Can we get back on topic!

It is only when special and exceptional circumstances clearly transform the relationship between a particular driver and a particular passenger into a special or different class or category of relationship that the case will be one in which the duty of care owed by the particular driver to the particular passenger will be either expanded or confined by reference to the objective standard of skill or care which is reasonably to be expected of a driver to a passenger in the category of a case where that special or different relationship exists.

(I guess the topic still is to write the longest sentence without punctuation, source is http://law.ato.gov.au/atolaw/view.htm?DocID=JUD%2F162CLR376%2F00002)

We can argue about #rotjpigmen all day, but this is an open-and-shut case.

Hahahahahaha.

I was hoping someone would appreciate that 😄 Had to be you.

It was funny but not “haha” funny.

In other words, not why I was laughing.

Oh hey look this is the new summary of the thread so far.

I win.

Unfortunately inadmissible: it was not at the top of the page.

According to ‘# of movies they’ve been in’, Palpatine, Obi-wan, Yoda, and Anakin are the main characters in the saga.

I thought it was Chewbacca, R2-D2, and C-3P0.

I’m not sure this is a great summary of the whole thread but I’ll take it.

The top of the page is more than one post.

OK, I think that I see the stakes of this thread. See you on page 380.

Well if you pay attention to my posts you’ll see I think it’s dumb to insist on any strict definition of “fan” and therefore it’s also dumb to label anyone as a bad fan.

But I’m also sick and tired of the “disney ruined everything for me” crap, metaphor or hyperbole or whatever. It’s like the old Lucas raped my childhood shit and it completely undercuts anything else you’re trying to say.

Well, in this case, I completely agree.

It is dumb, and insulting, and disrespectful, to label anyone here as a bad fan.

About the childhood metaphor thing, you will see that in the “TLJ opinion” thread, I posted only one message (http://originaltrilogy.com/post/id/1142513), where I did not make any metaphor about childhood. As soon as I saw that this thread was going in all directions, I stopped participating. So I’m also sick as you are about those 189 pages of metaphors and childhood stuff.

But as soon as someone (other than God, in which I don’t believe) says that there are a good and a bad people, I will have an unhealthy tendency to want to be on the side of the bad people. Sorry for that.

JEDIT : BTW, Disney didn’t ruined my childhood. I really enjoyed TFA and R1 is not a bad movie at all.
Rian Johnson did.

OK Chief, I will feel from now on what you tell me to feel 😃

Seriously, the Disney that killed childhood thing is obviously a metaphor (or a hyperbole, or whatever, I’m not a linguist). There is another topic with currently 189 pages of discussions about that.
The recurring problem of this thread is that the interlocutors are at different levels of discussion: some take on the first degree what others evoke by analogy only, and vice versa.

As far as I am concerned, the most exaggerated people, the most sanguine or the most “first degree” are not, for all that, “bad fans”. They are fans, extreme fans, hardcore fans… but not “bad”. I do not like this way of judging, and this is what I dislike in the message of kitty.

The sense of perspective you want me to get about the movie (and you are right about that), we all need to get it about this discussion too 😉
As far as I know, “bad people” means something else than an overreacting fan.

Hey look this thread has a new reason to comeback because of the last jedi and how the bad Star Wars fans are back saying disney killed my childhood and the Last Jedi is the worst star wars flim.

I don’t like TLJ, I rank it in last position in my personal ranking, and yet I don’t think that I’m a “bad Star Wars fan” (BTW, this is not a very positive way to describe people). I fully respect people who enjoyed TLJ, I understand what they like in this movie, I’m glad to read their explanations about their feelings, and I’m happy for them. My best friend (who also is the godfather of my daughter) enjoyed TLJ a lot. Good for him, he still is my best friend.

But I don’t like this movie at all (that is my personal opinion), and I feel a little betrayed by Disney who killed, in a way, my own childhood. Yes.
How does that make me a “bad fan” ?
I own several dozen versions of OT and PT (French Laserdisc, US Laserdisc, THX remasters LD, Special Edition LD, VCD, DVD, Blu-Ray, digital collection), and I like them all. I even like TPM. I enjoyed TFA a lot. Am I a bad fan just because I feel that there is a break in substance and form with TLJ, which displeases me a lot ?

How other people who dislike TLJ and say it (like DrDre, HotRod for a moment, or LordStarKiller) could ever be judged as “bad fans”.

Sorry mate, but I feel your post totally disrespectful, unjustified and particularly useless in the current context where this film exacerbates differences of opinion.

PS: Yesterday, you wanted to “erase the Prequels Entirely” in another thread. Does that make you a “bad fan” ?

PS2: Please, use punctuation. Really. Making your text readable is also a way to show respect to other members of this forum.
