The B-wing shoot at the weekend went amazingly well. I canāt thank everyone involved enough for the brilliant job they did. We got all the shots needed and i canāt wait for you to see Blue Squadron in action in the final film. As a small teaser, here is a short video. The clips are randomly sequenced and not how they will appear in the film & NO dialogue ( we don;t want to spoil everything š ) but you can finally get to see the pilots and the cockpit in action.

Is it just me or did a lot of fans turn against the unaltered versions once the sale of Lucasfilm to Disney was announced? Before the sale to Disney, I always heard that Lucas was evil incarnate and that the Special Editions are unwatchable, but the day that the sale to Disney was announced, I started hearing āreleasing the unaltered versions would result in the discontinuation of the Special Editionsā or āreleasing the unaltered versions would go against the canonā.
It was around the time that TFA was in production and it was reported that they threw georgeās ideas for EP7 out the window and basically cut him out of the production. The āGeorgeā fans became very vocal claiming that only āGeorgeās visionā is canon and the Disney films will only ever be fan fiction. They pounced upon anyone daring to say they wanted the unaltered versions. They feel like they are the ātrue fansā and the ones upholding Georgeās legacy. Itās bloody ridiculous.
Anybody else hoping Ady will re-think giving Boba a ādefinitive deathā?
Unlike the changes to SW & ESB, this is one that will force a change in the viewers EU. In the original, itās easy to imagine Bobba surviving (as many do), but by giving him his fathers head chop ( I believe the plan is to use footage from AOTC), itās over.
Also, if youāre a saga fan, both Boba Jong and Boba Fett will receive the exact same death.
Iām not even a big Boba Fett fan, but this idea just sits wrong with me.
I think Iāve said this before, but Iām hoping this is the reverse of āNo AT-STās in ESB:Rā.
Not sure where you got that this is the way he is going to die ( and i certainly wouldnāt reuse footage from AOTC even if i did decide to kill him off that way). A real bugbear of mine is the resurrection of dead characters( Boba surviving the Sarlaac, Maul surviving being cut in half, the Emperor returning as a damn clone etc). It cheapens their death if you just bring them back just because they are a popular character. Bringing a character back as a force ghost is a different matter entirely though as this isnāt really bringing them back to life. Boba was nothing more than a throw away character that the fans inflated his importance. I really donāt care what the EU has said or done as i have stated many times, the EU does not exist in relation to the Revisited Saga. Boba is going to die and there will be no doubt that he is dead in ROTJ:R. How this is going to happen? Well, that hasnāt been fully decided just yet.

I believe that Vader was going to be someoneās father just from his name (a Germanic version of father), but we have no concrete idea who that was going to be. There are no clues in the drafts of the original screenplay.
Darth Vader comes from āDark Invader/ Death Invaderā. It shows Lucasā original notes in the making of ESB book and states that āLucasās notes that led up to the name of his villain: āDarkā and āDeathā became āDarth,ā and āInvaderā was shortened to āVaderāāDarth Vader.ā Itās just pure coincidence that Vader became the Father and the German āVaterā meaning father, are similar.

Short video showing one of the easier fixes being done for ANH:R HD, thanks to the 4k77 35mm scan. Although the video shows just one of the shots which solely uses the 4k77 scan, the others (flying droid and the Ronto in the background) use a mixture of the 4k77 combined with the Blu-Ray, which were a lot more complicated because of lots of rotoscoping and matching the grading to each element.

Donāt get all the hate for Ivan. All Youtubers use Patreon. I understand why some might consider it an ethical issue,but its out of our control. Drop it and get over it. Heās gonna be remembered as one of the greatest fan editors because of what heās doing to TLJ.
Why the f**k should we ādrop it and get over itā? His actions could have serious repercussions for every Star Wars fan edits & fan editors. We have seen what happened when Axanar decided to personally profit from a brand they had no rights to. Disney could see what he is doing and decide to clamp down on fan edits. This could put an end to a whole section of the fan editing community through the actions of one person. Years worth of work, down the drain. And, no, not all youtubers use Patreon. NO fan genuine fan editors monetise their videos on youtube, for one, and certainly not set up a Patreon to pay themselves a wage.
A 4K version like this downsampled to 1080p will still look amazing because the source resolution is so high. I have a 75 inch LG UHD TV and a Cambridge Audio UHD media player (capable of reading this file off a USB, I might add), and 4K discs hardly look that different than 1080p to the naked eye in terms of perceiving pure resolution from a normal viewing distance. The best part of commercial UHD technology, IMO, is the expanded color gamut confered by either HDR or Dolby Vision technology, which these projects have not and cannot take advantage at present.
In my experience, thereās a barely perceptible difference in resolution between 2160p and 1080p (I have 30+ UHD 4K movies and have compared several with the 1080p releases); the most important factor is a high quality and high res source scan. Thatās what Iām paying for when I buy 4K discs.
Thatās because most UHD Blu-Ray releases are really 2k sources upscaled to 2160p. Compare the 1080p Blu-Ray to the UHD Blu-ray of something like Blue Planet 2 and you can really tell the difference. Plus you don;t really need a UHD media player. The LG UHDTV is able to playback the 4k77 file, and other UHD files, just fine via a usb stick/ external usb drive ( I have the 70inch HDR LG TV).

The person selling these bootlegs, Stinkytuna, has been reported hundreds of times and Ebay donāt even bother to do anything about it. Itās disgusting when you see just how many copies he has been selling. Heās earning a fortune from other peoples work.

all parts are available, there just seems to be some damaged files showing up. But there are enough par2 files to repair any damaged ones. Just download all files, including par2 files, into the same folder and then use multipar or quickpar to repair the damaged files. You can then unzip the file
I saw several of the ANH Regraded files on Usenet are apparently incomplete, and I donāt think I can get the full thing on Usenet. Is there anyone who does have the full version and can share it with me via PM?
Just make sure you grab all the Par2 files. There are enough there to repair any incomplete files

Assuming itās a whole reel (which I think it is?) it was likely a scanning focus issue and they decided they didnāt have enough time to rescan the reel.
No, itās just a section. Even then there are a few shots that are perfectly fine mixed in towards the end.
Finally, thanks to the 4k83 release, i can replace the section of the Official Blu-Ray that is completely out of focus. Itās a shame that the dark areas in the 4K83 donāt seem to contain as much visual information and that the highlights are completely blown out in places, but itās miles better than what we have officially. How the hell this even got passed quality control, i don;t know. And itās obvious that they tried to artificially sharpen it too, so they knew about this problem.

I was watching Harmyās Despecialized Star Wars, and noticed how much Luke and Leiaās echo in the chasm really boomed with the surround sound. I usually watch Revisted, as that is my definitive version of the film, and didnāt remember that. Comparing the echo to both Despecialized and Silver Screen editions, it seems Revisitedās echo is hushed. Was that a deliberate choice, or something that can be reevaluated with the 720p edit?
I used the 2004 mix as a basis. The echo effect was altered a few times in previous mixes and they went with a more natural one for the SE. I wonāt be altering that for the HD version as i will be using the DTS 6.1 track from the blu-rays

No offense guys, but you were the ones who were insulting him and berating him behind his back, Iāve just gone through this thread after the link was posted on a Star Wars Reddit (SaltierthanCrait) thread, he isnāt forcing anyone to give him money, or pay for the edit, if people want to give him money in appreciation for the work then that is their prerogative.
If he loved doing the work so much he wouldnāt be asking for people to pay him so he can do it full time. He wants to be paid a wage for doing it and pay others in the process. That goes against everything fan editing is about . And the quickest way for Disney to crack down on fan edits and shut them all down. He is profiting from material he doesnāt own the copyright to.
