STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Or maybe he noticed that it's the beginning and more is to come. Why leave people to die or become prisoners? Remember his character arc...similar to Han's...learns to care about others where before he was just covering his own ass.

Lando: I've done all I can. I wish I could do more but I've got my own problems.
Han: Yeah, you're a real hero.

IF - nothing personal, I just used your post because it was the most current one when I was typing.

We're all just trying to come up with a checklist for him of what we feel needs to get done and some suggestions of how. Bottom line, as both of us said, is that Ady has the final call on what gets fixed and how, since he's doing the work. Everyone needs to remember that and not take it personally if Ady says goes thru the list and says "No, not fixing that" or "Gonna do it this way instead." He, like the rest of us, wants it to be the best it can be, but there's always a point of diminishing returns WRT effort vs. results.

I've been thinking about this whole detail-orientated thing, and the fact that not all ideas from everyone here can possibly be accommodated by poor Adywan. Along with his own particular issues for changes he'd like to do, Ady has invited folks here to come up with ideas for 'fixes' and 'suggestions' towards his edits also, and by the very fact of us doing so, anyone reading this thread will come across things that they never noticed before, or never thought about before, where these movies are concerned. Unfortunately for some, it may 'niggle' them a little if certain things mentioned here are not 'attended to', now that they have been brought to their attention on this thread, as they will now NOTICE them, lol. Even Adywan cannot 'sort' or 'add' everything that is eventually posted on here for him to do on these movies, and he will disagree with a few things suggested anyway.

I don't claim to speak for Ady, but logically the reason he's asking for everyone's input is to have all those extra sets of eyes looking for things he might have missed or that we've all just grown accustomed to seeing that way over the years. Just like your mind tends to put in things that aren't there - a classic example is horror films from the 60's and early 70's where people claim to have seen more gore than was actually in the film - your mind also tends to block out the minor editing and FX mistakes that most films have. By having all those eyes looking things over, someone will notice something that someone else didn't.

We're helping him come up with a list of problems. He'll decide what's worth the trouble to fix.

3. Luke and Leia kiss. Obviously its up to Adywan but this kiss is in disagreement to all nations and all cultures including the US and UK. And its a U-rated film! I don't think we (especially the Parents amongst us) are comfortable with our kids watching this. I favour a complete cut, but i don't know how that will be done though, even to tone it down.

I remember Luke and Leia sayig in ROTJ that "they've always known" upon finding out the truth. Even though Luke liked Leia in ANH, he never went further than that and so did Leia as something was holding them back. Thoughts anyone?

The only problem with Luke & Leia's kiss is that people now look at it with the benefit of hindsight. In the context of the film, with what the characters knew at that point in time, it made perfect sense. Remember, Leia was arguing with Han over THEIR feelings for each other. She just kissed Luke just to piss Han off. And it worked.

That aside, even Luke's and Leia's suspicions and feelings about each other didn't start to reveal themselves until they were escaping from Bespin - at the earliest - and even at that, it was just Luke using the Force to call to Leia out of desperation, not sibling bonding. Leia then kissing Luke on the Falcon was just "caregiver instinct" because of the shape he was in, not sexual tension.

Obi-Wan:
"You're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view."

Qui-Gon:
"Your focus determines your reality."

Star Tours 2.0: A Podrace....
Time
If they have to replace it, then they should go back to their original idea and just add new "tours" and let people choose which one they want to go on depending which speeder they get into. I've been to both Star Tours - FL and CA - and both had a few speeders, so it wouldn't be impossible for them to run different tours on each speeder. it would also give people a reason to go on the ride more than once in the same day for some reason other than just "doing it again".

At the very least, you might be able to squeeze it onto legal size paper, assuming the artwork was the right length and it was designed to wrap around an existing box, saving you from having to create the box from scratch.

Failing that, I think you'd have to design it in pieces - wrap, top and bottom - and put flaps on the top and bottom to build the box. 'Course, the problem still remains of what to print it on. What's the heaviest photo paper available?

OK, so, I've been playing around with Paint.Net, so I took it upon myself to create disc labels for all four of DFNYC's existing Indy discs - 01, 02, 03 and 05. And, being in PdN, each label is on a different layer, sharing the background. That way, I only have to have one file to store all the labels. Then to create the one I need, just turn off the other layers, Save As..., name it and hit "Flatten".

Anyone who wants the PdN file, email or PM me.

Well, just so you know, I found this on FreeCovers.net. Did you make that?

Oh, and the other one I need is DF02, not 05. Was trying to edit it last night but the board kept giving me an error.

One other question while we're on the subject - you said you have more Indy stuff to release. I have an old TV special called "Sidekicks & Heroes" for Temple of Doom. Do you have a good copy of that? Mine has been copied from tape to tape several times, and from 6 hour speed (I didn't know about generation loss 20-odd years ago), so it looks like crap.

You gotta read between the lines.

When the Falcon gets to Bespin, security won't let them land at first. Then when they do land, Lando is late in getting out to the platform.

Fett probably got there literally just a few minutes before. Security refusing to let them land was a delay tactic, and Lando not making it out to the platform in time was because Fett (and possibly Vader) were pulling rank on him.

The 'steam/smoke' that comes out of the Carbon Freeze Chamber hole as Han is lowered is a satisfyingly large and dramatic amount.....however the amount that comes out of the same hole when Darth tries to do the same to Luke during their duel IS NOT. It always seemed an unsatisfactory and disappointingly small amount compared to the Han effort, and I would love to see this improved on if it is within your capabilities. If you agree of course! Another thing I think would add to the dramatic effect of both sequences, is that during the actual INITIAL big flurry of engulfing steam/smoke that emerges from the Chamber hole....a very brief blue flash or two is also superimposed on it then too, as is seen in subsequent moments during the process.

Doesn't need to be changed. Chalk up the difference in steam volume to the fact that Han was actually IN the carbon chamber, whereas Luke wasn't. Naturally there's going to be more of a reaction when a substance hits a warm body than if it's just dumped into an empty area.

Lowry's restoration washed them out a little bit.

Was it the folks at Lowry or the folks at Lucasfilm who tampered with the color balance?

I'm pretty sure that it was Lucasfilm that messed the colours up.

The thing is its not just a blue tint that has been added to the film. In the opening cloud city shots they have added a reddish tint, but overdone it. They have destroyed a lot of the colour information and its impossible to recover the original colouring without weeks and weeks worth of work per shot, and even then it may be impossible. The original matte shot above looks so much more natural than the 2004 version. They have destroyed any of the subtle gradients that existed pre-2004.

As for the train and added sky traffic in the SE i really like these additions. I think it makes the matte painting look less static. The problem i have now with the matte is that now we have a better picture quality to work with it looks too much like a painting. It would have been much better for them to redo the matte to match the new CG footage. the buildings don't match at all now. ... but I'm going to struggle due to the fact that there's so little new building shots to work with.

Could you meet it halfway? Convert the GOUT to anamorphic, clean up the graininess that will show up as a result, then matte in the smaller changes from the '04 like the train and some of the buildings. Then you'd have the better color balance for the majority of the frame and only have to adjust the smaller bits. Would that save you from having to do layers upon layers of color balancing from the get-go?
