i agree that some 'folks in america' are quite rude.

I am sure there are rude people from other countries as well.

I did actually say that people in London can also be extremely rude. North Dakotans are rude in a different way though. I'm not even sure they mean to be rude. They just don't have 'the social skills'.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I'm a vegetarian.
Oh yeah, I forgot you were a fellow veggie. Being vegetarian in North Dakota is very tough. I'm living on Cheese sandwiches, and I don't even really like American cheese.

EDIT: Sorry for going off topic. Please resume oggling at anime girls.

The thing is, people in ND think they are better than people in NY or LA etc. They think their way of life is more normal, they think their way of treating people is correct, they think they are the good ol' boys of the USA and the rest of the country (and the world) are a bunch of rude, dangerous wackos. And the sad part is because I am an outsider, I find myself shutting up, smiling and nodding rather than telling them to fuck off.

I'm not talking about all North Dakotans - I've met some nice ones, but this is a generalisation. And don't get me wrong, people in London are very rude (they're quite similar to New Yorkers I think).

So I'm not a pro fisherman and I've never shot a deer. Laugh it up. If I had to, I could adapt to their way of life, but I sincerely doubt they could adapt to mine. They wouldn't last a week in the city.

Nope. I wanted to make the trip to South Dakota to see Mt. Rushmore (which is probably the only thing of interest within 500 miles of here), but then I saw some photos taken by a tourist and it doesn't look like you can actually get that close to the monument, which has put me off making the long trip. It seems to me to be more of a 'take a look if you're passing by' kind of thing rather than a 'make a trip especially to see it' deal.

good luck finding a pub/bar playing the world cup, btw. it's pretty scarce, unless you are in NYC.
Sadly I am in Jamestown ND. I'll be watching the games at home (actually, my in-laws' home. I would never consider this place to be my home).

Wayne Rooney looks like he comes from North Dakota.

No particular reason. I just feel like I am waiting to get on with the rest of my life, and the place I am waiting in just happens to be dull and insular. I am also sick of feeling like I am strange just because these peopel are too stupid and/or sheltered to have ever heard of a place called England.

Questions I have been asked in the last 2 weeks:

Have you ever seen a cow?

What did you say your name was? England?

Another thing that pisses me off and I find very rude is when I say something and people ask my wife 'What did he say?' I'm right here you inbred simpleton. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I speak ENGLISH, the same language that they speak in America, and my accent isn't that hard to understand, although seeing as you've never left the state you were born in and never heard anybody speak with an accent other than your own, I suppose your supreme ignorance can be accused. Actually, no it can't.
