When I was in high school I lent the most popular, hottest girl one of my textbooks in an attempt to win her over, but I forgot that I had been using the very same textbook to try and flatten out a crease in the cover of my Transformers the movie video, and she publically and loudly quizzed me about it in school the next day. However, that was unintentional so I don't know if it counts.

WTF George and Steven?!?! More Indy 4 stuff...
Time
“Steven, it’s George, I’ve got Harrison on the other line. I’ve come up with a new plot outline for you to think about. OK, here goes - the date is 1959. Indy is one day from retirement at the university when he is asked to go on one last adventure by the us government. They were going to ask a younger more able bodied marine type but they thought 'what the hell'. The now adult 'short-round' joins the aging dr jones on his adventure, which this time involves 'commies' that have kidnapped the now geriatric Henry Jones because of his knowledge of space travel, and much 'I'm getting too old for this' dialogue ensues. At the end of the movie, Indy hands over his whip and hat to short round and says 'go-get-em, kid' and the new Indy mark 2 rides into the sunset, ready to take on the 1960s in a new computer effects laden trilogy (starring an asian, and therfore more politically correct hero). If we play our cards right we can have a new Indy every few years and sooner or later get up to the present day and beyond until we finally get to the story I've always wanted to tell, the way I really envisioned it - Indiana Jones:2099"

New Doctor Who
Time
Yeah the daleks are like really crappy wooden garbage cans with even less manoeuvrability than R2, altough in the new series they can leviate so stairs no longer pose a problem. I think the background is that something happened on their planet which destroyed their bodies so they have to exist inside these wheeled machines.

There's a whole load of links and pictures and stuff about the current series and the next (10th) Doctor

OK guys, I live in England and it looks like you are well behind on the Dr.Who news. Eccleston quit - more or less at the same time as the first episode aired. He's now been officially replaced by a guy called David Tennant, who recently stared as Casanova in a BBC miniseries. I doubt you've seen it in the states (unless it's on BBC America, I don't know) but anyway, he was pretty good in Casanova, kind of cheeky, so I think he'll make a good doctor, although he's perhaps a little young. If you want up to date Dr.Who info the best place is bbc.co.uk

Incidentally, I thought the first episode was pretty lame. The second was a bit better and it's improving steadily as it goes on, and now the Daleks are back it should be getting good.

Are you serious? That's gotta make the author feel like shit... "hey, your book no longer fits my story line; it's crap; I'm disavowing any knowledge of its existence."

Actually the disclaimer was there years and years before the prequels and said something along the lines of, 'here's a star wars story but if Mr Lucas ever decides to make his own sequels or prequels then this is just a story and holds no bearing' or something like that.

Do you think this was wise? Actors signing a sealed poster...
Time
Dave Prowse will sign anything. That's all he does. I have signed Dave Prowse stuff coming out of my butt (carded action figures, posters, trading cards, photos), and I'm sure he'd actually sign my butt if I asked. Nice guy though. By the way, sorry dude, but you have signed cellophane. If you had a toy and you got the box signed, for example, you'd have signed merchandise, but you have signed plastic.

Right, ignore everything you've just read (except what MebeJedi said), don't show off about how you went ice climbing or any of that crap and don't try to be in the same place at the same time or whatever because that is stalking. Here's what you need to do - be yourself. If she doesn't like the real you then who cares? Go up to her, say hello, have a chat. Do it before she leaves because you'll regret it if you don't. If it all goes wrong and she thinks you're an idiot, in 100 years, who's gonna care? In fact, in 6 months who's gonna care? Nobody. But if you don't try you will never know. So just keep it simple and say hello and see what happens.

Transformers the movie. So much more than a long commercial for some toys.

AWESOME!! I grew up on the original Transformers. Cool flick, although it's been quite a while so I don't remember it quite like I did back then. Have you picked up the dvds yet?
I haven't got the DVDs because the TV show, although I remember it with fondness, where really little more than commercials for new toys and the animation and script were shoddy, but the Movie was fucking great, another league entirely, and I have it but only on VHS. I urge anyone who watched it when they were young to watch it again - it still packs a punch.

I have the same bad feeling. I don't know why. I don't really watch TV so I've only seen a picture of the new Pope on the cover of somebody else's newspaper on my way to work this morning...but I just get a bad feeling.
