Bumblebee:

Now, unless VW refused the filmakers the rights to use their vehicle in the movie, which, seeing as this is a dream product placement movie for any car manufacturer I find hard to believe, there's no reason why bumblebee shouldn't look like this:

But instead he looks like this (which on closer inspection is some kind of Chevy, NOT a Mustang - my bad):

Contacts in music or radio?
Time
Apologies for starting a selfish thread, but does anybody have any friends/aquaintances/contacts in the music industry or at a radio station? As some of you know, I make my own music, and getting it to the right people is basically an impossible task. Any kind of foot in the door, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. Maybe your friend's dad's brother's girlfriend works as a janitor at Capitol records, maybe you have a buddy who works at a local indie label, maybe you are an intern at a radio station (a small local or college radio station perhaps?).

If anyone can help, in any way at all, please PM me.

Thanks.

A real Star wars ?
Time
I think that, logically, the way the human race is, if we ever conquer the heavens, we will eventually wage war in them. Whether or not the battles of those wars will resemble the battles of Star Wars, I can't say, although I do belive that one day space travel will be alot easier and more commonplace, and the idea of a small one-man spacecraft like an X-Wing is not beyond the realms of possibility.

However, in his first post SW says he would like to see real Star Wars. I most certainly would not like to see that.

Thanks for the comments guys.

The hardest part in all this is the realisation that, while I can fairly lay part of the blame on my in-laws, I have some real issues that I need to sort out. If everything happens for a reason, this happened to make me get off my arse and go and get some help. I can move out of State and run away from my North Dakotan problems, but I can't run from the problems inside myself.

And hang in there Warbler - There's someone out there for everyone.

"RAGGED OLD FLAG"

I walked through a county courthouse square,
On a park bench an old man was sitting there.
I said, "Your old courthouse is kinda run down."
He said, "Naw, it'll do for our little town."
I said, "Your flagpole has leaned a little bit,
And that's a Ragged Old Flag you got hanging on it.

He said, "Have a seat", and I sat down.
"Is this the first time you've been to our little town?"
I said, "I think it is." He said, "I don't like to brag,
But we're kinda proud of that Ragged Old Flag."

"You see, we got a little hole in that flag there
When Washington took it across the Delaware.
And it got powder-burned the night Francis Scott Key
Sat watching it writing _Oh Say Can You See_.
And it got a bad rip in New Orleans
With Packingham and Jackson tuggin' at its seams."

"And it almost fell at the Alamo
Beside the Texas flag, but she waved on through.
She got cut with a sword at Chancellorsville
And she got cut again at Shiloh Hill.
There was Robert E. Lee, Beauregard, and Bragg,
And the south wind blew hard on that Ragged Old Flag."

"On Flanders Field in World War I
She got a big hole from a Bertha gun.
She turned blood red in World War II
She hung limp and low a time or two.
She was in Korea and Vietnam.
She went where she was sent by her Uncle Sam."

"She waved from our ships upon the briny foam,
And now they've about quit waving her back here at home.
In her own good land she's been abused --
She's been burned, dishonored, denied and refused."

"And the government for which she stands
Is scandalized throughout the land.
And she's getting threadbare and wearing thin,
But she's in good shape for the shape she's in.
'Cause she's been through the fire before
And I believe she can take a whole lot more."

"So we raise her up every morning,
Take her down every night.
We don't let her touch the ground
And we fold her up right.
On second thought I DO like to brag,
'Cause I'm mighty proud of that Ragged Old Flag."

I hate the last few days.

You may (or may not) have noticed that I haven't been around here for a couple of days. I've been having some REAL trouble with the in-laws. I'm talking no longer welcome in their home trouble. It's partly my fault - I realise now that I have serious depression and anger problems. Well, not so much an anger problem, but I really need to learn when to shut up and not let things get carried away. I think I'm gonna get some councelling. Unfortunately I can't get new in-laws as part of the deal.

Related 'I hates':

I hate my parents for the bad habits I learned from them (but I love them too and know that I really can only blame them to a certain extent and I am my own person and therefore responsible for my actions)

I hate other people not understanding depression and telling me to 'snap out of it'

I hate not being able to snap out of it

I hate North Dakota and *most* of it's people

I hate myself

I hate arguments

I hate shouting

I hate when I shout

I hate being out of my comfort zone

I hate that I am not as good at adapting to being outside of my comfort zone as I thought I was

I hate that I am expected to adapt in the first place

I hate when I piss someone off so much that they actually want to physically fight me

I hate people who want to fight

I hate that I never really had a chance of winning over my in-laws no matter how hard I tried

I hate that I didn't really try all that hard

I hate that I am not the husband (or man) that I want to be

I hate the concept of 'real man'

I hate being in a self-made mess that I have no idea how to fix

I hate that I can't go back in time

I hate that the only place I can really talk about it is here

I hate that you guys are all gonna think I'm nuts for posting this

People, I need help. I am looking for a picture of batman with his cape draping over him, maybe with one hand holding the cape. I'm not looking for any specific picture, but I can imagine in my head what I need and I know I've seen similar pictures before so if anyone has any, please pass them on. Thanks.

P.S It needs to be comic or TAS art, i.e no live action.

Now that you mention it, I do recall something about Sven already having a replacement, but I left England on May 7th and football news is hard to come by in the US unless you go looking, so I guess I forgot, or maybe even never found out who was taking over.

The list of England management failures you posted makes a good point, but I still think a national team should have a home-grown coach, and if the country doesn't have any decent candidates, tough shit. England aren't the only team to have a foreign coach but I don't really think it's in keeping with the national team spirit. It brings international football dangerously close to the realm of club football, where the club with the most money can buy the best players and coach and become the best team (Chelsea, Arsenal, etc). Football was always a working man's game, now it's a rich man's society.

P.S Just spoke to my Dad on the phone and he tells me Beckham has resigned as England captain. Has he resigned from international duty altogether, or just the role of captain?

P.P.S I personally think Hoddle could have taken England somewhere if he hadn't been fired over all that reincarnation stuff.
