But very little of any of this has to do with Singer's (or anyone's) sexual orientation.
Also a good point.

Transformers Trailer
Time
LOL True.

The thing is, a lot of transformers I bet you couldn't tell me the specific vehicle they transformed into. I mean, we all know Optimus is a Semi, StarScream is a fighter jet, etc, but what specific Semi? What specific fighter jet? But everybody knows that bumblebee is a VW beetle. Couldn't they have done their product placement with another character?

Review my movie!
Time
Exposition is tough in such a short film. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is some kind of title crawl. It's not very original, but it works: Even Superman Returns used a brief title card to explain that he has been away for 5 years in search of Krypton.

Or maybe you could have the sheriff recognise that she is one of these aliens and she says to the captain 'that girl you're with, is she a whatever' and he says yeah and explains that it's dangerous for her kind to be on this planet because people want to capture her so if she would hurry up and join his crew that would be nice so they could take off. Also, in the opening scene when they mind their horses he could tell her to be careful because there are people who want to capture her and she says 'yeah I know, it's not easy being a whatever these days' (sorry, can't remember the name of the species so i keep calling them whatever).

Are you sure? The old Batman serials of the '40s mimicked the comics's costume, as did the '60s show and movie (although I always thought the cowl looked kinda weird with its little tiny ears and strange eyebrow and nose markings...).

Well, the 40s serials not withstanding. I'd forgotten there was a movie based on the TV series, but I was reffering to the five most recent theatrical movies.
Perhaps Batman Begins should have gone for a more classic look. Everyone says how great it is and how they prefer it to the Burton Batman flicks, but it owes A LOT of it's look, including the suit, to Tim Burton.

With regard to the Superman suit posted by Nanner, I mostly like it, but when you take away the elements of it that I don't particularly like (the collar, the new 'S' which really shouldn't ever be changed because that is Jor-El's family emblem, and those pointless bit's of red padding on the sides), you are basically left with the current suit but no underpants.

Also, notice how the red is not a bright red, it is a Crimson. It's a better choice than the brown chosen by Bryan Singer, but it's still a change. Why are some changes alright and others not?

Editing movies ruled illegal
Time
Exactly. And in some cases, the swaering is not just meaningless and gratuitous. For example, when I first came to teh States I bought a Ryan Adams album from Walmart, not realising they edited their CDs. Ryan Adams is a rock/acoustic/alt country singer. He swears from time to time, but only when neccessary and it adds to teh emotion of the songs cos you know he means it. When I heard the first 'bleep' I was shocked, and argued with the customer services clerk at Walmart until she finally caved to my 'but I'm an ignorant foreigner' pleas and gave me my money back. I told her 'where I come from we don't edit our artists'.

If that is true, then I'd rather have the "underwear ad" suit. Because the "underwear ad" suit looks more like the classic Superman suit from the comics then the suit used in this movie.
To everyone complaing about the suit: I must admit I udestand your grumbles, but it could have been worse. 2 years ago, when a new Superman moive was still in development hell, I had an informal meeting with a guy who worked as a concept artist at Sony Imageworks. He showed me his portfolio, which included some top secret Superman artwork. If you could have seen some of the suit designs that were considered, you would be grateful they went with the suit they went with. One of the suits looked kind of like this black one:

Another looked a bit like this (without the sunglasses fortunately):

And another one, the worst in my opinion, was Superman in a suit of armour. And I don't mean a suit of Armour like 'Steel' or even like Iron Man - I mean an actual suit of armour like a Knight, with a big S on his chest. I don't know what they wer ethinking, and neither does the guy whose portfolio it was - he said we was just told to draw that so he did, even though he hated the idea.

After seeing that artwork, I can live with a rust colour cape.
