requires that you first extract the correct PGC for the english crawl or you'll get intertwining crawl languages because of the different angles)

The 2006 R1 NTSC Bonus Discs.(I used DGINDEX with forced film selected to IVTC)

The HF9G JSC raw captures.

The HF9G 97SE raw captures.

COLD is an acronym for Comparison Of Low Definition.

This is a split screen version which uses the following releases for comparison:

1985 Japanese Special Collection Laserdisc

1997 Special Edition Laserdisc

2004 Special Edition DVD

2006 Bonus Disc “GOUT”

I have synced everything to the 2006 Bonus Disc because I was only interested in comparison of original footage.  This means that “Special” footage will be incomplete or excised for the most part. There is an audio track, but this is mainly a visual tool for comparison of the different Standard Definition releases mentioned above.

Video Format…: MKV (x264)

Resolution…: 1440x1080

FPS…: 23.976

I've tried to IVTC the 82 P&S but the cadence is crazy and I can't really figure it out.

For most of the movie, the pattern is
...2 2:3:2:3:2:3:2:3:2:2:3:2:3:2:3:2:2:3:2:3:2:3:2:3:2 2...
In other words, 25 frames comprise 61 fields.
It's IVTC-able using ...doubleWeave.selectEvery(61, ...plus twenty-five parameters)

Reel6B is the exception to that rule.
Seems like the masterers were worried that reel might not fit on the end of Side 1,
so they cranked the speed up a notch to squeeze it in.
It's faster than the rest of the movie.
I haven't cracked the pulldown cadence for Reel6B yet.

I guess it's not as randomly wacky as sw-jsc but the time compression leads to some long patterns.

Thanks for the info.  I'll be able to use a little bit of the stuff there.  I'd use those pics if the resolution were a bit higher because they are without the obi.  They are only 300x300 though :(.

The crawl thing I can mess with and see what I can do.  I seem to remember a page somewhere that had information on the angles of the different crawls. I've got gimp installed so that should be an easy thing to do.

Thanks for the tips!

I'm basically finished authoring the BD for the JSC trilogy. It's pretty simple with no motion menus.  I'd like to include an information page though. Does anybody have a synopsis of information about this release?

I've not made a cover either.  These are the 2 things I would need help with before it's finished.

Here's a couple shots of a couple menus.

Thanks so much for all your work on this Mallwalker.  I wish you luck on cracking the cadence on reel 6 of the 82 P&S!

If anybody has successfully snatched any of the raw caps please let me know so I can start deleting the rar's and par's that I have backed up.

Star Wars: "COLD" Edition is now available as an mkv on usenet too btw.  I have posted my script here. It is the same process as the other 2 examples above if you want to generate it from the raw files yourself.

Then in my script just fill in the correct paths for the files.

I used dvd decrypter in IFO mode to demux the m2v file on the gout and se dvd and then used dgindex with forced film checked to create the d2v files.

The raw captures are available on usenet.  They are about 60gb's each and have no sound.

Since Mallwalker's scripts are gout synced I made a 720p avchd with menu's and chapters for ESBJSC.  I used the audio tracks from the U.S. gout disc.  It weighs in at 7.5gb and looks pretty good imo. I've tested it on my PS3 slim and everything works fine.  Is there any interest in something like this?

Once Mallwalker is finished with the SW IVTC script it would be pretty easy to release the JSC trilogy this way.  If somebody else had plans to do something similar just let me know and I'll gladly stand down. The only thing I would plan on doing is to adjust the black and white levels, cropping, and resizing to 720p.
