Beowulf
Time
Geez, I wonder if the filmmakers made it a point to remind the audience who the main character was every chance they got. You know, just in case people forgot the name of the movie while they were watching it. I'd seriously like someone to count how many times someone says "Beowulf" during the course of the movie. It has to be some kind of record.

This was a pretty decent movie. There are some pretty cool action sequences, though it does seem to drag in places. I saw the "RealD" version which was awesome. I'm not sure if I would have liked it as much had I seen the regular version.

Cinematic Titanic- New MST3K Company To Riff Star Wars Holiday Special?
Time
I don't care what movie it is. It's just great to see that all these MST3K cast members are back together again.

I wonder if the Riff Trax guys will ever get involved too.

Edit: It looks like they've updated the site with a new message. In regards to the movie, here's what Joel had to say:
The first official Cinematic Titanic feature will be available for sale the Monday following our world premiere on Friday, December 7th. That makes the street date a solid, nearly firm, December 10th or as close as we can get. It's a studio version of the live show packed with cool bonus features, so save your juice money. The name of the film we'll be riffing on is a secret, but I'll try to tempt you with some vague descriptions: it's very rare, it's very strange, and it's of questionable quality. Needless to say it's going to be perfect for our experiments. Please sign up for the mailing list if you haven’t already. We just love it when you do.

It could very well be the Holiday Special.

Video Games - a general discussion thread

Two games I remember having that had save via battery were Tecmo Superbowl and Baseball Stars. I never had a problem with TSB, but we bought Baseball Stars used and there were a few times when we lost all our save data. I'm guessing that had to do with an old battery. We were so frustrated when that happened. My brothers and I would spend so much time creating our teams and building up the players to the point where every guy was 100% in every stat.

I remember playing Metroid for the first time. About 10 minutes into the game I got frustrated and gave up. You know that part at the very beginning where you get the morph ball? Well I never figured that out so I didn't get very far....

Anyway, I just got Guitar Hero III for Wii last week and I couldn't be more happy with it. I've only played GH a handful of times prior to this so I'm not really the best at it. I beat it on medium though with 5 stars on almost every song. I've tried it on hard, but.... it's hard!

Great game though.

What programs do you use to secure your PC?
Time
My PC uses nod32 for viruses, and I run Spybot Search and Destroy every so often for spyware. I also use Registry Mechanic often as well as Security Task Manager for times when I wonder about certain programs that are running in the background.

And the Mac, well, I haven't run into any problems yet even though I use Azureus and binary downloader every now and again. I wish I could defrag my hard drives though.

I know what you're saying Puggo, and it's partly my fault. What I hoped would happen when I initially set up the paypal account was that I'd receive notification emails every time someone made a donation. I don't think it's ever happened since I set it up though so I usually don't see the donations until either someone asks us if we got theirs or I go in to check the account. What I have done is made a list of everyone who has ever made a donation and those people will be getting something special when the time comes.

I really wish I had the time to work on this project at the moment but my film classes have taken up just about all my free time. Being one of maybe two or three sound guys in my class keeps me pretty busy as every director wants me to work on their film. I anticipate my workload dropping significantly in a couple weeks though after my production class ends.

AVP 2

I thought Predator 2 was decent. I don't really remember Alien 3, and I didn't bother seeing the 4th film. Seems like both franchises have been going downhill since the 90's. And this film might not do either any favors.

I wonder what someone like Frank Miller or Quentin Terrantino would do if given the chance to do the next movie.
