I'll try Megaupload. But I've got to render a new clip to fix some things first.

Oh, alright.
Yeah, I'll have to say that Angel's mockup was a little subtle, but it's the same concept... I think.
He adds a very slight blue edge to Luke, like the backlit edge on this photograph:

Oh, yeah sure, I see.
Haha, alright. Not sure if you're not taking me seriously just because I'm referencing a prequel.
But there's actually a really great example of this in Return of the Jedi, too.

Notice the same glow of Luke's saber around the edges of the walkway (though it's a little bit too much, given the saber's brightness). The walkway doesn't cast a colorless mask around the saber, like it does for Vader's saber (which looks wrong for a light source)

RotS is probably most stupid and least realistic lightsabres ever looked IMO.
I'll have to agree with you - however, I'm not talking about the sabers themselves. Just the glow they cast from behind the actors, which IS in fact realistic.
compare these photos

Notice how the glow of the backlight bleeds over the edges?
Now, look at this random screengrab from RotS (Sorry for low quality)

See how the bleed of the glow behind Anakin has a similar look to the actual photograph? That's what it really looks like when a light source is cast from behind an object.
Angel's mockup really only subtly illustrates the effect he seems to be going for.
Watch the Mustafar duel in RotS closely. Pay special attention to when the sabers pass behind the actors. You often get the color of the saber glow bleeding over the edges, which is the realistic film interaction that Angel is talking about - something they actually got right in RotS.
Aiya.
It managed to stay up for a little bit. I had some hope.
I'd upload it to Vimeo, but it's way too big for their free user limit of 500 mb, and my compressor has decided to randomly stop working.
New video!
Keep in mind that almost all the effects are temporary/incomplete.
The audio is also far from finished.

The difference between the two is that there's added blue color along the edge of Luke's head, as well as a sharper edge.
I'm very impressed overall with the video, Ady! Great work!
Yeah, I noticed that the masks with the lightsabers were a little awkward too. It really wouldn't be that hard to fix, either. I would never have been able to explain it like Angel did, though! :P
There was another issue I noticed. Right after the shot with the added burn marks, there's a shot where Ady made the railing broken. The glow of the lightsaber passes behind the added railing matte, and for a few frames, it stands out. (I saw it just watching at normal speed).
Argh. I'm really cursing my bad fortune. I was never able to see SSWR's stuff.
Hey, ben_danger, do you know who mocked it up?
See, I actually really love this idea, but... I'm not sure how this would be accomplished.
Just gonna leave this here...
*starts to die from the anticipation*
I actually thought that the Battle Droids flew Vulture Droids when the movie first came out.
It'd be cramped in there, but Battle Droids fold up, and don't need comfort. Wouldn't be too hard to explain.
That's a good suggestion. Obi-Wan's voice actor sometimes sounds a lot like Ewan McGregor, but Anakin's lines are kind of stale in the video game. (If it's POSSIBLE to be more stale than Hayden, haha)
I don't mind coming up with explanations for things necessarily, but when I catch myself trying to explain something, it's a sure sign that I should probably change it.
Thanks for the feedback!
I'm going to see if I can reduce the camo in motion - at least for a shot or two - to see if it's possible.
Things I'm definitely already doing:
-Making all clones shoot red
-Making all Star Destroyers shoot green
Just a little Photoshop mockup I did this evening. Thoughts?
That's a very interesting suggestion.
I'm not sure how I could explain the shutters opening, though. Unless they're being blasted off by laser fire.
Ah, yes. Absolutely!
It always bugged me that he did that, but I never considered removing it. That wouldn't be hard to do, either.
Consider it done! That's the next thing I'm going to do now.
Ah, that might work! I'll see what it looks like.
That might also get around the sinister "laughing while I tell you to kill somebody" line.
Well, it looks like I can't make everybody happy.
I'm going to be keeping Palpy's dialogue AND Dooku's look of shock.
I was actually thinking what it might be like if Palpatine JUST says "Do it!".
Angel:
Yeah, you're right. Even in the newest releases of the OT, there are still lots of the "classic" glow/flash explosions. I'll keep tweaking the effects to get them looking right.
Erikstormtrooper:
I'm still not decided on how I'm going to edit Anakin's defeat. I've gotten some good suggestions, and had some good ideas, but I'm not sure I want to say until I have a good idea of what I want to do.
As far as Palpatine's dialogue before Anakin kills Dooku, I've tried it both ways - having Anakin simply kill him, and keeping Palpy's dialogue.
Neither way really works for me, I think.
But I almost don't want to just have Anakin kill Dooku right away because almost every edit I've seen does that, and I just got tired of it.
